lidocaine sore throat

Hey. I went to my PCP yesterday and he gave me a LIDODERM, a lidocaine patch, to try and help with the pain in my neck -he thinks if that calms down so will the migraines.. theyve been everyday constantly for well over a month and a half, and no meds help.. nor do therapeutic methods i have here at home.. Has anyone here used it before? And did it help? I tried to use it last night but it wouldnt stick to my neck.

Yesterday afternoon, I suddenly got a sore throat- it got worse as the day progressed and I woke up with my throat hurting even worse. It hurt so bad that it actuallly woke me up at 4am and prevented me from going back to sleep. Today, my throat is killing me. It feels like I am swallowing knives & the pain is really bad if I drink, eat, breathe through my mouth and it especially hurts if I talk. I have actually held my throat with my hand while talking to prevent it from moving much.

A year ago, I had routine knee surgery and when I woke up my throat was sore. The anesthesiologist told me it would be sore for a day or son because she had to use "too big of a tube," she didn't have one that fit down my throat. Oky, well, I didn't think anything of it, but literally two days later I was sicker than a dog. Vomiting so horrible I had to walk around with a trash can!

6 fever on day 3. While the fever was fading, I started to have a really sore throat that kept me up all night, then a dry cough that gradually turned wet and chesty. And now on day 7, the fever is back again, the cough is getting much worse, and I completely lost my voice. I will be on an oversea trip in 3 days. Not sure how I could travel feeling so sick like this. Really need tips on how to get over this severe cold (or flu?) sooner. Thanks so much!

I felt so tired, i got a fever and burning pain when i was urinating. doctor diagnosed me with UTI. Also I got a sore on the back of my throat. For my UTI doctor prescribe me amoxicillin and for my sore lidocaine viscous. On saturday night i noticed that i have a sore around vagina area. The sore is circle shaped red and looks it is fill with puss. Today i woke up i found 5 new sores. Are they herpes. Im freaking out .

for the past 16 days I have had an extremely sore throat. it started off mild enough. dr put me on amoxil for 7 days. finished it up, by the time I finished it, my throat was worse. then i was prescribed biaxin xl for 10 days, today is day number 10 and the past 2 days i have felt like i'm swallowing razor blades (no exaggeration) when i swallow drink or eat, it's so painful. tylenol and naproxen are no longer working.

I had the one under the tongue at the back of throat and thought I had a sore throatuntil others appeared in one cheek area. Used Biotene mouthwash 3-4 times a day and they started to clear up.. Also had lidocaine swish by prescription to paint on before eating. Didn't 'swish' in mouth because didn't want to bite myself with a numb tongue. It takes a few days for them to start to clear.

I agree with AnnieBrooke - you need to be seen by a different doctor! And preferably an ear, nose and throat doc! When you have a throat so sore that you can barely swallow, can't eat at all and have ulcers on your tonsils, SOMETHING definitely needs to be done! Did your doc even bother to do a strep test or anything? Strep throat can also cause ulcers in the throat and mouth and strep is definitely something that neeeds to be treated with antibiotics.

I had a FNA on Thursday and had been assured that the most painful part of the procedure was the injection of lidocaine. This was definitely not the case, as the physician didn't give time for the lidocaine to set in before he began the procedure. After the 3rd biopsy I told him we were going to have to stop the test because of the pain. At that point he told the nurse to give more lidocaine.

Hi Growzer, I'm in Canada, too. Do you have access to a walk-in clinic? Most docs know about Magic Mouthwash. You can also make it yourself in a pinch: equal parts Mylanta, children's Benadryl and viscous lidocaine. The lidocaine can be purchased without a prescription (it's kept behind the counter). Keep in a clean bottle in the fridge, shake well before using as needed. This will tide you over until Tuesday.

No test for mono, just swollen lymph nodes and tonsils. I had a big scare it was form hiv but im negative on that thankgod. If its mono, then what do i do? does it go away on its own.

hi there i also have a tight throat sometimes it gets really bad too its been going on for about 5 days now.The doctor perscribed me lidocaine(numbing throat sullution)and something to calm down my stomach also prevacide.I get so scared at night time ive also lost 10lbs or more cause im on a soft food/liquid diet cause im affraid im gonna choke.

My first ultra sound FNA was a done by a Radiologist. I felt the 1st stick of lidocaine. I didn't feel the other needle sticks, but felt lots of pressure. The Radiologist seemed to have lots of problems getting the needle into the nodule even though it was ultra sound guided. He poked around in me for about 25 minutes before getting a sample. I was scared to death and could feel the needle inside my throat every time I swallowed. Two days later, I was told the sample was not adequate.

Most are ok as above post but there are some on the community whose hurt alot .. usually it isn't too bad .. actually, usually less than a dentist needle is what I found to be in my case.

Is anyone else having any issues with their mouth? My tongue is sore and it appears to have tiny sores on the sides of it. I also have a metallic numb feeling\taste. I know it sounds weird but its the best description I can give. It is starting to hurt at times when I am eating.

I have a hole in the cartilage of my nose the size of an pencil eraser and it hurts like hell everyday! I have tried all nasal gels, all otc medications for pain, I even sprayed bactine up my nose last night hoping it would numb the pain. It did for a few mins then started hurting again. Along with all the other crappy side effects, all of a sudden my tongue gets red and irritated and stays that way. Also, the back of my throat is very sore. So I called my perpetually upbeat nurse and she suggest I have Thrush Mouth, which reminds me of an old Zappa tune called Stink Foot. Sorry... Now I am taking a throat lozenge named Clotrimazole. It isn't working. Has anyone else experienced "Cracked Tongue Syndrome"? How did relief come?

Once symptoms start to get better, they tend to improve rapidly. She'll probably be a lot better by Monday.

It probably isn't the lidocaine, it's the epinephrine that is in the lidocaine. You can ask your dentist to use an anesthetic without epinephrine, I have had tons of dental work and always ask for that. Dentist doesn't mind at all and I've never had any problems. It doesn't last as long but if you start to feel anything while they are working the dentist will just give you more. I have done fine with it.

I had devleloped something on my throat as well when I was txing. I went to dentist , and he referred to to an oral surgeon right away. Oral surgeon said it was a pigment that had developed from tx. I would check it out so you can treat it asap.

My symptoms include swollen lymph node on my right side, very horrible sore throat, puffy eye lids, and also my ears clog up like when I'm up in an airplane, and I can't really hear anything. Ive already been to the doctor's and I tested negative for strep, but would you think I have mono? Someone please help me, I can't really talk or eat that much because my sore throat hurts so badly.
