Avatar n tn procaine (Novocain), lidocaine, benzocaine, and others) in fact are fairly likely to cause allergic reactions. So although I haven't heard of such reactions (but neither do I follow that particular medical literature, so I may have missed it), it doesn't surprise me. Don't do anything, just sit tight. If still inflamed after a few more days, you might try an over-the-counter steroid cream such as hydrocortisone.
Avatar n tn It did keep coming back but I would just put cream on it for a day and it would be gone. How I hated the rashes and the itching! I do hope you get some relief.
2147300 tn?1369693288 Application of 1 percent hydrocortisone cream up to four times daily will help decrease itchiness and help to dry the rash (I used use a more potent topical mixed with a little lidocaine) The itch: Benadryl or Hydroxizine every four to six hours will help decrease itchiness but may also cause drowsiness. Trust me on this: topical Benadryl cream irritates the rash more than it helps. Keep in mind, anything that increases body heat will increase the itchiness of the rash. http://www.
Avatar n tn he gave me antibiotics and nystatin and triamcinolone cream i have been on this cream over 5 days and no progress. the fissure is at the top of the hood area and therefore cracks open again every time i sit down to pee or wash or get up from sitting on the floor..i switched to wearing boxer shorts all day and night and no help there..god does anyone have any helpful ideas?!!!!
Avatar n tn clamidia and gonorhea both negative, but the Dr had given me a Zithromax pack just in case and some more potent yeast infection cream. The cream hurt bad and the Zpack did nothing. I went to my OBGYN and she too did another pelvic exam, said all looked normal, but very bright red and raw, said to use otc Cortizone ointment so it would heal, she thinks i may be allergic to the white base creams now, but i never was before. I did that for a week, nothing.
Avatar n tn Hello, Causes of itchy anal rash include moisture(due to sweating or frequent washing), the abrasion caused by clothing, the pressure of sitting, chemical irritants like laundry soaps, colognes and scented toilet paper, certain food irritants, medicines like some antibiotics and laxatives, infections like STD’s and pinworms, anal abrasions and fissures and skin problems such as psoriasis, seborrhea and eczema. Sometimes hemorrhoids will start off as red rash and anal itching.
Avatar f tn I am using Benadryl, Keri lotion, and Hydrocortizone cream for the rash and itching, but I will admit, so far mine has been mild. As for the Fire in the Hole, that side effect has been a doozy. I am using unscented baby wipes with aloe after going to the BR (Huggies), hemorrhoid cream, sometimes A&D ointment (for any outer excoriation), prescription Lidocaine 3%/Hydrocortizone 0.5% cream, and hemorrhoid suppositories.
Avatar f tn ask for a prescription of Hydroxyzone and I would also add go ahead and try a little hydrocortisone cream and maybe alternate it with a little lidocaine cream. My guess is it's part of the overall rash. If it doesn't improve, I would definitely call the doctor. Use the same philosopy as for the overall rash: clean, soothe, protect.
Avatar m tn I put on hydrocortisone cream and try to stay calm.. It usually passes within the hour. It always strikes just as I am falling asleep. My hands have itched on occasion but the feet has been consistant. This started a month ago. I have asthma and allergies, and oral allergies ( cant eat certiain foods wihtout esophageal cramping etc..) Also have been having ALOT of stress in work and family. I have taken tramadol for piriformis syndrome but do not see any link.
Avatar m tn My doctor prescribed 3% lidocaine/0.5% hydrocortisone cream (which took two days to get). I was also using the hemorrhoid cream. In addition, I was using about 4-5 baby wipes to clean the area each time so that there was not one speck of anythiong left to irritate the hemorrhoids. Interestingly enough, about 6 days after that pain started, it began to decrease and after a couple more days, it was almost gone. I still had the external hemorrhoids but the hemorrhoid cream took care of them.
Avatar n tn Lida Mantle with hydrocortisone is not a cream for fungus--it's for itching and eczema, and the hydrocortisone would make fungus grow. I think you have chafing, not fungus. Ask the dermatologist how sure he or she is about the diagnosis, and why the LidaMantle for a fungus. I think you have recurrent chafing, not recurrent fungus, which if true would make you worry a lot less. Best. Dr.

Avatar n tn He said yes it’s a cold sore i will prescribe you a cream. I was so upset that day because i never had herpes and thought no girls would ever date me. I told my mom what happened and she said no silly, it’s just from drooling. She was saying how the doctor was unprofessional and didn’t even examine me enough to prove that it was really a cold sore. anyways…. as i was researching up on the net i found angular cheilitis. I was like hey what if it’s angular cheilitis instead of a cold sore?
1833444 tn?1325560662 I tried the blue sunburn gel with lidocaine in it as it cools and numbs the itching for a short while and after scratching it was painful too. Otherwise I also was given hydrocortisone 2.5% and then betamethasone 0.1% (both are prescription strength) I also found Benadryl helped alot but the tablets do make you drowsy.
1986030 tn?1327538959 For the external excoriation I used a xylocaine with hydrocortisone (prescription) cream. However, when it got more excoriated, I switched to Desitin, which was qite soothng and healing. Like I said, once I figured out that it was the soft stools causing it, and I got the stools firmed up, I did not have any more problems. I hope some of these suggestions help. BTW, the flaming soft and or loose stools stopped when I finished Incivek.
1102290 tn?1278503553 We were able to use over the counter suppositories and lidocaine cream for external pain. Seems to have subsided a bit, however I noticed what looked like sunburn on his throat. It has been raining all day so i knew it was not sunburn. I asked him to take off his shirt and within one minute I watched the rash wrap around his neck and all over and down his back. He is not itching, yet. Is there anything that soothes the skin?
Avatar m tn It has been extremely painful and I have had difficulty even passing stools before using lidocaine. Doctor gave me lidocaine and hydrocortisone cream. It has helped a little bit, but my hemorrhoid does not seem to get better bc I have so many bowel movements each day, up to 5 or 6 per day. After I eat, I immediately feel like I have to poop and will have abdominal discomfort and/or bloating until I do.
Avatar m tn I'd imagine you've tried antihistamines for the itching, and possibly hydrocortisone ointment...How about a lidocaine (used for numbing sunburns and premature ejaculation) ointment? Are you a diabetic perchance? Let me know if you try these things (or have tried). If they don't work, I will present your issue to a dermatologist friend and see what he thinks...Good luck!
Avatar f tn I have never been so miserable in my life nor have I ever had this kind of a problem before. I've tried hydrocortisone cream, aloe vera gel, lidocaine and often I am in tears from the inflammation and burning. The soreness has moved it used to be further back in my vagina and now it burns closer to the vaginal opening. Are there any medical explantions for what is happening with me????

469210 tn?1219191728 About three weeks ago, I posted that I had these terrible mouth sores. It was causing me so much pain that I couldn't eat or even open my mouth. My tongue was covered with blisters, my cheeks and gums were so sore and my mouth had cracks at both corners. My doctor sent an oral anti-fungal rinse and also something called "Magic Mouthwash" which has Lidocaine in it. It numbs your mouth so you can eat (and talk). The oral rinses cleared up the inside of my mouth in TWO days!
Avatar m tn Sometimes when I whipe my anus I see little line of blood on the toilet paper. I went to the doctor for the anal itching and got a cream named lidocaine that numbs the anus. But the itch didn't go away so went again to the doctor for him to have a look If its hemroids or something else. He didn't see anything and myself I was feeling if I had any weird bumps on my anus but nothing was there to feel.

Avatar n tn i was told by an afterhours nurse to try a hydrocortisone cream on it to soothe it, but when i went in today and got checked out i COMPLETELY forgot to tell the nurse that I had used it- she said she saw some discharge or remants of the metro-gel that i had used for bv under the clitoral hood and cleaned it out- she said she was sure that's what was causing the pain and that the nerves were just irritated..

Avatar m tn 1 - Boudreaux’s Butt Paste 2 - ProctoFoam (and Proctofoam HC, which has hydrocortisone) 3 - Annusol 4 - PrepH 5 - Analpram, Rectocort-HC (Pramoxine = local anesthetic, plus hydrocortison) If any body has an further suggestions, or guidance in choosing among the above, please advise. Also, it looks like it is probably worthwhile to be obsessive about anal cleaning after bowel movements. Thanks! And thanks for the welcome!
