Avatar m tn well now, indeed i did learn why it must be room temp. yep, that must have been it. the cold to the muscle/skin there in the injection site. i forgot about that. thanks for the tip on taking out 5 at a time. see, that is why i'm lucky to have found this forum! "truelove47", the spasms in this particular case is just the immediate area around the injection site and underneath the injection site. guess that area got shocked due to the cold temp of the medicine.
Avatar f tn Hi, The nurse practioner at my doctor's diagnosed me as menopausal. Right before I got a diagnosis, my ob gyn gave me a 10 day course of progesterone and I had a period. When I sent the doctor's report to my ob gyn she asked if I had any hot flashes and I said no. She said there was nothing more they could do for me because my FSH, estrodial, LH were all high from that blood test that I had. I haven't had a period since that last one in September (from the progesterone).
Avatar f tn For nearly two years I have had experienced severe to chronic pain in my right eye. Over the past two years, I have seen 4 doctors, including opthamologists, optometrists, and I am currently seeing a neuro-ophthalmologist. I have had a multitude of tests including 2 MRI's. Recently I have been experiencing floaters when I have the pain. The pain is becoming more frequent and more severe. At times I also experience a sharp line of pain straight through my brain.

Avatar m tn some blood did come out, but now on this day it looks as though it could be a wart on my lip, it has the white area like a wart, there is a hole in the middle of it (an injection site), maybe it could be a bug bite ? ive been putting ACV and neosporin on it. not sure what to do. in the pics u cant really see the white circle but i assure its there (maybe in the last pic you can see it, be sure to scroll down). i am pressing my tongue against my lip to try to get it more exposed.
Avatar m tn I have read about prolozone treatment by injections, and Im looking for a professional in the Boston, MA area to ask questions and most likely get treatments. The nearest professional that I have found so far is in NJ about 200 miles from me. I would like to find a professional much closer. Has anyone had experience with Prolozone injections? Cost? Number of treatments? Location? Thanks for your input.
Avatar f tn 4) This too probably is irrelevant, certainly until the diagnosis is confirmed. In any case I am unaware of any current ongoing trials of new herpes treatments, in the Boston area or anywhere else. Please report back once you have seen a consultant, and/or whenever a definite diagnosis is confirmed.
Avatar n tn I'm 58yo had a radical prostatectomy in Aug. 2008. My psa levels were checked every 6 months and would go from .01 and slowly increase usually .01 every time and sometimes down, to my latest of .25 in Jan. 2011. My Gleason was 6.5 with neg. margins. Thru out this time I've seen 3 different oncologist, including Mary Ellen Taplin at Dana Farber in Boston. I'm going to see another 1 now because my doctor suggested it. Is radiation the only treatment option I'm going to be given?
Avatar n tn A while later, the dentist returned, when asked if my lower lip was numb I responded that the top was numbed, the dentist was surprised and gave me more injections and immediately began drilling. I let the dentist know that there was a lot of pain, so the dentist, I believe, gave me more injections, and then left to give the anesthesia time to work. Upon returning, my lip was numb, so the dentist began drilling again, but it was still extremely sensitive, so even more anesthesia was given.
Avatar m tn Hi, five months ago I suddenly developed severe dry eye in what seemed overnight. I was perfectly fine, with not even signs of mild dry eye and in a matter of days my eyes became unbearably sore, painful, and had a menthol sensation. After extensive testing (hormonal and auto-immune) came back normal, my doctors can not figure out how a 20 year old can have such sudden severe dry eye.
Avatar m tn (Reuters) - Three additional suspects have been taken into custody in the investigation of last month's bombings at the Boston Marathon, the Boston Police Department said in its official Twitter feed on Wednesday. The police offered no further information. Investigators had previously identified two suspects, ethnic Chechen brothers they said placed pressure-cooker bombs at the race's finish line on April 15.
Avatar n tn Doctors, your advice would be very much appreciated. Several weeks ago, I went in to see my dentist for a new crown. After the first injection of anesthetic didn't take, he injected me with another. In the process, a shooting electric like shock went through my lower jaw. He explained this was because he had hit the nerve but it would be alright. Since then, I have been back to him complaining of pain in my teeth along my lower jaw. The only relief I get is from ibuprofen.
Avatar f tn I live in the Boston area and am contemplating an ablation. I am so scared to have it done. Has anyone had one done at a Boston hospital that went really well? If so, what was the Dr.s name? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I was never advised of the risks of this surgery (that I could have permanent nerve damage or that I would be left with a huge ball like scar in the center of my lip. My lip is still swollen causing my lip to be exposed to the air (it feels raw all the time). The scar is hardening and it hurts ( I can also feel a band that runs horizontel along the incision line. I have seen an example of a mucocele surgery on the internet and it looks nothing like what this oral surgeon did to me.
Avatar n tn When the test was done technician pulled me out of chamber and as i woke up to wear my shoes, I had a numb feeling in my right face especially in my upper right lip. I went and changed my cloth. Later my left face was numb, my wife said I had stroke in my face. I ignored her comment.and went home. Next day visited my GP who said it was mini stroke.
382218 tn?1341181487 Today I spoke with a neurologist at BWH in Boston about a study they are undertaking that I am interested in, and want to share the information in case anyone here is also interested. BWH has received funding from NIH and the MS Society to study how MS affects the spinal cord by using high strength (3T) MRI. Participants are currently being sought, both MS patients and healthy subjects. The neuro I spoke with today advised that 4 visits to the study site would be required.

Avatar f tn Can anyone recommend an RE in the Boston Area? I need to make a change because I'm not happy with my present dr.
Avatar f tn m very confused where to start. I live in southern CT myself. I was told that Boston is the place to go and not to waste my time with CT because their success rates for repairs are lower than Boston. If anyone knows anything about St. Vincents (they are listed as #1 in CT on their website), I'd appreciate your input. Is there a website that lists statistics about hospitals that do repairs, etc...?
Avatar f tn Can anyone recommend a neurosurgeon who specializes in Chiari near Boston? I’ve seen a neurologist who just wanted to give me occipital nerve blocks and a general neurosurgeon in NH and he told me that I’m fine, and I’m totally not fine! It was a rushed 15 minute appointment with no time to ask questions. Thanks in advance!

Avatar f tn Does anybody know of a good chiari specialist in the Boston area that listens and can think outside of the box? I am definitely not a "textbook" case but truly believe I have a Chiari 0 or at least definite crowding that is causing tremendous neurological disability. I also have an unfused arch of c-1 and retroflexed odontoid that I swear pokes into my brainstem and have had a PT assess me as having a craniocervical instability.
