The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.

t change that I can tell. I do o on my own but tried to help it along with the clomid and letrozole. I have never been preg and have never had a late period.

Just before i found out i was pregnant my doctor had prescribed me letrozole femara which I didnt end up needing to take. Unfortunately, because I was so overwhelmed with grief over the miscarriage and could not think rationally, I decided to take the letrozole counting the bleeding from the d&c as a period in which i used from day 2 throught to day 6. As mentioned, it has now been 3 weeks 4days since the d&c and today I had a positive pregnancy test.

Unexplained infertility for 1.5 years. I am not sure what could be the reason for my infertility , it might be endo but they didn't do a laparo for me yet. If anyone can tell me what other options do I have if Clomid failed?? So what worked for you ?

Hi! If you were my patient, I would try switching to Letrozole and possibly adding Metformin to your regimen. I would continue with up to five more IUIs. If it hasn't worked by then, I would refer you for IVF. Good luck!

I had first round of IUI in March after 3 years of infertility and ended up miscarrying at 7 weeks. What are the odds we will get pregnant again soon? I didnt get my first period post miscarriage for about 6 weeks; so thought about trying again next month (July). Need some encouragement.

Hi There! On my first round of Letrozole(Femara) and no ovulating is showing. Anyone not ovulate the first month, but then start next couple months, or is this med not like that?? I don't feel the best on it, but will try anything. Had our first little guy a year ago with in vitro. We can't afford that route again, so hoping we are blessed by just doing prescription helpers. But I don't want to keep taking something that makes me feel awful if it isn't going to kick in.

Have asked before but want to hear of any positive stories using letrozole(femara) to help with ovulation, this drug is primarily a drug used to help with breast cancer and is still in research stage for fertility problems, my dr is talking with other gp's because is not happy to prescribe it to me.

Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.

NO problem conceiving! I have just been able to go to an infertility dr. I have regular periods...almost pin point start date. In 1/12, my postgesterone level was 7....BFN. 2/12, round 1 of 50mg Clomid my progesterone level was 35...BFN. 3/12, round 2 of 50mg Clomid my progesterone level 32...BFN. 4/12, had HSG (no blockage) no Clomid...BFN. 5/12, round 1 of 2.5mg Letrozole my progesterone level 9...waiting on Day 1 of cycle to see if I'm prego.

If clomid is thinning your lining, you need to stop. I was in the same boat as you. I switch doc. From a obgyn to a fertility specialist. I took letrozole and yes menopur shot too. So far my eggs and lining were looking good. We used timed intercourse. No luck yet. Going to try the same meds and iui next tho. Talk to ur doc abt switching from clomid.

at the time of my last IUI ( Letrozole + Ovidrel ), I had 3 follies measuring 20 mm, 16 mm and 14mm..my RE mentioned that he likes to see atleast 1 follie around 16mm or greater around the time of IUI..so hopefully you should be good! good luck!!

I used to have 9 to 16 days of bleeding before letrozole! After being on letrozole, how many days are you bleeding? This is my second time with Letrozole and I had 9 days of bleeding the first time. Hello, My son is 10 year old and he was detected with bone age of 12 1/2 years. I was advice by primary Dr. to see specialist (EEndocrinology). He advice to treat him with Letrozole but I am not finding any information about this medication. I saw some blogs on web and many of them states 'Not for Children" so I am very concern. Hi, I am also on the dosage of Letrozole from D3 to D7. I wanted to know, is it always effective to take this medicine . I also suffer from PCOS. I am on second cycle now and had my MC on CD27 with pre-menstrual discharge on CD26. It lasted for 4days only , so how do i get to know if I actually ovulated or not ? I used OPKs on CD 10 and CD11 both in the evenings but got very faint line so cant even depend on that to know what happening in my body? Is there anyone else who has similar issues ?

What does IUI mean? Implantation occurs between 6-12 days. Implantation bleeding happens no more than 24 hours. I am on my third treatment cycle of letrozole and the last cycle I mistook the break through bleeding as implantation bleeding, which occurred on 6 nonconsecutive days after I ovulated. Usually REs will start you out on clomid or letrozole. If they don't work they move you on to injectibles (which are basically LH and/or FSH) such as menopur, follistim, gonal-f, bravelle, etc. Just depends what your RE prefers to use and what is right for your situation.

well i recieved my negative beta today and they want me to do a cycle of letrozole or femara which is an oral pill simliar to clomid.. my question is has anyone ever tried this med before, any side effects and any success..

My fertility doctor has now prescribed several hormone supplements. I need to take Letrozole (to help ovulation), Premarin (=estrogen to help build up uterin lining) and duphaston. I was wondering if it is safe to combine this treatment with herbal supplements. I was thinking Evening Primrose Oil (period - ovulation), Flax Seed Oil (ovulation - period) and raspberry leaf tablets (all cycle). Does anyone know whether this is ok? Doe anyone have any experience with this?

Okay ive just finished 8 rounds of clomid at 100mg and still not preggy so i told my ob that i wanted to try iui but he told me that its not worth it to do iui by itself or with clomid and that I ned to do injectables??? Does this sound right? The cost of iui with inject would be $1300.00 and I don't have a drug plan at the moment (im looking into getting one) Has Anyone done iui with clomid only and been sucessful?

It was my first cycle after 1 round of clomid and 1 round of letrozole w/ monitoring failed. I did not respond to neither pills at all. I had to pick up a secondary ins from BCBS cus my ins thru work does not cover infertility treatments. I lucked out and had to only pay 2 months of my secondary ins and then cancelled it after BFP and RE discharged me to my OB.
