Letrozole is effective in increasing final adult height. Many medical studies have shown that. Most doctors don't know it yet. The recommended dose of 2.5 mg is actually not necessary. 0.3 mg will provide similar effects.

I have seen lot of posts and spent hours on the forums wherever I found mention of advanced bone age/Anastrozole/Letrozole. It seems there are quite a few posts under Pediatric Endo forum but not able to find any answers if any parents tried Anastrozole/Letrozole and what has been their experience regarding delaying bone age and side effects. I will appreciate if any parent with experience of using Anastrozole for their kids may share their experience.

My main goal is to pause the bone maturation and close the gap between his chronilogical age and his bone age so that he can reach his genetic height potential. He recently had a 3 HSD Deficiency Screen done and it came back with an elevated value of 644 mg/dl of 17-oh pregnenolone at the 60 minute mark. The normal range is 165-441. Our endocrinologist has prescribed him on 7.5 mg of cortef per day in order to get the bone age to mature at the same pace with his chronilogical age.

My son is 6 1/2 has hair in his pubic, leg, and underarm area, but his testicles are not enlarged. He has always been in the 90 to 100 percentile in both height and weight since he was 1 or so. He has always been very aggressive and hyper if you will. We are seeing a endocrinologist and have run some test. He is currently 4'6 and 77lbs. His bone age is of a 12 1/2 yr old and he is only 6 1/2.

I am looking for a solution which is safe and of course allow him to be a reasonable height. I would appreciate any input how to proceed.

Although he is quite tall now 5'4'' (95% on growth chart), because his bone age is so advanced and due to the andrache he will not have the typical growth spurt and will stop growing much earlier than other boys.

Has anyone ever used Letrozole? Was it beneficial? Did you get a BFP? Any side effects?

Gave me symptoms. I am now on letrozole. Also experiencing symptoms. Will letrozole keep this cancer away. Is there a smaller does than 2.5 of letrozole that I can take.

Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.

Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?

I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march.The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. I used to have 9 to 16 days of bleeding before letrozole! After being on letrozole, how many days are you bleeding? This is my second time with Letrozole and I had 9 days of bleeding the first time. I finally broke down after 26 mo of TTC, 8 clomid cycles, 2 IUIs and trigger shots and went to the RE for advice. After AF shows in 2 weeks or so - we will start on letrozole with CD3 blood work and U/S and then do another IUI. If that is unsuccessful - we will do IVF. I had my 1st appt with an RE today. He wants to do a superovulation / IUI with Letrozole. I am to take 2 - 2.5mg tablets days 3 - 7. After reading up on this, it is the same thing as Femara right? Has anyone taken this med and does it actually work alone? My other ? is, he said that we can try this for 3 - 4 cycles, but after that we have to think about IVF?? The only things that I have tried in the past are 4 cycles of clomid and 1 IUI. Why would he skip injectables??

Have asked before but want to hear of any positive stories using letrozole(femara) to help with ovulation, this drug is primarily a drug used to help with breast cancer and is still in research stage for fertility problems, my dr is talking with other gp's because is not happy to prescribe it to me.

Just before i found out i was pregnant my doctor had prescribed me letrozole femara which I didnt end up needing to take. Unfortunately, because I was so overwhelmed with grief over the miscarriage and could not think rationally, I decided to take the letrozole counting the bleeding from the d&c as a period in which i used from day 2 throught to day 6. As mentioned, it has now been 3 weeks 4days since the d&c and today I had a positive pregnancy test.

My period started Thursday 7/23 and I took Letrozole days 3-7. I have now finished Letrozole and am still bleeding on day 8 and I have a baseline ultrasound on Monday 8/3 to check my follicles to see if I am good to take ovidrel. I've been on Femara (Letrozole) for about a year and a half. It didn't do anything for me...I never even had a period without forcing it. I recently had ovarian drilling and I know it has made a difference. After the drilling, the femara is supposed to be more effective so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
