255732 tn?1318517822 is, he said that we can try this for 3 - 4 cycles, but after that we have to think about IVF?? The only things that I have tried in the past are 4 cycles of clomid and 1 IUI. Why would he skip injectables??
Avatar n tn I have done Letrozole twice now, one with an IUI that ended up with a BFN this morning. I'm super bummed about it...trying to be as positive as possible. Will go in for a beta tomorrow morning to check where my hormone levels are-that has to be helpful to know, right? We've been ttc for over 2 years now and had a mc in Feb. 08 when trying w/o meds or anything. I had no side effects with Letrozole and my lining was great apparently.
Avatar n tn Last week, I had Laparoscopy surgery for my endometriosis (which resulted in stage 1). My doctor is prescribing Letrozole, everyday for 2 months, to clean up any endometriosis that may have been missed during surgery. After the 2 months, I would take 1 Letrozole for 5 days to promote ovulation. Any suggestions? Right path? Or is the only option I have is another IVF? Thank you...
1287560 tn?1272216521 If you are seing an OBGYN, most have not heard of using femara (letrozole) for fertility. It is a breast cancer drug. It has not been FDA approved to treat infertility issues. I was seeing a RE and he put me on it and also did IUI with it. I am now 12 weeks pg with Twins. It can and it does work! :) When I went back to my OB for my prenatal care, she asked me what was done to get me pg and she said she had never heard of it....so that may be why. Best of luck to you!!!!

99627 tn?1301270952 Generally, after a total of three failed cycles of clomid-IUI you and your REI might want to think about either injections with IUI, or IVF again. My vote would be for IVF, assuming that you had good egg yield and good fertilization your first two tries. Remember in nature the chances of getting pregnant every month are at best less than 30% - you just may not have given IVF enough of a chance.
Avatar f tn Are you doing IVF???I did ivf first time they transfered 4 embryos on monday, they said all embryos good quality, all 8-10 cells 1 was even at 12 cell on day 3 transfer so excited and nervous for results...
148691 tn?1260194903 Hello, I am extremelly frustrated at this point of TTC. A year and some ago I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks, followed by a DNC and a chemical pregnancy. In March, i got discovered a fibroid in my uterus and was put on lupron to shrink it. In May i went under Lap and found no fibroid and some endo that the RE took care of. Now, after all this time and my husband's good SA results, both have been checked for blood and chromosomal disorders and we are all clear, we still can't get pregnant!
Avatar f tn OK, I have irregular cycles and I also have PCOS, my ob said for my husband and I to. Start trying to conceive, my ob upped my dosage of Metformin to 2, 500mg a day and to stop taking my birth control. He said if I don't have a period within 35 days come back, well its been two days on Metformin and I have already started, but I was wondering how long do I have to take this before I can get Clomid?
Avatar n tn Just before i found out i was pregnant my doctor had prescribed me letrozole femara which I didnt end up needing to take. Unfortunately, because I was so overwhelmed with grief over the miscarriage and could not think rationally, I decided to take the letrozole counting the bleeding from the d&c as a period in which i used from day 2 throught to day 6. As mentioned, it has now been 3 weeks 4days since the d&c and today I had a positive pregnancy test.
Avatar f tn My husband and I have been trying for almost 1 year. I was on Clomid for 6 months and last cycle switched to Letrozole. Now my period is 4 days late and 2 pregnancy tests say NEGATIVE - this is killing me! My OB has told me I will have to take progesterone to bring on my period. Has anyone else had a late period due to Letrozole or had negative PG tests but turned out they were PG? Thank you.
Avatar f tn We have been ttc for 9 months, For the last five, we received ART assistance--2 IUI cycles with Letrozole and 3 cycles with just Lotrozole. We were preparing for our third IUI this week when the news came that my FSH levels were high--21 and my AMH low--.4. We were told that we could do just as well on our own as they could, and that we had a <5% chance of success even with IVF-- in essence sending us home with minimal hope. We were of course devastated.
Avatar f tn I was then put on letrozole (femara) days 3-7. Went in on day 14 for an u/s and had a follicle measuring 17.5mm. Did OPK for a few days and got my +. Went in the following day and had IUI. I am now 12.5 weeks pg with TWINS! It can and it does work!!!
4548024 tn?1590005019 I only ever tried clomid when I was doing iui's. I never tried Femara but I've heard of many women who have but don't ever recall them becoming pregnant. I have since moved onto IVF for many reasons. I have what's considered a difficult case. I hope it works for you and gets you a BFP!!
Avatar f tn I am on Clomid and Menopur. I am doing a semi natural IVF. Once that is done they wait for my uterus to get back to normal and then implant the embryos at the optimum time.
Avatar f tn Looks like we both were using the same kinda meds. Letrozole is another name for femara. So far i only had one follie. Never had more than 1. I am not sure if upping the dose will help. Will hv to talk to my doc if this fail. Good luck to u. I know it is very frustrating.
Avatar f tn me and my husband have been trying to concive for 4yrs now and we have been on clomide and letrozole with no success. Recently we have been refered for IVF with ICSI. am really worried about the ICSI part as most evidence report a lot of health problems to the baby. does anyone have any take on this. please help cos i am even thinking of not having it if it means i am gonna subject my child to a lot of health issues.

795248 tn?1250686616 Hi! I am 31y.o. and have unexplained infertility. Have had a laproscopy and cromotubation and tons of blood work and I am perfectly healthy and beyond perfect for conception. Except for the fact that I can't conceive. My husband is perfect also. We've tried clomid for 4mos. and letrozole plus iui last month and tested this morning and got a neg hpt. I'm starting to lose hope. Has anyone else been here??
Avatar f tn Has anyone had success with IVF at the Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM)???? I've just had my second failed IUI, first with clomid and then the second with letrozole and am considering skipping the 3rd recommended IUI and going straight to IVF. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like if IUI was going to work, it would have worked by now. I'm sure everyone on here can relate, but I'm just so disappointed and every month that goes by gets worse and worse.
Avatar f tn On days 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 I need to take 1T/day of Letrozole (to stimulate folicle growth). From day 8 onwards 2T/day of Progynova (to ensure thickening of my uteral lining) and from the 3rd day after ovulation, I need to take Duphaston. I can tolerate Letrozole and Duphaston without any problems. But Progynova gives me horrible side effects: dizziness, extreme low energy level and anxiety attacks (never had anxiety before).
1907191 tn?1468100974 If this one fails we are going straight to IVF which we need to pay for, which is approx £3,500- not sure what that is in $. But it will be worth it of we all get our miracles eh :o) Lots and lots of babydust to you both.
Avatar f tn Have you seen a doctor? That is definitely what you need to do. You will need to have a complete work up and your boyfriend should be tested too. There are so many factors that go into "making a baby!" We tried for seven years, so I feel your pain. We were only able to conceive through IVF. But if you haven't even seen a doctor yet, there's a very viable chance that you will be able to conceive once he figures out what's going on. Good luck!
Avatar f tn My RE had suggested 6-8 cycles of gonal-f before moving to ivf. I would have gone to ivf sooner but have no insurance coverage for it, so wanted to give iui a good try first. Good luck. Don't lose hope!
1190279 tn?1324936257 I had letrozole(femara) and follistim and only had 1. They should monitor you so you know how many follicles u produce before u do the hcg shot. Good luck.
