Avatar f tn numbness on the chin, lower lip and my two lower front teeth feels like they have been pressed together by a plier. This is a very discomforting feeling. I called the OS yesterday and they said it should go away in a few weeks to come. What makes me mad is that they OS told me that it is very rare to get this side effect "peresthesia", but by judging by the amount of postings on this subject, this is not a rare thing at all. Anyone who has had progress please let me know?

Avatar m tn Wow...I was really excited to find a page about this, and to see that other people are experiencing the same sorts of things I am, but I'm really disheartened to see what little success most of you have had with diagnosing/dealing with it. I'm currently experiencing a phenomenon for the second time in about a month and a half in which I wake up one morning with a slightly swollen/numb spot just inside my lower left lip.
748543 tn?1463449675 Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists. The information provided to her would lead one to believe that TMD ( or "TMJ' as it is wrongly called by many) is easy to treat and self-manage or that it may all be in the patient's mind. The sources in the article stated that, "TMJ problems were originally thought to be caused by dental Malocclusion but that this was an infrequent cause of the problem".
215858 tn?1420175156 Perhaps the most important criteria is how many biopsies has the doctor performed. What you want to hear is "hundreds" or more. Five out of my six biopsies were performed by a hepatologist, never by a surgeon and never "guided". They were virtually painless, except the first one. If I remember correctly -- it was around 40 years ago -- that biopsy was performed by a resident who probably hadn't done more than a dozen. It showed.
4520139 tn?1355852769 Was vague about price, but I think it was going to be $50-100 for the extraction of two teeth - said he would give me a minimal charge for the loose tooth which would probably come out easily). Vet was good until it came time for a simple administrative request - letter stating cat is healthy enough to fly in-cabin on upcoming trip.
Avatar f tn For those who do not know, Carlieridofboy is my daughter. I have spent the past 7 weeks with her, helping her detox, and attempting to love her through the desperate position that she has created for herself. She posted an interesting topic a few days back regarding mental withdrawal. I debated for several days about whether I should comment to it or not. I didn't want to chase her away from this forum, and yet, I knew that she was blowing smoke up your rear-ends.
429155 tn?1205676864 ( 05/12/07 ) So taking the bull by the horns I cut down to 40mg 2x a day, and never expected what happens next.
530191 tn?1214166411 Fortunately, most patients will become less affected by sedation after they have taken the drug regularly for a while. A new treatment has recently emerged for autoimmune urticaria. This is the use of Plaquenil, a drug originally used for malaria. In a recent trial 83% improved or cleared completely when used for three months or more. ref:http://www.aocd.org/skin/dermatologic_diseases/urticaria.html Hope you are better informed about your condition and find it useful.

363243 tn?1331037450 I've been waxing (it began with my upper lip, then my neck, followed by sideburns, and now even my cheeks) for close to 10 years now.
Avatar f tn Part of it broke off but I could still see that the pore was plugged and a day or two later top of the plug was sticking out again. i can't find ANYTHING online that looks like it.
407149 tn?1211736107 After showing her a thread like this one, she now believes me and wants and answer or two just like me.
Avatar n tn In the next day or two can everyone check in how they're doing? It's helpful to all of us to see how this is all going. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Physicians are so dogmatic to trust a study (you know, the one done by the manufacturer which is being pitched by the good looking medical sales rep with the glossy brochure) over their own patients real life symptoms, that they are really jeopardizing the patients well being. Well, Im sorry you are going through this because I certainly know what you are up against. I'll keep checking back here if you dont mind keeping me up to date.
350664 tn?1322829601 %90 of heart defects in D/S babies are MINOR and either heal by themselves or by minor heart surgery. (yea, heart surgery is anything but minor... but if you consider it compared to other kinds of surgery... it isn't the worst) Turns out my baby also has my rare skin disorder which causes %25 of babies born with it to die. BUT, I always knew the %50/50 risk of it, and what comes with it and would do it all over again. Already I love my little boy so much and he isn't even here yet.
Avatar f tn Reglan (metoclopromadine) is a very cheap medication, unfortunately, it is also metabolized in the kidneys, so a too high dose results in toxic levels in the blood. My husband and I discovered that completely bypassing the GI tract by using reglan injections worked much better in the end. Chica didn't get the extra pyramidal side effects (extreme restlessness, shaking and trembling) from the reglan injections that she got from the oral meds.
551343 tn?1506834118 Started on LDN, prescribed by my PCP, about 7 1/2 wks ago. It seems to help some of my symptoms, but I still wonder if I'm too far along for it to make a big change. It is prescribed for PPMS and has shown some positive results in slowing down the progression of MS. I just take it a day at a time and pray for good things. I try not to let my health consume my every waking moment, but as is human nature, I long for a dx, as much for validation as for peace of mind.
Avatar n tn I get something like this too...but I have LOTS of intestinal problems...and namely...I also had my gallbladder taken out about 10 years ago....I get "attacks" where I have SEVERE pain in the midle of my gut (triggered by pain meds.....wine....greasy food...and ????) I get VERY pale...sweat PROFUSELY, drool and then either vomit....have watery stools, fart or....if I'm REALLY unlucky....suffer from these WAVES of pain, vaso-vagal(?) type symptoms for HOURS until they subside...
Avatar n tn Then the dermatologist gave him a shot of kenalog, and prescription cortisone. still no relief after two emergency room visits they gave him hydroxine and blood workups for kidney, liver, and thyroid came back normal. then the allergist said his bloodwork for allergies is normal too. she put him on zyrtec and two hydroxine at night so the kid can maybe get some sleep.. Now were going on 5 weeks he has missed 3 weeks of school and there's still no relief for this poor kid in site.
280700 tn?1210287416 I just started my first cycle of clomid 2 days ago so we are on the same page pretty much I guess. I will keep you posted with my success. By the way my aunt got pg on cycle 2 and her daughter is now 8.
Avatar n tn Then at our very last fertility treatment two months in we lost the heartbeat. I was by myself at the appointment and was devastated. The second IVF didn't work and now we are on the third. All within ten months. I transferred on 8/16 and every day seems to last a week. I even took off these two weeks from work to be as stress-free as possible. I have been toying with the idea of an HPT on Saturday (14 days from trigger date). I wish I knew if I felt pregnant or not.
Avatar n tn Yes - I understand that 5 - 10% every 4 days is what is suggested - its just that I must be off in such a short time - and I guessed that rapid taper was better than c/t - failing that I will go c/t. But - having cut by 50% since Sunday and seeing that I feel OK (not great) on half the amount - and this is Tuesday - I thought this might be a bit easier than c/t - and I am able to work and look after the kids.
