Avatar f tn Im 37 years old and just had my first baseline mammogram in preparation for breast augmentation surgery. I am scheduled for a stereotactic biopsy for an area of calcifications that were found in my right breast. My questions are, what are my chances that this could be a sign of cancer, and praying that its not, would I still be a candidate for breast augmentation surgery? Im worrying myself sick over all of this and very nervous about the results!
20851297 tn?1536988232 Breast augmentation, or augmentation mammoplasty, is a very common procedure today, and multiple studies have shown that the procedure is quite safe. Women choose this surgery for a variety of reasons including correction of a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy, enhancement of body contour for women who feel their breasts are too small, and to create symmetry between two breasts.

958880 tn?1263678827 Well this is not your average question. I am scheduled to have a breast augmentation Aug 12th. My last period was July 13th. I just had a miscarriage in June so my husband I are waiting to ttc until December. In the mean time I thought it would be nice to have BA. Well this past weekend was my husbands birthday. We had a huge party. Well both of us were intoxicated so we had sex without protection twice. Now I'm worried I may be pregnant.
Avatar n tn I have been thinking about getting breast augmentation for a couple of years now, but I have been worrying about a few things lately. When I was younger, I got my belly button pierced and my body rejected it. I also have had knee surgery and a screw was placed in my knee cap. After a year, the screw started to hurt and caused me numerous problems. The doctor told me that it was probably infected and it needed to be removed.

Avatar n tn I went into breast augmentation surgery with one breast smaller than the other (pretty normal, I know). I was a small 34A and am 5'2 and 100 pounds. My surgeon chose 350 cc Mentor Moderate Plus gel implants for both sides and I did not question this, foolishly, prior to surgery as I figured he knew what he was doing. Now 10 days post-op my left breast is noticeably smaller than the right, just as before surgery.
581359 tn?1454006442 I have a question for any of you women that had a breast augmentation before they got pregnant... Did it affect the pregnancy at all? How big did they get, did you get stretch marks? Were you able to breastfeed? How did they look after the pregnancy or after breastfeeding? I've got two girls, breastfed them both until they were almost a year. I do wish to get pregnant again in the future. I'm trying to decide if I should get cost free breast augmentation now, or later.
Avatar n tn While skin expanders are used in breast reconstruction to stretch a flattened chest wall after mastectomy, they are almost never used for routine augmentation. Silicone gel implants avoid the rippling commonly seen with saline implants, and do feel more natural. I have extensive experience removing the older leaking gel implants, which are more difficult to remove than the current, more cohesive implants. I never "redo" an augmentation on a routine basis.
Avatar n tn A lot of women wait to do any plastic surgery until after having their last baby, so they can tune up and tighten up anything they want at that time without being concerned that all the expensive plastic surgery is going to be blown out of the water by a subsequent pregnancy. Good luck in any case.
Avatar f tn I have a breast augmentation scheduled for Tuesday. Friday I got the results from my mammogram and they detected calcifications on my left breast that were not there 2 years ago. They would like me to have a follow up mammogram in 6 months. Both my breast surgeon and GYN have talked on the phone to each other and the likelihood of this being anything other than benign is very low.
Avatar f tn i went back six months later as my right breast fells slightly harder and there is a lump on the side its not a hard lump i can manipulate it back in, the surgeon recommended to massage my breast and hopefully it would improve if not to wait 18 months after my surgery until all the swelling has gone down.

My implants are sub-muscular and my incision was made in my areola. Has anyone else been in my situation and if so how did breastfeeding go?

Avatar f tn t know if I can even breast-feed anyone have the same surgery and could feed their baby after having that type of surgery.
Avatar n tn I had calf augmentation as a result of a condition I had as a child whereby my calf muscles did not fully develope. The surgery went ok except for this: my SURAL nerve was either damaged or is irritated. The implant must be pressing on it or the surgeon damaged it. Regardless, the lateral foot pain is horrid! The surgeon recommended removing the implant and removing the nerve while he was in there. I am now 6-weeks post op. Thoughts? 1) Should I be concerned with anything?
Avatar n tn m scared and Is wondering if there is any mamas out there that has bf with breast augmentation and what was your experience I want to breastfeed but not sure if I'm even going to produce enough milk, also what was the outcome after you finish bf did your boobs sag or stood the same.
Avatar n tn hi - i too have implants. I just turned 34 and have had them for 15 years. Holy cow, has it been that long? Wow. Anyway, I wouldn't get silicone or any sort of gel. Should one rupture, it can cause issues. I did have one rupture after the stupid docs poked a wire through one of my implants during heart surgery and was glad it was saline. It just flattened in a minute but didn't cause any issues because the saline is sterile and absorbed by the body without issue.
Avatar n tn This is not a complaint that I am aware of occurring in many years of medical practice and breast augmentation surgery. Your post-operative infections may have resulted in increased vascularity to the area, particularly if that is the area of your incision. Sometimes laser therapy may be helpful. Assuming your subsequent surgery occurs without complication, I would not expect it to make this problem worse.
1613743 tn?1298469227 Hi ladies, well I basically just need some opinions. I am thinking about getting breast augmentation after I have the baby my first question is : If I'm not breast feeding how long does it usually take for the production of milk to stop so that I may have the surgery? The other thing is that I am getting really bad stretch marks on my breast only because I used to be very small and I wanted to know: Does breast augmentation basically restretch your skin so that the marks look less visible?
Avatar n tn What's the difference between socket preservation and ridge augmentation? Is socket preservation preferred for a lower molar and ridge augmentation for an upper molar?
Avatar n tn When I was a baby I had a mass of blood vessels in my lower lip that burst and as a result there was scar tissue in the inside of my lip which left a small raised puffy area on the surface that was a white shade. I had a plastic surgeon look at it and he said he could cut on the small indent that was already there and remove some of the scar tissue to improve the appearance.
Avatar f tn Thanks for taking the time to address my concerns. I'm so relieved that my fears are unfounded.
