The infection is gone but now my legs are tingling all the time and are in pain as well. I am wondering how long these side effects last and if there is any way to make them go away sooner. I am also having trouble sleeping now. I wish I knew this before taking this!!!

There may be some pathology anywhere in the urinary system from the kidneys,urters ,urinary bladder and urethra.It is not compulasory that you are having an infection of the urinary system.It may be due to some other pathology like some obstruction.I would suggest you get a urine culture and ultrasound and CT pelvis done so that the exact cause can be determined.

My daughter is in Macedonia. She is 13weeks pregnant and has been diagnosed with ureaplasma urealyticum/ mycooplasma hominis. Her doctor prescribed Azithromax and Levaquin but wants her to wait until she is 5 months along to take it. Is this safe?
I've been on 500mg. of Levaquin for 4 days and I'm having difficulty breathing. Not all the time at times it's just hard to catch my breath without doing anything too physical. Has anyone else had this side effect?

The next time you are prescribed Levaquin the drill is not to "tell the physician you have had problems". The drill is to REFUSE the levaquin. The second part of the drill is to go to the FDA site on the internet and submit a written adverse drug effect report. Just telephoning your physician about the problems is not sufficient. You need to write a letter and send it certified mail. Pain in the joints and elsewhere are common side effects of Levaquin.
Soon after the Levaquin, I developed Neuroathy in both of my feet. My neurologist was surprised, and ordered all types of diagnostic lab work to seek an answer. All labs were either wnl or negative. Do you have any suggestioons for treatment or an answer to how long this will continue to occur.

Your not being attacked at all. No one wants to attack you, we want to see you get better. Your question came off like you wanted us to tell you what you were looking at in terms of the oc staying in your system and if youare taking sub,. that makes us concerned. That's all. The point is the question is because you had a mishap as you said, so we just didn't know why you wanted to know how long it takes to come out of your system.
Hey there...you cannot cut the dose in half....i would call your doctor and see if he/she can change your meds or if it's ok to stop..Levaquin can be given in 250, 500 & 750 mg doses...I was on Levaquin earlier this year for uti and had horrible side effects, so i just stopped taking the meds...I had horrible heart pounding, swollen knees and it felt as if someone had beaten the crap out of me with a baseball bat...
