Yes, it can. But I'm guessing it's the Lexapro, because that's one of its more common side effects. Happened to me with it, happens to many who take it. During the time I was on Lexapro I started taking 3 showers a day, and often had to get up and shower so I could go back to sleep. However, the prohibition of 5-HTP does apply when you take an SSRI -- you shouldn't take both. 5-HTP can also cause night sweats in some people, though probably fewer than Lexapro.

I first experienced DRENCHING night sweats when I was first diagnosed with Hep C, back in my days when I think I was acute...I've had run-of-the-mill, garden variety night sweats here & there, the kind you get from nightmares...but the last month or so I've had a mini-relapse of them. I am doing ok on it untll i started to havé serious and disturbing night sweats and stressfull dreams . As well as bad liver blood exams . I was told that m'y liver is getting intoxicated with thé zoloft . This scared me so i reduced from 50 to 25 Mgs per day , thé withdrawals are a little hard. Iwould plan on reducing it more ! I am afraid all together as this drug changed m'y life and made me feel so much better .

To my understanding nights sweats are a product of a fever, right? Can you have night sweats without a fever? If so would non-fever night sweats relate to HIV still? Also how do you know if your having a fever at night? in the past when I had a night sweat, I would just wake up because I'm wet usually around my neck and chest area, I don't feel like I had fever. I remember in the past when I got tested for HIV I got so stressed I was having night sweats, test turned out to be negative.

Im 27 weeks and oh my lord. I had them really really bad early on, like i would wake up and be drenched. It didnt matter if i slept in my pjs or just my undies. It has calmed down a lot though since the first few months. I always have a fan going and have a cold pillow inbetween my legs.
i had my right ovary and fallopian tube removed 4 weeks ago due to a very large cyst being attached to my ovary. Ever since then i have suffered really awful and bad night sweats. I have discussed it with the doctor but he has said it is a hormone unbalance and the left ovary is playing catch up and needs to work for both ovaries now the right one has gone and this may take a while. In the mean time i am literally surviving on 2 hours sleep a night.
