I have a blister inside my upper lip and it has blistered, burst, healed, blistered, burst, healed etc. for a year and a half now. The healing only lasts for a single day. In one week it will have gone through two cycles. It is painful to brush my teeth and sometimes to eat and I have to avoid drinks that are citric. I have been to the doctor several times and three months ago he finally took a good look with a light and saw it. He promised to refer me to a specialist but nothing has happened.

Now three days later, my lower right lip where the inside of the lip meets feels a little irritated but no visible blister. I have been out in the sun and wind but I have had tests in the past showing that I'm neg for both types. Just curious if it is plausible to pick it up from touching something someone got their saliva /mouth on just seconds before I touched the same inanimate object.
Please advise.
They are a term interchangable between the different types of virus. Another term used for HSV-1 and HSV-2 is a fever blister. The timeline for HSV sore/blister to disappear is typically 7-10 days unless this is an inital infection which can take a little longer to heal. HSV can cause sores in any place in the mouth including tongue, lips, chin, or even the nose.

I have a red patch on my upper lip that is red, dry, but no blister and does not itch. It burns when I get somethign acidic on it. I noticed that I had a blister under my tongue a few day ago. My upper lip feels a bit tight, like after getting windburn. I did have a scab over the area, like a layer of soft skin. I'm 51 years old, female.
About 2 months ago I got a red blood blister on my bottom lip, a month went by and I didnt really think too much about it and left it.....after that it was annoying me and I decided that my best option would be to pop the blister to get rid of it. I know now that this was a very bad decision!! The blister formed into a scab which bled a couple more times when I caught the scab....it looked very unsightly and my friend advised the best thing to do is put on some blistex.
I have had oral cold sores my whole life and get a blister on my lip once or twice a year. Soon after kissing and having oral and vaginal sex with my boyfriend I noticed I had a tingly feeling which soon after became a cold sore blister on my lip. He was concerned that I had given him both oral and genital herpes. He took a course of my Acyclovir (400 mg, 3x a day, for five days). He did not get a blister anywhere.
Later, I had a blood test for HSV-1 and 2 and I was positive for only HSV-1.
To keep it short, my boyfriend came to see me on a Monday and gave me a kiss and a couple hours later I noticed a bump on my lip. I didn't think anything of it til the next morning when I seen it had inflated into a very small oval shape and what felt and looked like pus inside. It was confirmed pus when my finger nails accidently tore it open on the bottom a bit when I was playing with my lip.
About 6 days ago I was watching Seinfeld and eating 2 overly salted cucumbers and when I got to the bottom of the bowl I felt the left side of my bottom lip go numb and tingly and when I looked in the mirror I found there was a clear blister that had formed on the inner part of my bottom lip on the left side. By the following morning the blister had downgraded in size but was still quite blatantly a blister. It was now a clearish/white color and wasn't really all that painful.

I keep getting this weird white thing on my bottom lip (not sure if it's in the same spot or not...I can't remember). It does happen when I'm sick, in the sun, or stressed more than other times, but it isn't like a typical cold sore. It looks like a white area like chapped lips, but I can't scrape it off. I have been trying, but it won't work. The skin above it puffs up like crazy and I scrape it of, but then this still remains.

So sorry to bother you, I just have one more question. The spot I described on my lip hasn't developed into a blister yet (knock on wood) and it's been there since yesterday morning. It's still a pink spot that's slightly raised on the corner of my lip. I believe it is too far on my lip to be a pimple because it's not on the edge really. It's only kind of tender occasionally if I press on it nothing else. Could this still be HSV1?
I have had a "blood blister" on my bottom lip for more than a year now. It sort of gets better in the winter time. I remember going to a dermatologist once when I was younger and him giving me steroids for it and it kind of went away, but not all the way. My bottom lip is very sensitive to foods that are acidic and spicy. Toothpaste kills! I do have Polymorphous light eruption and I am wondering if it has anything to do with it? Or maybe if it's Bullous Pemphigoid?
ve only ever had a cold sore in my life. I was only applying lip balm when I noticed a bump on my lip, which became a blister (one blister) after a few hours. No pain, no itching, no tingling. I was wondering how I could have gotten it, and based on facts the primary infection is usually the worst. And the recurrent outbreaks just show single sores.
Is it possible for a recurrent outbreak to be worse than a primary infection? I don't recall having any in the past. Thanks so much.
I noticed a single painless blister on my lip 24 hours ago. I believe that it developed after trying to rip skin from my lip with my teeth two days and pulling skin of my lip manually a couple of days ago because of chapped lips. However, I was really suprised to see a blister develop. As I stated, it is a single painless blisterin the center of my my lip, not along the edge or corner of my mouth.
I was 7 or 8 when i started biting my bottom lip it eventually caused what i believe to be a small blood blister. It has faded considerbly as i have not bit my lip in over 25 years, however it has not disappeared and every now and then it becomes really noticable. I have noticed a few smaller ones like needle pricks that have just appeared. My question is what are they caused from and how do you treat them?
If you kissed her it could be. Or if you gave oral sex. This isn't as common but still a posibility.
a blister on your lips? Today I saw two dry raised spots in the middle of my upper lip (where the upper and lower lip meet) and I pulled them off, with nothing being revealed there. A cold sore wouldn't behave like that would it?
I will get tested down the road for both to ease my mind, but I just wanted your perspective on this. Thanks again.
