I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march.The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?

Our only small hurdle is that DH has low morphology. Have you had a post-coital test done? I have read that in some cases of unexplained infertility it turns out that the woman's cervical mucus is actually hostile towards the semen.

Hi, I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant and had the d&c 3weeks 4days ago. Just before i found out i was pregnant my doctor had prescribed me letrozole femara which I didnt end up needing to take. Unfortunately, because I was so overwhelmed with grief over the miscarriage and could not think rationally, I decided to take the letrozole counting the bleeding from the d&c as a period in which i used from day 2 throught to day 6.

I was on Clomid for quite a few months in a row... starting with 50 mg all the way up to 150 mg. I only ever had 1 follicle that matured... and never resulted in pregnancy. All my tests came back good, my hubbies morphology is a little low, so we have been doing IUI. I just had my 4th IUI last Thursday. I had 3 follicles after being stimulated on Follistim and Ovidrel Trigger. It looks like you weren't able to detect your surge, which probably means you aren't ovulating.

I had first round of IUI in March after 3 years of infertility and ended up miscarrying at 7 weeks. What are the odds we will get pregnant again soon? I didnt get my first period post miscarriage for about 6 weeks; so thought about trying again next month (July). Need some encouragement.

It causes increase in the output of FSH and has also been used as an alternative to clomiphene. The chances of conceiving are improved if no other fertility issues are present, the female partner is under 35 years old and a woman who was not ovulating starts ovulating. I had an HSG done and all tubes were clear. I was then put on letrozole (femara) days 3-7. Went in on day 14 for an u/s and had a follicle measuring 17.5mm. Did OPK for a few days and got my +. Went in the following day and had IUI. I am now 12.5 weeks pg with TWINS! Letrozole is a drug for breast cancer and is not FDA approved for infertility. If you are still seeing your OB and not a RE, that could be the reason for concern writing you a RX for it.

NO problem conceiving! I have just been able to go to an infertility dr. I have regular periods...almost pin point start date. In 1/12, my postgesterone level was 7....BFN. 2/12, round 1 of 50mg Clomid my progesterone level was 35...BFN. 3/12, round 2 of 50mg Clomid my progesterone level 32...BFN. 4/12, had HSG (no blockage) no Clomid...BFN. 5/12, round 1 of 2.5mg Letrozole my progesterone level 9...waiting on Day 1 of cycle to see if I'm prego.

I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?

Hello, has anyone not had much success with clomid to help ovulation so tried a different drug i.e letrozole(femura) instead.

I've been diagnosed with unexplained infertility and have had several stimulated cycles (gonal-f plus HCG trigger), but to no avail. This cycle, multiple follicles (3) were measured a day before the HCG shot was administered to trigger ovulation. At that time, my u/s revealed the following follicle sizes: 11.7, 15.8 and 16mm. Back to back IUI was performed at 24 and 48 hours following the HCG.

Hi, Typically ovulation monitoring is carried out along with ovulation stimulating drugs like Letrozole. The monitoring can be done through external sonography but infertility specialists prefer vaginal sonography to find out the exact date when you ovulate and also the size of follicle(s).

Hi! If you were my patient, I would try switching to Letrozole and possibly adding Metformin to your regimen. I would continue with up to five more IUIs. If it hasn't worked by then, I would refer you for IVF. Good luck!

ve done some reading. Another possibility is to try going gluten free. Apparently it can cause infertility in some. I am going to go gluten free for my next cycles and see if it helps.

Hi Sherry, I only did the trigger injection with clomid and it worked. Mine was right about $1200 as well since my insurance doesn't cover infertility. Hope you have good luck with this, it will be worth it!

My fertility doctor has now prescribed several hormone supplements. I need to take Letrozole (to help ovulation), Premarin (=estrogen to help build up uterin lining) and duphaston. I was wondering if it is safe to combine this treatment with herbal supplements. I was thinking Evening Primrose Oil (period - ovulation), Flax Seed Oil (ovulation - period) and raspberry leaf tablets (all cycle). Does anyone know whether this is ok? Doe anyone have any experience with this?

It was my first cycle after 1 round of clomid and 1 round of letrozole w/ monitoring failed. I did not respond to neither pills at all. I had to pick up a secondary ins from BCBS cus my ins thru work does not cover infertility treatments. I lucked out and had to only pay 2 months of my secondary ins and then cancelled it after BFP and RE discharged me to my OB.

HI. I am 32 and was told on 22 Dec 2010 that I have a FSH level of 17 and AMH level of 3. I have early aging ovaries with severe endometriosis, and likely to hit menopause in the next few years. I have ovaries of a woman in her 40's. I miscarried 2 years ago and have never been able to fall pregnant since. Infertility doc told me I have <15% chance of falling pregnant with IVF. He is a well-renowned infertility doc. I am extremely disillusioned and devastated.

In my case I opted for clomid/iui because of the costs of letrozole. This last cycle I was successful with a combo of clomid/injectibles/iui. Hang in there and good luck!!
