Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro withdrawal dreams

lexapro

Avatar n tn com/ It is tiny amount of natural lithium that is safe and may be my best friend as I work toward full lexapro withdrawal. I take one pill with the mealtonin at night to try to curb the crazy melatonin dreams, and one during the day if I feel too anxious. Great find.
Avatar f tn I have been taking lexapro for 3 years. I decided to get off of lexapro; it was not working. Plus, I do not want to keep depending on it. I want to see what I can do on my own. I was taking 10 mg and cut it in half and took 5 mg for one week. I have not had any for one week. I am experiencing stomach problems (especially in my morning), heartburn, indigestion, and a strange (heat) sensation in my chest area. Is this normal? What can I do to help? How long will this last?
358304 tn?1409709492 I believe I have properly weaned myself off of the Lexapro and Klonopin. I weaned off both medications within 2-3 weeks. I cut the Lexapro in half taking 5mg for about a week, then .25mg, then smaller and smaller. Same with Klonopin, .5mg then to .25mg to .0125mg or something like that. My anxiety is GONE! Which is GREAT! =) But I have had a few symptoms, and I don't know if it's rebound anxiety symptoms or if it's from withdrawal from the benzo and the anti-depressant.
991895 tn?1259351987 I'm taking Lexapro 10 mg and also have very vivid dreams nightly. My mother, who left us when I was a teenager, is generally in the dreams. I'm happy taking Lexapro -- it has very much changed my life and outlook. However, I will say that the dreams are very bothersome and can wear you down. It's hard to appreciate the effects of the day when you are still tired from dreaming the night before.
847195 tn?1296171647 Probably the Lexapro. If it's helping, learn to love the dreams. I had great dreams on Paxil, but I'm a writer, so I guess I don't mind vivid dreams as much as the next person.
94902 tn?1330479667 I really enjoyed the way I felt just fine Not overly fine but just good on the Lexapro. I took the Lexapro for almost a year and decided to stop taking it at the advice of my DR. It took a while but I stopped cold turkey one day a week ago..Immediately I felt bad..sad..hopeless..night sweats..vivid dreams that meant nothing..a feeling of anxiety to do something but no energy to do anything..I had been laying in bed for days..watching tv..gained about 5 lbs..became depressed..

Avatar f tn If you were on Paxil for 17 years straight, quitting can be very very difficult. Lexapro won't make it any easier since it's a different drug. You were on a very low dose of Paxil, but still, that's a long time, and Paxil packs a heck of a withdrawal for many people. So it could be that. Someone on it for that long would usually taper off very slowly. It could also be that being on it that long has burned you out for ssris. Who knows?
1609058 tn?1298089127 I've had an awful experience that I must share and find out if anyone else has gone through it. I currently take Lexapro 10mg, a mild antidepressant, and it's wonderful for me. A little over a month ago, I requested a prescription for Chantix to quit smoking. Even though I'd heard lots of negative things about the side effects, I thought it was worth trying. After 4 weeks of taking it, I did notice that my mood was being affected, so I decided to stop taking it.
Avatar f tn I recently weaned myself off of lexapro after using it for about 8 years. Everything has gone weexcept for one very troubling problem that continues some 3 weeks since I last took my last small dose of lexapro. Nearly every night as I prepare to go to bed I start to get warm and then I start getting the shakes. I get under the covers and try to get warm.. Once I have warmed with in afew hours of sleep I am awoken from the results of night sweats, which have left my sheets and pillows wet.
3926262 tn?1350439336 As many of you know, I am about to begin week 6 on triple therapy with incevik. I am also currently taking Lexapro to help with anxiety/depression. I have been experiencing numerous very graphic and disturbing dreams for the last couple of weeks. I am not sure if it's the tx or the Lexapro....or a combination of both? I have even awakened my husband by yelling out in my sleep.
Avatar f tn Withdrawal from Lexapro usually occurs when patients stop the medication suddenly. If your plan is to stop lexapro, your doctor will wean you off of it slowly so that you can minimize any withdrawal symptoms you may experience. However seizing is not a common withdrawal symptom when stopping Lexapro. I would discuss any concerns or questions you may have with your doctor and be clear. He/she will be able to help and work with you.

497348 tn?1283436066 Since this post, have you started taking the celexa? I took it for one month two months ago. The only symptoms I had were trouble sleeping and I could not orgasm. It helped me with anxiety though and when I got angry, I did not get as agitated as usual. I then tried zoloft and experienced the same symptoms only worse insomnia and I didn't feel like it helped my anxiety. Oh, and I did not have withdrawl symptoms.
Avatar f tn I was on Lexapro for a little over a year. I was only taking 5mg a day. Since I lost my health insurance I slowing got off taking the medication because I couldn't afford it. It's been about two weeks since I took my last pill and I'm feeling odd. Having strange symptoms. I'm very mean at times and the newest thing happened two days ago, I get this strange pain that goes from one temple up to the top of my head and over to my other temple. It last maybe 5 seconds.
1288270 tn?1301287612 This either results in fewer withdrawal problems, or the withdrawal happens later down the road, maybe a month later. Lexapro leaves the body quite a bit more quickly, and so you are much more subject to a bad withdrawal by quitting abruptly. None of these should be quit abruptly, but the short half life ones especially so.
Avatar m tn I have the same thing. Its dreams that you may or may not remember provoking emotions. You may benefit from taking a benzodiazepine during those mornings. Try watching "four ways of letting go" on YouTube, it may help you alot.
Avatar f tn My doctor thought that Lexapro was not working. I went 3 weeks without taking Lexapro and it was sooo bad. So the doctor put me back on 2.5 mg and a program to taper. Here is my question. Why are I waking up every morning with anxiety, hot, racing heart, and nervous stomach? I stay hot all day. My face feels like it is on fire. My heart fills like it is racing but when I take my pulse rate it seems to be ok.
