Gave me symptoms. I am now on letrozole. Also experiencing symptoms. Will letrozole keep this cancer away. Is there a smaller does than 2.5 of letrozole that I can take.

It seems there are quite a few posts under Pediatric Endo forum but not able to find any answers if any parents tried Anastrozole/Letrozole and what has been their experience regarding delaying bone age and side effects. I will appreciate if any parent with experience of using Anastrozole for their kids may share their experience.

I have been on Anastrozole for year, 4 more to go (5 ys.) I have the worse Joint pain, stiffness, hurts to walk, get up from chair, I get out of bed hurting, I ache everyday. My skin and stays so dry, my hair grew back after chemo, but is lifeless, thin, etc. I do not like this Pill and want to discontinue, but my Oncologist said it is doing me more good, to keep taking it. This pill is really aging me, dry wrinkly skin, no energy, cant walk and move like I want to.

December 14, 2009 (San Antonio, Texas) — New results coming from 2 mature trials with exemestane (Aromasin, Pfizer) suggest that this aromatase inhibitor differs slightly from the other 2 available products, letrozole (Femara, Novartis) and anastrozole (Arimidex, AstraZeneca). Although all 3 are aromatase inhibitors, exemestane is a steroidal product that binds irreversibly to the estrogen receptor; the other 2 products are both nonsteroidal and are reversible inhibitors.

(beyond the initial 5 years) is with letrozole (Femara) after 5 years of tamoxifen. Letrozole and anastrozole (Arimidex) are both aromatase inhibitors and are very similar to one another. In most of the adjuvant studies using these drugs, 5 years of treatment has been given. I am 63 and just diagnosed with Stage 1, ER/PR Positive, node negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Hello, Femara (letrozole tablets) is approved for the adjuvant (following surgery) treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor–positive early stage breast cancer. Femara is also approved for the extended adjuvant treatment of early stage breast cancer in postmenopausal women who are within three months of completion of five years of tamoxifen therapy. In the adjuvant setting, commonly reported side effects are generally mild to moderate.

Have developed a heart rhythm disturbance, shortness of breath, edema of hands and legs/feet since being on Anastrozole. How worried should I be? If her cancer is hormone responsive (you can ask her doctor to verify this), she may benefit from taking hormonal treatment like anastrozole, letrozole, or fulvestrant, instead of receiving chemotherapy.

If you've had Hashimoto's for that long, have you also been on any replacement thyroid hormone medication? If so, what medication, dosage and for how long? Have you had Free T4 and Free T3 tested to determine actual thyroid hormone levels? If so, what are their results, with reference ranges? I've read that there's a connection between breast cancer and thyroid disease, but I'm not exactly sure what it is.

Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?

I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march.The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.

As of right now we are holding off on meds. He is growing but still just a little each year. He hasn’t hit a growth spurt yet but I’m hoping he does very soon. My son is 4’6” now and I worry so much that he is not going to reach anywhere near his mid parental height. How tall is your son? My son is on GH for GHD. Also did 2.25 yrs anastrozole since bone age was slightly ahead. Now only on GH. Age 15.5, bone age 13.5-14. Has all the puberty markers for tanner 4: pubic hair now starting a line to navel. Has to shave a couple times per week but only few hairs in beard area, voice deeper but no prominent adams apple yet. Letrozole is effective in increasing final adult height. Many medical studies have shown that. Most doctors don't know it yet. The recommended dose of 2.5 mg is actually not necessary. 0.3 mg will provide similar effects.

But i have stopped bleeding on 22/08/16(is it normal?).On top of that my doctor has advised me to take letrozole from 2 to 6 days during my period.My question is that,should i continue taking letrozole even if i do not bleed?
