Avatar m tn Two years ago I was diagnosed with a complete heart block and received a pace set to pace at 60. At my latest pacemaker check-up, the tech told me I am now pacing myself. She reset the pacemaker to fire only when needed - below 60. My question is how is it possible for a complete heart block to "heal" itself? Should I request a consult with my cardiologist?
1156727 tn?1309567608 I was diagnosed at 13 w/ (mild) ADD. I took 10 mg of ritalin & that did the trick. In '05, I was diagnosed w/ complete heart block & had a pacemaker inserted in June 2005. I still feel that I have "adult" ADD & over the past year & a half feel it has been getting worse. I didn't notice it at my last job b/c I had been there so long I could do the work in my sleep. I have been taking quite a few medical classes b/c I am study to be an Occupational Therapy Asst.
754107 tn?1233668478 Hi, I got a complete heart block because my lead was leaking. I'm wondering if you're being paced. How come still can get heart block? Something wrong with your pacemaker?
Avatar m tn Hi, six months after my left-side thoracotomy I was yesterday told by my surgeon (USA) that I need to get Lidocaine intercostal nerve-block injections for a persistent pain issue I'm having. Here in my country, Cyprus, though, it's impossible to find someone who has experience in injecting Lidocaine on the thorax. So, my second option is UK, but still I would need to find someone specialized on this type of nerve-block. Any recommendations?
Avatar m tn Therapy for Intermittent second degree AV Block Mobitz type I and II, is based on the presence of ischemia and the likelihood of complete block. If there is evidence, then pacemaker implantation may be considered. You will need constant follow to detect complications like ischemia and complete block. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn ve read that 2nd degree, type 2 can eventually become 3rd degree and a complete heart block. Complete heart block can cause sudden cardiac death. That is why I agreed to the pacemaker implant. If I were you, I'd get a 2nd opinion from another Cardiac Electro Physiologist to confirm your 2nd degree, type 2 diagnosis and also whether or not he recommends a pacemaker implant.
Avatar f tn I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with. I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.
Avatar f tn I am a 54 yr old male, in pretty good shape, non-smoker, non-drinker. For the past 2 years I have experienced pain in the left side of my chest with tingling in the left arm. I've seen 2 cardiologists and had a complete exam including an angiogram, showing no heart disease. Since then I've seen gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, and pain specialists. My new doctor suggested PHN and tested me for the virus anitbody, which I have.
Avatar n tn They put the women on temporary pacers and the pregnancy continued to term. Even women that came in with complete heart block at term ( a rare occurrence) were paced through delivery and it all worked out. So you could opt for the pacer just during pregnancy if your doctor is willing to do that. But after the baby is born, you still have to make some decisions about your Wenckebach and how to treat it. Maybe you'll have to look for a second opinion.
Avatar m tn The underlying cause was lack of adequate blood flow to a section of the heart and that impaired heart wall movement (hypokinesis) and the hypokinesis reduced the force to adequately contract and pump blood into circulation. My therapy has reduced the heart size, revitialized heart cells, and the ejection fraction has returned to normal. My LAD is totally blocked as well, but the body system can compensate by developing collateral vessels to feed into the deficit areas, etc.
Avatar f tn Hi, my son has a Congenital complete heart block which drs haven't found the cause for as yet. I had a tick bit shortly before conceiving so drs are testing as to whether it could be caused by Lyme. If so, is it too late for antibiotics to reverse his heart block? He is nearly 4.
Avatar f tn I just went to my 20 week ultrasound and find out that my baby has a complete heart block. He also has fluid ont he brain I believe the dr called it hydrocephaly, and is mesuring at 18 weeks instead of 20. my mother has lupus. My ob told me to expect that he can die at any time. I just want to know if there is any treatment anything that can be done and what to expect. I live in san antonio tx so if anyone can recommend a really good dr in that area or surrounding area.
3316400 tn?1347139852 Status post ablation I was in Regular Sinus however when I became fully awake and being a nurse, I noted that I was in Complete Heart Block. I stayed in CHB for approximately 36 hrs and then went into 2:1 conduction block. The doctor feels it's very possibly due to the swelling of the node and that its not actually damaged but will definately take some time to heal and tell for sure. I was going in and out of Regular Sinus Rhythm, 2:1 and CHB at discharge on day 4.
Avatar f tn s correct that local anesthetics contain both lidocaine and adrenalin (epinephrine). They both can have effects on the heart, adrenalin has an obvious effect and lidocaine is actually an antiarrhythmic drug (class 1b sodium blocker) which may have proarrhythmic effects. The problem is - adrenalin is added to prevent the lidocaine from having systemic effects, the blood vessels are constricted. If you have reactions towards lidocaine, choosing the one without adrenalin would be bad.
Avatar m tn I know I dont have the answers you are looking for, but my brother had 3rd degree heart block and 2 other issues (congenital) and he made it till 20, always told by his regular doctors that he was super fit since he had 50 pulse. When he was 20 however, he suddenly collapsed, and the ambulance said his heart rate was 20 something, and they thought he was going. They put in the pacemaker and now he just recently had a new battery put in--his leads were still good (10 years later).
Avatar m tn Drugs: lidocaine and triamcinolone acetonide injection. At night after lumbar paravertebral nerve block injection, the lower back skin burning sensation, numbness of the right groin hip hip the next day and radiation to the lower limbs, a heavy sense of her left leg, 5 days double legs pain to the heel, the activity increased after skin hypoesthesia. 8 days later, the abdominal perineal these symptoms, abdominal muscle spasms. The cumulative post double ribs to the armpits.
Avatar n tn Here, the conduction system disease tends to be unstable, and can progress to complete heart block. These patients often need pacemakers. 2) When bundle branch block is associated with syncope (loss of consciousness):When a patient with bundle branch block experiences syncope, in general an electrophysiology study should be considered to test for impending complete heart block. A permanent pacemaker eliminates the problem.
Avatar m tn That particular individual had a pre-existing heart condition, but not a complete heart block. After the medicine was discontinued it is said that his complete heart block resolved.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for a thoracic facet block for next Friday. Are steriods used for this procedure? And if they are, can they substitute the steriod with a non- steriod medication? I had an epidural Sept. 2007 and I gained weight and It didn't work, I am not even sure I will go through with procedure now.
