Common Questions and Answers about Lip collagen surgery

Avatar f tn Surgery can’t be done on scar tissue due to the fact that tissue regrowth on a scar isn’t stable enough for sutures (lack of collagen) so, to keep the sutures in place, it would be necessary to go deeper or use tissue surrounding the scar. This would cause the scar on your lip to be larger, or more noticeable, than the existing one and the skin might grow in as a slightly different color. is that true doctor?
Avatar n tn Hello, This lip scarring can be healed by laser resurfacing, collagen fillers or by plastic surgery. There is no topical treatment to heal such scarring of the lips. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn and i got three stitches on the chin beacuse of this my chin and lower lip got dislocated slightly .how can it be brought back to original position .
Avatar n tn The first few days, when I moved them, lines would appear and they looked like they lost shape a bit on the top lip. They look better now, and lines went away, but they're still not the same as they were before. Do you think I have I lost some collagen or elasticity? Could that happen to someone my age? (I'm 18.) I know it sounds funny that I think it might have been what I did, but they were fine before I did that.
Avatar m tn A few years ago I was swimming in a crowded pool and got elbowed in the face, which caused one of my teeth to puncture my lip. Ever since, I have this condensed ball in my lip that sort of has a white stripe. I recently got fed up with it, and was wondering if there is a way to get rid of it?

Avatar n tn Actually She had undergone to a surgery twice. Because there are new lumps in her breast after a year of the surgery. And now she has another big lump again on her left breast. The lumps that were removed before were all benign and not cancerous. They are like a cyst. But I remembered that when my OB had these needle biopsy, the sample that she got from the lumps was oily and clear. It is like an oil which can be the collagen I said.
Avatar f tn I had an angioma (red spot) removed from above my upper lip. They used a needle to cauterize the spot which was supposed to make it go away. It took a number of injections over several visits before the redness seemed to respond and fade a bit. But in it's place, I now have a triangular shaped divet about the size of the head of a pin where the skin is missing and no longer flush with the rest of my skin above my top lip.
Avatar f tn I am a 61 yr old female who recently developed deep lip and mouth lines over the last couple of years. I am a non smoker but I do facial exercises which may cause me to purse my lips more. Is there anything I can do to soften these lines or make them disappear. I am not consistant with my moisturizers so need to keep at that better than I have been. Any suggestions?
1276940 tn?1564515084 Hello.....I was dx with Pars Planitis (both eyes) back in Sept of 2015. I was also dx with Sjogren's Syndrome (via lip biopsy) on 4/22/16. I have not yet started on any medications for SS. My next Rheumy appt is 5/6 and I am assuming I will be started on meds then (currently experiencing CHRONIC dry mouth, fatigue, muscle/joint aches). I have asked several questions before about PP.....what I am curious about now is this.......I have read that SS is an inflammatory illness.

Avatar f tn I had metacril injections two weeks ago in Costa Rica to my lips and nasalabial folds. The metacril in the bottom lip has now turned into hard bumps, which I think was the result of going and having my teeth whitened afterwards and the Zoom laser hitting that area so long. Has anyone else had experience with metacril? Any recommended plastic surgeons in the Dallas area I can go to and follow up with this issue? Thanks!

638291 tn?1233060603 I would like to find out if it's ok to take liquid collagen and what are the benefits Than you
Avatar m tn Thanks in advance for your information.
Avatar f tn I keep having it aspirated, Dr R, and it just keeps on coming back! I look like I have a double chin. I get so excited at the prospect of less fluid being aspirated, then the next morning when I take off the compress to look, there it is again! I have been told that the collagen once it "kicks in" will help but I know nothing about that; can u explain this "collagen" process to me, ie.
Avatar f tn The vitrectomy will make the cataract progress and will make future cataract surgery more difficult. Get a few opinions to determine the cause of the problem. Have you tried drops to constrict your pupil? Dr. O.
Avatar f tn Attend to your hydration needs as it is a crucial component of maintaining skin elasticity. Eat protein-rich foods such as cottage cheese, milk, legumes, tofu, beans, seeds, nuts, and fish all contain collagen and elastin forming components, as well as oils to help maintain healthy skin. Also, using skin care products like firming lotion or body wraps can help the skin appear more tightened, toned, and firmed.
Avatar m tn The reason that collagen supplements do not work as desired by us is that the collagen found in collagen supplements and collagen pills is unable to assimilate itself in the complex matrix of collagen that is present in our body. The only problem with liquid collagen and collagen supplements is that they are all synthetic in nature. Therefore they do not mix too well with the pure collagen that has all the benefits Keep in mind that pure collagen can only be produced naturally by the body.
Avatar m tn The other day I decided to research a bit on hbv and collagen and it turns out that there is a lot of research about other types of collagen (there is at least 16 types of collagen) that can potentially cure chirrhosis or even lead to liver injury, but I couldnt fine anything related to HBV and collagen type 1&3. Very confusing ....but like i said above, there are lots of different types of collagen and they each can influence your liver in a different way.
Avatar m tn L5 S1 dehydrated could mean you lack collagen. we have collagen between each disk. In my case I have no collagen between my disks for what ever reasons. I am 48 and that's been the case for years. So it can happen as we age or it can be a degenerative condition. S1 issues can cause low back pain with pain radiating down your legs. If you have severe leg pain they may want to address that stenosis. But so far it sounds like you have nerve impingement at L4 level possible L5.
Avatar n tn Hi, I also had a surgery to my lower lip 3 weeks ago. I had an accident 20 years ago, fell and bit through my lip. I had a couple of stitches at the time and after, developped a large hard lump on my lip. I had it "removed" 8 years ago but there was still some bump left. So 3 weeks ago, I decided to do it again and for the last time. It looks flat in front of my lip and this is good BUT there is a lot of hard tissue inside the lip and some hard swelling in the inner lip.
Avatar m tn Hey guys, this is interesting, if I mix collagen (one tablespoon), glutamine (one teaspoon) and psyllium husk (2 to 4 tablespoons), and take it every day, it really helps lower my condition. As you know collagen and glutamine both heal wounds in the gut. The digestive track can be 9 meters long so no doctor in the history of medicine has ever looked through the entire gut lining of a living human.
89592 tn?1391274422 Have your doctor look into TNF-a (stimulating collagen deposition) and Interleukin-6( inhibiting collagen degradation) as possible causative agents in this process. Ref. PMID: 7770462 This suspicion is consistent with CVDs profiles. In the meanwhile, should you be interested to look at holistic approaches to inflammatory processes, let me know. Wish you well!
Avatar m tn They form a depression or sunken area because of damage to the collagen, fat or other tissues below the skin. In such scars, apart from plastic surgery, laser resurfacing is also helpful. They can be safely and effectively resurfaced through the proper use of a high-energy, pulsed or scanned carbon dioxide (CO2) or Erbium-Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet (Er:YAG) laser.
Avatar m tn These results were confirmed both by liver histology and by quantitative measurement of hepatic hydroxyproline content, a marker of liver collagen deposition. Accordingly, inhibition of proliferation, reduced collagen deposition, and type 1 collagen expression were observed in activated HSC-T6 cells following GT treatment.
