I have an erectile dysfunction since I have put xylocaine lidocaine 5% gel on my penis. The gel has expired since 2013 and I am feared also that I have put a lot. I don't think the cream is lidocaine, although they usually do mix some lidocaine in with the serum after they draw it out of the patient's vial. You should talk to his dr about the cream. I know that patients at my allergist's office that use it (some are adults) wear plastic wrap on their arm for the 30 before the shot. I am sure that your dr will know about it.
I have been on the Lidocain patch for a few years and at my last PM visit he suggested the Lidocain cream 1%. My copay on the patch was $50 month and my copay on the cream $5 so I am using the cream which actually works better as I can apply the cream to my low back myself where the patch not so easy.
My doctor prescribed 3% lidocaine/0.5% hydrocortisone cream (which took two days to get). I was also using the hemorrhoid cream. In addition, I was using about 4-5 baby wipes to clean the area each time so that there was not one speck of anythiong left to irritate the hemorrhoids. Interestingly enough, about 6 days after that pain started, it began to decrease and after a couple more days, it was almost gone. I still had the external hemorrhoids but the hemorrhoid cream took care of them.
They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain.
Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
m prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.
My local doctor was wary of all the side effects and wanted to try a neurontin cream compounded with doxipen and lidocaine. This combo seems to help some days but other days it makes the itch so much worse. Has anyone else tried these compounded creams? What strength and what were the medications involved?
So I did my research and ended up purchasing a vaginal dilator set and asked my doctors to prescribe lidocaine which is a numbing cream that helps with feeling no pain down there at all! By using lube, lidocaine and my dilators for months I was finally able to have Intercourse for the the very first time.
s the only thing I found sometimes benadryl cream has worked but not as good as the lidocaine.
BTW- have Biotene toothpaste/rinse-burns, lips are cracked and covered in the densest face cream I can find.
try topical anelgesic cream it does wonders for mine, if that does not work ask your sdocto for somethin containg lidocaine

The itching by this point has subsided. So I started applying aloe gel with. 5% lidocaine. This is a miracle as it numbs very nicely. I went to my OBGYN and she gave me lidocaine gel and antihistamines to take daily which I have been doing for 6 months.
The surgeon prescribed me Augmentin 625mg twice a day for 5 days. And lidocaine+fucidin cream (fusidic acid) to apply on the rectum and the ulcer. I have been doing that but the ulcer doesn't seem to heal. Also, Augmentin has given me diarrhea in the past so I was not very satisfied with his prescription. About 5-6 days after the ulcer developed, I got a few itchy bumps on my tailbone area/just at the top end of the crack. They are flesh colored and very itchy.
I am using Benadryl, Keri lotion, and Hydrocortizone cream for the rash and itching, but I will admit, so far mine has been mild.
As for the Fire in the Hole, that side effect has been a doozy. I am using unscented baby wipes with aloe after going to the BR (Huggies), hemorrhoid cream, sometimes A&D ointment (for any outer excoriation), prescription Lidocaine 3%/Hydrocortizone 0.5% cream, and hemorrhoid suppositories.
