My orbital itself is what hurts and I do not have vision loss. We have tried injections of lidocaine, steroids, steroid drops, oral steriods, indocin, and gabapentin; none of which have helped. No fever, no signs of a cold. The nurse at the office told us we could use infant saline drops and then use the nose aspirator to clear it out. We also tilted her mattress up(placed a thin pillow under her crib mattress) to help her breath better at night. The nurse said this was fine to do. All of this was done after I checked with the pediatrican of course. She is doing much better and her feeding is better now, too, since she can breath while she eats!

It really helps kill the pain but ultimately I am still hooked on snorting my pills and snorting the painkillers kill the pain in my nose for alot longer than my lidocaine. So i still feel stuck! I want off these damn painkillers I have completed withdrawal 4 times in the last 5 years it is just that hard. I have relapsed every time. I will say this though. The last time I quit i had the lidocaine to help me with the nose pain and it really did help.

It's not likely. It could be one of the other "caines": Marcaine,Lidocaine, etc...anesthetics like Novacaine that you get at the dentist. Pharmeceutical grade cocaine is used medically but more for nose,throat surgeries.

m a general doctor and a few hrs ago I was suturing a deep hand cut. When injecting lidocaine, some of it, probably mixed with the patient's blood drops, spurted and landed on my face (around the mouth I believe) and glasses. Hi, eye drops can drain into the nose and affect the nasal mucosa. The bleeding could be a side effect of the prednisone drops. But considering the fact that there is a bump inside the nose, this needs to be looked onto. It could be a hematoma, which is collection of blood or it could even be a growth or tumor which can cause nasal bleeding. She will need to consult an ENT specialist to detect the cause. Regards.
