Avatar n tn And is able to talk intelligently with you if you need advice on removal of implant. So if there is anyone else out there who needs information on this I will help out with any information I can give you. Was told by this surgeon that in the cases he has worked on 50% have improved. He didn't mention a time line. But I have heard of cases myself that the improvement happens relatively soon after removal. Good luck, looking forward to hearing that you are doing very well.
Avatar f tn This has resulted in a 100% improvement in the pain and feverish feeling emanating from THAT tooth, but I still have an strange irritating sensation emanating from the implant that extends to the cheek, nostril, and eye above the implant. I have a feeling the implant is the cause of the mouth trouble and wondering if it is the cause of my neurological symptoms as well. My physical activity has been reduced to a minimum compared to the level of physical activity previous to the surgery.
Avatar f tn Thank you Scottma for your help. I went to an oral surgeon a second opinion and he took several xrays. He showed me xrays and explained that the implant had entered an area of many nerves. He told me to have it removed immediately and even called the dentist that put the implant in. I then went and saw the dentist that put in the implant and he also took xrays.
Avatar f tn I can also say that I was left with a huge gap in my teeth after the removal of the implant (to improve the nerve damage) but that after a lot of consideration and consultation with my dentist, I have since had another implant without any bad effects. Even though my chin felt numb again from the injection, it returned to normal this time! I had total confidence in my dentist, who acted with the utmost care at all times.
660300 tn?1224793961 I had my Wisdom Teeth taken out 2 weeks ago...ever since then my right lip and chin have been completely numb...I went back to the Oral Surgeon who wants to wait a month to see what happens, I have a follow up appointment in November right before Thanksgiving. Is there anything I can do to help? Based on common experience, how long does nerve damage "usually" take to heal? I feel like I am in the dark...I cannot stand it...
Avatar n tn If there is significant bone loss around fixture(implant) and deep pocket, it's extremely difficult ,if not impossible, to decontaminate the root surface of fixture. If the implant is mobile, removal of implant may be indicated.
162948 tn?1205256292 I had the mirena in for about 13 months & had it removed end of august to try to get pregnant. I had thought it was more immediate. I found out it can take 3-6 months for your cycle to return. my husband and I are pretty bummed because we would have removed it earlier (or never had it put in). Anyway, I bled a few days after removal (probably due to the removal) & then nothing until a couple days of brown spotting at the beginning of this month.
Avatar f tn I had a dental implant in the mandible 6 months ago. After complaining of tingling sensations & numbness in the chin & lip, forward to where the implant is, the oral surgeon replaced it with a shorter one after one month. Another 5 months have passed, it has healed nicely & a crown has been attached by my dentist. The tingling is still there. When I touch my chin, my chin & lip tingle. After a routine cleaning & the crown, it seems a little bit worse.
Avatar f tn I want to move onto a more reliable contraceptive method - either the pill or the implant. I've been hesitant because I'm worried about it messing with my mental health. But I want to try it anyway. I'm just not sure which. I'm worried though that I have a hormone imbalance and that one or the other might worsen my symptoms. I've been cursed with excess body hair. Thick, dark, long and fast growing. Over my legs, thighs, butt, bikini line.
Avatar n tn I have had one implants removed due to terrible pain from the implant sticking into my lower lip. Now the left side of my chin and lower lip is so painful I leave my dentures out most of the time. I keep them in while at work, but I'm in misery all day. There is severe pain in my upper gums at night. I sleep with my head elevated to an almost sitting position. My dentist and oral surgeon don't have any suggestions. Is there anything I can do to relieve the discomfort?
Avatar f tn However, in severely involved periodontal teeth, replacement with implant may not yield satisfactory result cosmetically, unless you have long upper lip.
1345326 tn?1276453202 If the tooth shows a great deal of bone loss, it will eventually fail and in that case an implant or tooth removal is sound dental treatment. People should always educate themselves and ask questions before doing anything that costs a great deal of money. It's like investing in a car, or for some, the cost of a home down payment. You can't afford to walk in without information and education. If not, you do have to trust the medical provider you have chosen to be ethical.
1819855 tn?1317140999 Do you know if a zirconium implant will be a better choice versus a Titanium implant or the damage of an implant is matter what material is it made of? I am asking because I am researching this subject for months now and I KNOW, in Europe now (I was born there but had been living in North America for many many years) dentists use more and more the zirconium implants. My main problem is making this decision of having...
Avatar n tn Hi, Just want to boast that I had my implant removed today! Will write again later to share if any of the weird symptoms have disappeared. I used to be a healthy, energetic, brave, and stress-resistant person 4 years ago, when I got the dental implant. Symptoms started six months later and progressed, including excessive fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, cholesterol, indigestion, depression. It got so bad, that I spend many days in bed and kissed goodbye plenty of opportunities and ambitions.
1471920 tn?1286831137 I suffer chronic pain from nerve damage from an implant removal 11 months ago. Am doing acupuncture and taking gabapentin but the improvement is questionable. Have gone on the Mayo Connect to see if someone else has had a similar circumstance and a successful treatment plan and I have also asked help on how to proceed for an interdisciplinary assessment and treatment plan for my chronic pain. Good luck to you. I am truly sorry about your pain.
Avatar n tn My second question is regarding a sergury I had roughly 2 years ago, I had a mesh implant put in to repair 3 hernias, 2 above my belly botton and 1 below, the implant is the largest my surgen has ever put in, it is down the center and the whole right side of my tummy. My question to you is can it with stand 9 months of pregnancy?
Avatar m tn The urethrogram and catheter removal was an unpleasant experience but one which you just have to grit your teeth and bear. Unfortunately, at home, I picked up an infection and so was given antibacterial drugs which seemed to clear it up. I had similar problems with nocturnal erections which were very painful (both with and without the catheters) and would wake me up.
Avatar n tn Since then, I've continued to sip on the jasmine tea, but the irritation in my lip isn't much better since dropping the anise, can't tell if the toxic buildup is from the tea or what. Next is to stop the tea altogether. But what if it turns out to be the composite fillings? Life can get really weird. I wouldn't have required the avalanche of new fillings last year if I hadn't gotten into an Oreo cookie habit. Well, I learned a lesson about Oreos, but a little too late..
Avatar n tn I called the dr and 2 days later it was removed on 2/8/07. Removal was not painful at all. When the dr questioned me on why I wanted the device removed I told him the story. Do you know what he said to me ? That these are not side effects of the Mirena. BULLSH.IT !! I see it as my body did everything it could to fight off this foreign object inside of me. That day he asked me when the last time i had an infection and I told him just on Monday that I was itching.
Avatar f tn however, multiple plaques are relatively common. Usually localized on the chin, cheeks, or neck, involvement of the upper lip is rare. The characteristic lesion is an inflammatory reddish nodule with pustules and draining sinuses on the surface. Hairs are loose or broken, and depilation is easy and painless. Pus-filled whitish masses involve the hair root and follicle. Over time, the surface of the indurated nodule is covered by exudate and crust.
Avatar m tn Let whatever is in your nose and sinuses drain slowly out of your nostrils, while the hot water of the shower falls on your chest. Put a finger across your top lip if you don’t like the salty water getting in your mouth. After about 20 seconds, snort inward, so the mucus goes into your throat, then do some hawking, and spit it out of your mouth. Repeat once or twice. Then, close one nostril, and blow out the open nostril as slowly and gently as you can.
Avatar n tn i also have subcutaneous cysts, my doctor said... i was at the gyno and freaked out cause there was a bump on my lip... it got really sore but wasn't an actual sore. it was deep under and went away after a while (the hormones in the pill definitely have an affect on the entire vagina... cysts of any type can be caused from change in levels of hormones). i've been off and on two types of b.c. since the cyst, i hate it...
Avatar n tn I have three children already oldest is 3 and the young 8mths. I have got pregnant on the pill, the implant (in the arm)...and im scared im pregnant again. I had a home preg test which came up neg, then a week later it came up lightly positive. Just to make sure i took another one three days later and it came up neg.....what is going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar n tn Sorry to hear your suffering as well. You just struck something with the menopausal age and hormones though and I'm wondering if this could be part of my problem. When I was younger I was on every type of birth control possible and was unable to be on any of the pills, my hormones fluctuated so much and I suffered from severe migraines, and all made me physically ill with what I could only describe as morning sickness, without being pregnant.
