Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro dreams

lexapro

991895 tn?1259351987 I'm taking Lexapro 10 mg and also have very vivid dreams nightly. My mother, who left us when I was a teenager, is generally in the dreams. I'm happy taking Lexapro -- it has very much changed my life and outlook. However, I will say that the dreams are very bothersome and can wear you down. It's hard to appreciate the effects of the day when you are still tired from dreaming the night before.
847195 tn?1296171647 Probably the Lexapro. If it's helping, learn to love the dreams. I had great dreams on Paxil, but I'm a writer, so I guess I don't mind vivid dreams as much as the next person.
3926262 tn?1350439336 As many of you know, I am about to begin week 6 on triple therapy with incevik. I am also currently taking Lexapro to help with anxiety/depression. I have been experiencing numerous very graphic and disturbing dreams for the last couple of weeks. I am not sure if it's the tx or the Lexapro....or a combination of both? I have even awakened my husband by yelling out in my sleep.
Avatar m tn I have the same thing. Its dreams that you may or may not remember provoking emotions. You may benefit from taking a benzodiazepine during those mornings. Try watching "four ways of letting go" on YouTube, it may help you alot.
535882 tn?1396576685 did lexapro calm your nerves. just starting meds now. Any positive expierences with lexapro. how did it work for you?
Avatar f tn Your dreaming is quite probably a side effect of the Lexapro but is not serious unless it is disrupting your sleep ar the dreams are disturbing in and of themselves. Your lack of motivation is a common sign of your depressive disorder itself and is probably not a result of your medication unless it is only in the morning and dissipates as the day progresses.
Avatar n tn could shifting in sleep duration and using of computer lead to these dreams, and as for these dreams are they good signs or bad ? And does he need some additional medicine to stop these disturbing dreams about his worries and unsolved major problem ?
Avatar f tn I have been on Celexa for a little over a month now, before that i was taking lexapro for my depression and anxiety disorder, and although both my anxiety level and my depression have gotten better i have been having vivid nightmares. Which makes my anxiety skyrocket right before bed, i have at least one nightmare per night i often have one wake up from it go back to sleep have anther and so on. I was just wondering if anyone knows if nightmares are side effects of this medication.
Avatar f tn However, the Dr wants me off clonazepam so he recommended Lexapro. After a month on Lexapro I feel that it is not for me. The first week on this stuff was horrible. I had constant headaches, fatigue, horrible metallic taste in my mouth. After a month my symptoms subsided but then I started with frequent urination, having vivid wild dreams, constipation, changes in menstrual cycle, foot cramps. My sleep has improved a bit however, the vivid dreams are too wild for me.
Avatar f tn However, I just started Pristiq which is just a different drug that does the same thing as Lexapro and when i started it i kept having really REALLY strange dreams...to the point where id wake up with really bad anxiety just because they were so strage. It is a very common side effect for Lexapro to mess with your sleep patterns. Sometimes it makes you extra sleepy and in other cases it makes you restless. Restless is something it did for me.
Avatar f tn My Doctor just gave me Lexapro but im to afraid to take it because i have really bad expriment on some medication before so can someone please tell me about it.Does it make you gain weigh or think you want to kill yourself.
Avatar n tn I recently started taking a low dose of Imipramine (25 mg) and have been having trouble with dreams and staying asleep. My dreams seem very real and i wake often with a odd tingling feeling and i feel a little "out of body". I was prescribed Imipramine for anxiety, not depression, but i wondered if anyone else has the same problem. I take one only before bed to help with sleep, so i don't understand why it is causing me to have problems sleeping.
Avatar m tn ve had weird dreams on full dose of Lexapro but not so frequently since I reduced to a half dose (5mg), so I think it is partly related to your high dosing. They are not nightmares, just very vivid and dreaming about people and situations that I normally would not dream about. I don't mind it, really.
Avatar f tn I guess the mind plays trucks on us when we get so stressed out. My doctor recently put me on lexapro and a anxiety pill. Working great but sometimes I have to reassure myself by reading articles that this is normal and it will pass with time. My doctor said its normal for people to question everything in life and sometimes things they question gets stuck and we OCD about it. Never once did I ever have gay thoughts or dreams about them or anything.
Avatar n tn She decided to switch me from zoloft to Lexapro. She said I could immediatly discontinue the zoloft and start on the lexapro 10 mg. I have been feeling a little out of sorts since I have switched and i am wondering if perhaps I should taper off the zoloft and ease into the lexapro.. or does it not matter?
Avatar f tn He is very stressed / several years because of work, he is under Lexapro and also under exams because gastro trouble, dr said probably gastritis or gerd. He used to hiccup a lot, but now seems that the hiccups stopped and these spasms started...coincidence or the spasms changed places? Sorry anout my english. It’s an acute symptom since I have never noticed them. Actually after 2 weeks of Nexium ( to treat reflux ) that I first notice the spasms/ Myoclonus...
Avatar n tn What type of withdraws are you having? Did you quit cold turkey? or slowly?
Avatar n tn t sleep without the light being on and I was scared to sleep because of the bad dreams. The dreams were always me trying to reach or save my sister. Consequently I believe this has caused me depression. I am on antidepressentsband am fortunate enough to have many people who love and care about me including a wonderful husband. What concerns me is this awful feeling of numbness and detachment that I still feel five years later when people tell me about a tragedy or illness in their family.
Avatar f tn I have been trying to wean my wife off Lexapro. Presently she is on 5mg daily. Originally she was on 20mg daily. As I understand the withdrawal regiment as one should not reduce the dosage until the patient is stabilized on that particular dosage. Since she has been on 5mg (2 months) we have experienced several symptoms and they have dissipated, however one symptom has lingered for three weeks. This one is absolutely driving her nuts.
Avatar n tn fear, but still I have restless legs, restless thoughts, hot flashes/sweating, vivid dreams, dizzy, I can only sleep maybe 4 or 5 hours, but its interrupted. I have Xanax that I take at night to help sleep, if needed I take a tiny bit during the day, but I'm so tired already if I take it, I usually can't focus and end up sleeping like 5 minutes here and there with jolts of waking up and needing to move. Still can't concentrate long enough to watch an entire tv show.
