You should remember that I did start you on levothroid and I have been reducing your medication dose for last few years from 100 mcg a day as far as I can remember to the current 75 mcg 1/2 tab daily. I also refer you to endocrinology few years ago and Dr. ******* did your thyroid biopsy but did not give advice about whether you should take more or less levothroid.

Forest laboratories make Armour, Thyrolar and Levothroid. Reading the article entitled "Does Forest Really Want to Save Natural Thyroid?" by Mary Shomon, it's obvious that Levothroid is Forest's drug of choice. Must be as cheap as chips to make Levothroid IMO.

I am 32 and we r planning for a baby now. I have been on and off hypothyroid treatment from 2002. but my TSH was never higher than 11.5(thatz my highest reading before the last week's test result which is 37.62). My T3 and T4 are always in normal range. but i have a slightly higher antibodies.
My TSH was 7 in june2011 and so i was on Levothroid 0.025mg for 9 months. Then my TSH dropped to 0.23. So i was asked to stop my medicines. After 2 months i again took a TSH test. Now TSH is 37.62.
Hope someone can help. I have had low to no thyroid function all my life. I was on synthroid made by "flint" from the age of 4. When flint stopped making it I had to switch to the now "synthroid brand and have had several allergic reactions. My doctor switched me to levothroid made by forest and it was awesome no side effects no swelling in my tongue or throat. I had no swallowing problems.
Hello. I had a total thyoidectomy in 1995 and have been on a suppressive dose of Levothroid ever since. I have already developed osteoporosis, which I have been told is most likely connected to the Levothroid dosage. Recently, I have been reading about an additional connection between high thryroid hormone levels and Alzheimer's Disease. I am extremely concerned about this issue. After the diagnosis of Hashimitos (I already have cholitis), I have been taking 75mcg levothroid and the node disappeared. None of my symptoms have disappeared, however. I gained 45 lbs in a 2 year period mostly around my stomach and my tissue around my neck (clavicle) are noticeably swollen. I have fatigue, sore, achy body especially my lower back and right hip. I am not the same person. I went back to my family physician and he did blood tests. TSH was high, but T4 and T3 were normal.
I got my results to TSH tests and the doctor put me on Levothroid. My number was 2.6. Is this high or low? I was reading about the side effects and they are enough to scare me away from taking this medicine. I'd appreciate any help from anyone familiar with this drug. I definitely don't need to lose any hair and don't have the privilaedgo ot time to become nasty tempered or hyper. I have a husband to take care of and he drives me nuts at times through no fault of his own.
So, the GP and I decided to lower my levothroid to 112 mcg. My TSH was about .67 at the time. The lowered levothroid seemed to help with the anxiety and dry skin and teeth grinding. I did not feel better, just different; it is hard to explain.
Then, after 7 months, my TSH came back at 4.63. Yikes! Doc and I upped dose back to 125mcg.
Within two weeks, the anxiety came back as well as the floating weird feelings and the headaches were nonstop.

Hi, I'm fairly new, this is the first time I've really needed help. I took the radioactive cocktail years ago because I was hyper thyroid. I've been controlled fairly well up until recently. I'm have autoimmune hypothyroidism. I started on Levothroid 4 weeks ago and feeling a bit better and recently got some updated lab results. My Endo hasn't been that communicative and I have some questions.
Should my Levothroid doses be raised?
I'm 30, male, 150lbs, 5'6". No other drugs, or heart conditions.
First two weeks where where at ony 50mcg, second two weeks were at the full 100mcg.
My inital labs where:
TSH: 425 Lab Range 0.2-5.5 uIU/mL
T4 Free: 0.
I was put on .75 mcg of levothroid and my levels stayed within normal for years until I got pregnant last year. They had to continue to up my dose bc I became more hypo during pregnancy. My son was stillborn at 22 weeks, I was put back on my pre pregnancy dosage and my levels went back to normal. 4 months later I conceived my 2nd child. Once again they upped my meds because I became more hypo. Checked levels once each trimester and were normal.
s old and has had hypothryoidism and hypoglycemia for several years. He takes one 200MCG tablet of levothroid every day. REcently, he started having severe chest pains. Last Sunday, they were so bad we took him to the ER where they performed all sorts of heart tests and determined it wasn't his heart. They also performed an ultrasound and upper GI and the technician performing them told my husband he saw no signs of reflux or abnormalities there, yet his doctor called him two days later..
