lexapro withdrawal and nausea

For the last 2 weeks I have felt very dizzy, missed 3 days of work, went to the doctor, who said I have vertigo. Gave me an antihystamine. She said it's viral. I still feel the same. I have begun to wonder if the vertigo could be caused by withdrawal from Lexapro, which I've been on for years. I also experience mental "mud"--feeling confused and slow to get my thoughts together, as well as trouble remembering. What do you think?

I thought it was time to try to come off it and see how a feel because I am in my early 30s and have young kids and wanted to feel good abour myself again and lose the weight. Well, the first few days off of Lexapro were pretty good and then on about day 5, I started to feel HORRIBLE. I was sweating horribly, had a constant headache and nausea. I was so dizzy. ve had withdrawal effects like brain zaps, nausea and irritability but at least 80% less than before when i tried quitting cold turkey. otherwise i could never get through a week. good news is that there is hope and every day the withdrawals get milder. specially with prozac in the system, which has a half life of 1 week and gets completely out of the system in 5 weeks.

I have been off a week and have hives and itching all over by body, shoulder and back ache nausea.

5mg cold turkey and was awake all night not having it and severe panic attacks in the night and during the day with severe nausea. Who are we? You and the Doctor? Why were you prescribed Lexapro to begin with? Depression/anxiety? Keep in mind that a symptom of depression is a significant change in apetite. I have experienced unpleasant symptoms several times when discontinuing an anti deoressant and starting another but they pass and improve. If you discontinue too fast you may experience nausea,sweating,upset stomach,headache, neck pain or vomiting. Symptoms of depression/anxiety may also return.

I took the meds the way my dr told me to when she told me how to wean down. and every pharmacist and dr ive spoken to has said not to take the lexapro and the wellbutrin together. and if I take a small does every other day for a week and then every third day for a week it would be longer then the week to 10 days I may have the symptoms. would not take lexapro and effexor together. for effexor withdrawal i take omega3 fish oil caps twice a day//benadryl as needed for dizzyness\\ b12 sublingualtwice a day\\st. johns wort twice a day// vitamin d3 twice a day ---ibuprofen(motrin) as needed for muscle pain. as far as i am concerned, i will never take a prescription rx. for anxiety and depression again. i also have ptsd. i am sticking to st. johns wort and omega 3 fish oil caps. both will treat depression.

I have experienced severe head aches and nausea for the last two weeks along with a reboot feeling in the head. It has been really bad the last 3 or 4 days several days. My Dr said it would last about 10 to 14 days. How long can I expect this to last? I alternated 2.5 mg every other day for a month before stopping completely. I am also on 150 mg of Welbutrin XL and plan on beginning to stop this as well within the next 60 to 90 days under Dr supervision.

Cymbalta worked for me for a short period, then I was switched to Lexapro and a mild generic klonopin and together they make me feel much better.

It very well could be lexapro withdrawals. All antidepressants are suggested to be weened down over a course of weeks, not stopped cold turkey. What dosages was she on? Did she taper down or just stop?

I am coming off cipralex and I am soooo itchy especially my hands and neck. Has anyone had this withdrawal symptom? If so what can be done about it. Hand cream doesnt help.

She put me on a plan where i decrease my Lexapro and slowly add Paxil. I am currently on only 5mg of Lexapro. My nausea has decreased but still miserable and now it is mixed with Lexapro withdrawl symptoms, which as you may know, is a nightmare. I have had bad nausea, head aches most of the duration and recently dry/aching eyes. I have a stressful job and it is very hard to make it through the day. I am handling the stress alright, I just can't handle the bad nausea, head aches, and now dry/aching eyes. The dry/aching eyes make it difficult to read and drive. If your stomach pain continues you should contact your doctor. Tell him or her that you are having stomach pain and nausea. Nausea and stomach pain are common side effect of Lexapro, if it continues then Lexapro is not right for you. Lexapro DID give me some withdrawal symptoms, but in fairness, I also was instructed to quit Lexapro cold turkey and got home from my appointment that day to find out my grandfather had passed away and I had to fly to California for the funeral. So, it was not exactly a 'good' time to quit anything for a person diagnosed with anxiety! Particularly when I left the Lexapro at home for that week because I was intending to follow the instructions for cold turkey.
