Avatar n tn It's been 2 years and 3 months since my chin implant surgery. I had a difficult time from the very beginning.I could not speak correctly, I felt a tightness and numbness in the chin area. I have a pocket inside my mouth which traps food particles when I eat. Sort of like a channel or canal that wasn't there before. I'm a able to speak a little better now but the numbness is still there. My bottom teeth seem to not be sitting on my jaw like they used to .
Avatar m tn I stay at Kolkata now decided to do Breast implant at repose plastic surgery in Kolkata, I want to know is it safe to do this at this time?
Avatar f tn will I be left with this huge scar in my lip? Can a plastic surgeon remove this scar? If so, when do you recommend that I have a consult with a plastic surgeon? I feel like my bite is off because my lips no longer close naturally due to this large bump.
Avatar n tn Small abrasion particles from the implant may play a role in implant loosening. Plastic surfaces shed more particles than metal or ceramic ones. Wear of the Plastic Polyethylene Socket starts from the day of surgery. The plastic socket is the weakest link in the implant. The rate of plastic wear against a metal ball is about 0.1 millimeters per year, but is more rapid in very active patients.
Avatar f tn t been advised as yet by the Surgeon then I would go with his/her recommendation. You might post this question on the Plastic Surgery Forum which I believe is a recent addition to the Forum List.
Avatar m tn because the bulky area underneath my upper left lip, every time when I smile, that part of lip become thick and relative big when compare to the right side of my upper lip as the bulky surgical area underneath the lip push against the lip when I smile. will this be permanent? or it is too early to say now and bulkyness could reduce over time as time pass by and my smile will become normal? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Some stiching was done and I healed well. Two months ago I had surgery to remove a small cyst that had grown on the lip - one year after the accident. The srugery has left me with a hard lunp on my upper lip. my smile is very uneven and I am distressed. Will it go away by itself, or can i have the lump removed surgically? where should I go for help?
Avatar n tn He secured the chin implant to the titanium plates used on my jaw surgery which made me mad. Since he used those the chin implant isnt even, even with my real chin it sits up a tiny bit and its not centered. I never had a problem with my chin it was just short. I thought when a chin implant was placed that it was suppose to at least be even with your original chin? What do you secure it with if the person doesnt have plates from a prior surgery?
Avatar f tn t know what it would feel like does it feel normal and natural like you never had anything done in the first place..(does this go for all plastic surgery)...?
Avatar m tn It was only supposed to include 1 more surgery for nipple/areola reconstruction plus a nipple tatoo. That did not all go as planned because I kept getting encapsulation problems necessitating additional surgeries to correct. In Jun. 2007 I had my left breast augmented to match better the side which already received a saline implant due to shrinkage of the flap previously operated on.
Avatar n tn Hi, I also had a surgery to my lower lip 3 weeks ago. I had an accident 20 years ago, fell and bit through my lip. I had a couple of stitches at the time and after, developped a large hard lump on my lip. I had it "removed" 8 years ago but there was still some bump left. So 3 weeks ago, I decided to do it again and for the last time. It looks flat in front of my lip and this is good BUT there is a lot of hard tissue inside the lip and some hard swelling in the inner lip.

Avatar m tn I now am starting my life over after a divorce and would like to have a testicle implant. Is this possible, and if so, whom or where do I find someone in Illinois to do this?
Avatar n tn After some time, fibrosis can develop on the breast involved in surgery and radiation therapy. Implant can be used for your breast reconstruction. You should ask your plastic surgeon for the type of implant to be used for breast reconstruction. There should be an acceptable cosmetic outcome after the reconstruction. Take care.
Avatar n tn When the radiation oncologist got her pathology report -it read that the margins were not clear enough for radiation. My pathology report after surgery in another hospital said my margins were clear for radiation. I am totally confused. What should I do?
Avatar f tn We are not sure what you are asking. If you are feeling like the plastic surgery is not pleasing, you can consider a second opinion with another plastic surgeon. You may first discuss what the final results may be once everything has settled.
6710217 tn?1386110892 I had to take out everything for surgeries in the past, so I imagine its just a precaution incase anything goes wrong they dont wanna be responsible for pulling them out of you! I was told to take lip and nose ring out for surgery incase I needed oxygen, they didnt want to accidently knock it down my throat or nasal passage.
Avatar m tn I need your medical opinion and advice on what is better for skull implant surgery, Porex implant or moldeable materials, such as PMMA and hydroxyapatite?? because i heard that porex might cause an infection or something like that!! Please provide me with an approximat cost for such surgeries!! just roughly.
Avatar f tn Hello, With time, there may be a reduction in appearance of scar and more over at such a young age, it is not advisable to opt for plastic surgery if the presenting symptom is only cosmetic in nature. After a few years, you can consult a plastic surgeon and discuss the treatment options with him. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn your spelling and perception is wrong. It's acryl short for acrylic plastic. PMMA is hard plastic and not used much anymore since it won't fold and go through small incision.
Avatar f tn I just wanted to thank you for your straight forward answer.. I have been trying to get such an answer now since the implant/areola reconstruction. The skin is pliable and perhaps after the adjustment I would "touch it up" with tattooing. This was all done for DCIS Stage 0 without any radiation or chemo (my father died of bc) This renews my hope - I wouldn't have had this done at all here if I hadn't been told (after three other plastic surgeons consults!
Avatar f tn For a double mastectomy, which implant would be the safest? Silicone, saline, or biological? How proven are the implants made from fatty tissue in abdomen? Thanks.
Avatar n tn It will be best for you to go to the cleft lip/palate section of the American Society of plastic surgery web site and they have pictures of how the repair is done. That will be much better than a complex written answer. Sorry, but I think that will be much better for you.
Avatar f tn That being a standard pedicled tram not requiring an implant, the latissimus back flap that gives immediate reconstruction with an implant and usually gives a nice match to the other reduced breast, and finally the expander route where you have two surgeries, with about 7 months between and that is a solely implant procedure, and in the right hands can get a fairly good match. Since you have not had radiation, you can choose any of these.I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn She is now 17 and painfully aware of this difference. She has tried numerous exercises to no avail and has asked us to look into plastic surgery. We were told 13 years ago there was no procedure to correct this. Have medical advances been made in this area? If so, what is the approximate cost of the surgery? Is she a candidate or is she still too young? Thank you in advance for help, she started college this year and is not feeling too good about herself.
