I've noticed a lot of exacerbated ADHD symptoms by taking SSRI medications. SSRI medicines are hard to manage when I have severe hyperactivity and inattentiveness with ADHD, yet the SSRI seems to help in other areas that I mentioned.
I have spoken to my psychiatrist about this a couple times, and he told me to try and time the doses between Dexedrine and Lexapro so I don't have too much Lexapro before trying to study, and try not to have too much Dexedrine close to bed.
I don't believe there's any significant difference between the two; when it was prescribed to my husband, the nurse did say some insurances would give better prices on the generic, but either one was ok for him to take. (Our particular insurance didn't have a price difference, so the pharmacy filled it as Lexapro.

I am going to a pychiatrist for the first time on Monday but my family MD has me on 20mg of lexapro and last week added 150mg of Effexor. In reading online it sounds like a lot of Effexor to just be starting out on it. Has anyone ever been on both at the same time or have any feedback on Effexor besides all the negative withdrawal stuff I read? Thanks!

My anxiety manifested itself (among other symptoms) as dizziness, sweating/hot flashes and facial numbness (which was really scary!)
I would bet a million dollars that these are symptoms of anxiety either due to the start of lexapro treatment (I'll repeat cj29: How long have you been on it?) or maybe it's not the right med/dosage for you and you are still having the anxiety.

My wife is 28 yrs old and had some 'panic attacks' some months ago.
She was treated with LEXAPRO and she just ended the treatment. The thing is she is now getting 'Dizzy' and overall I sense a feeling of 'helplessness'..also crying frequently. She is also going through some stressful time at work, but she feels is more likely related to the treatment. Is this a normal post effect of LEXAPRO?
Sorry I am asking so many questions here, but things are moving fast for me concerning my treatment. The doctor here in Thailand wants to stop treatment and wait a 2 weeks and then start again if my platelets drop below 50,000. I am thinking that is not good to stop for 2 weeks and start again in terms of the efficiency of the treatment.
I only have 67.000 going into this treatment and surely i will go below 50,000. He also said he wants to stop completely if I go below 25,000.
