lidoderm

Avatar f tn I am in same boat. My doc prescribed me a muscle relaxer, flexeril. Which is also a class b drug.
Avatar n tn 3) Lidoderm patches are patches with topical lidocaine, which works as a pain reliever. Lidoderm can work for low back pain among other things. Lidoderm, unlike Flector patches and Voltaren gel, is not a topical anti-inflammatory but rather a numbing medicine applied to the skin. 4) An over the counter option, though not as well studied, is Aspercreme cream, which is a topical salicylate (aspirin) pain reliever. It works by reducing swelling and inflammation in the muscle and joints.
Avatar n tn Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there using lidoderm patches for back and/or neck pain? My neurosurgeon just prescribed them for me--they're a topical anesthetic patch. I tried one, it seemed to help briefly. I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.
Avatar f tn t heard anyone say they tried Lidoderm patches-they work well for any part of your body you are in pain, and you can cut the patches into smaller ones if you want. They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.
563571 tn?1232491190 Do any or many of you use Lidoderm patches for pain? I used them some before getting Trimadol and still think about using them along with the Trimadol, but have some concerns. For several days I used them on hip, leg and knee (by instructions for number of patches and length of time) and did get some relief; however, my calf is swollen and very, very numb to the touch, but also burning badly.
934553 tn?1275274379 Hi, a lot of people benefit from the Lidoderm patches. I hope it helps. I completely understand about life consisting only of work and sleep. That doesn't make much of a life. That exquisite sensitivity to light touch is called allodynia. Often a firm touch is tolerable, but the light brushing of clothes or a light touch from another person is unbearable. Seems backward, but it is common. Another addition that can help the Cymbalta is a low-dose of amiltrityline at night.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with Lidoderm Pain Patches? I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
1182304 tn?1349305951 Just wondering if many on here have tried the Lidoderm patch? I have actually found it to help take off the sharp edges of pain in my back. I guess some insurances per my doc are kinda against it for anything other then for shingle pain, but my insurance did approve it for my chronic back pain.
Avatar n tn Noven Pharmaceuticals wants to come out with one as well, but their being tied up by Endo and a bunch of FDA nonsense. This is a more recent article about Watson: http://www.empr.
Avatar f tn [16] This decrease compels those addicted to the dopaminergenic-effect of the drug, to increase the drug consumption in order to re-create the earlier or initial experiences and to bring their "feel-good" hormone level back to normal —an effect known as tolerance. And now what does that all mean, your brain needs to heal because it is causing you pain to feed it. This will pass I promise. The best thing you can do for yourself right now is get into a hot tub, sauna or hot shower.
Avatar n tn All 3 meds mentioned are class C drugs, which means none have been tested on pregnant women, but have shown to cause defomities or problems in laboratory animals. I would strongly think twice about getting pregnant while being on all of these meds. Ask yourself if the benefits out weigh the risks.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.
1326416 tn?1370927001 THIS ISN'T REALLY A QUESTION, BUT A COMMENT! ----- My pain doctor has stopped writing any and all prescriptions for oxycontin and oxycodone. She was suspicious why some patients only wanted oxycontin or oxycodone for their pain, as well as patients claiming it's the only drug(s) that helped their pain. I understand the suspicion, and would wonder about the same thing myself, considering all the different pain medications available nowadays.
230948 tn?1235844329 Hi Guys, sorry for spelling in title, i am being taken off lyrica slowly and conazpam and was immediatly taken off miripexin (dopimine drug) as i had a pyscotic episode, i was nearly sectioned and the whole thing was the most scary two weeks of my life, it was about 6 weeks ago now but it was due to a cocktail of drugs i was on at the time i was also on a opiod pain patch as welland acupan as well. i was like a zoombie!!
Avatar f tn It all depends on the source of your pain and the type of pain you're having. First of all, you're already on an antidepressant, so I'm not sure whether you can even take another one, like Cymbalta, or Triavil. . and Triavil has Amitriptyline in it. So, if the Amitriptyline is working for you at all, I can't see a reason to switch to another one. The Gabitril and Neurontin will only help most likely, if you're having nerve-related pain....
Avatar n tn He is behind his peers. He is also the youngest in his class. Prior teachers have mentioned his short attention span. He has no behavior problems. I have spent 3 entire days researching so I am fully prepared for his doctor appointment next week. I want to rule out any other causes for his attention. If he is diagnosed with ADD, I want to try everything before drugs.
Avatar f tn What are the odds of those of us that are suffering from from tooth decay and paying outrageously for doctors appointments, prescriptions, and now dentists and dental bills, what do we need or have to do to begin a class action lawsuit? Four members of my family have been on subutex for about 6 years some for general pain and some for addiction and we all have the same issues with decaying teeth and such. Our doctor has no means of tapering us off but we all have started ourselves.
Avatar f tn With my first bb i never took a birthing class n i was gonna do it without the epadural too but the pain was so unbearable to where i had to get it!
408795 tn?1324935675 ), what typically happens is they get out on parole, fail the terms of parole (as drug tested during parole), serve out entire sentence, then go straight back to drug use. Unless prisioners are drug tested and can prove they are clean, I don't see the point in treatment, the odds of reinfection are just too high IMO.
Avatar n tn Another similar but newer drug is Lyrica. I have used that for nerve pain other than PAD and it is somewhat effective. The cost is significantly higher however. Also, you may ask your Doctor about using Lidoderm patches. I use these for back pain and for a rotator cuff tear and it is very effective for me but I am also thin. My nerve damage has not repaired itself and usually it does not.
424839 tn?1268186246 So when going up against some one with a drug habit you have to remember that it is a learned behavior to take the drug along with the intense desire to take the drug.
Avatar m tn I know what you mean about the firelike feeling of nerve pain. Unfortunately, there are no good medications on the market yet for this. That's why they have been prescribing off-label use of medications for Epilepsy like neurontin/gabapentin etc. etc. There doesn't seem to be any real good research on the use of this class of drugs for this nerve problem either. Some people do get some relief, but from what I know most patients can't tolerate the side effects of these drugs.
Avatar m tn The Neurologists prescribed me Medrol Dosepak and some Lidoderm patches. Im not big on taking medicines, not even tylenol unless I have to. When reading up on Medrol Dosepaks, I saw that its used to treat arthritis and many other things as a steroid. One thing that caught my eye was this... "· Do not stop taking Medrol Dosepak suddenly if you have been taking it for a few weeks. You may need a gradual reduction in dosage before you stop taking this medication. " http://www.
Avatar f tn t find them particulaly helpful. My class just covered what I had already read in the 1 pregnancy book I bought so I talked to the instructor and stopped going.
