Avatar f tn Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?
Avatar n tn At any rate, of course it is possible that you may get pregnant. However, if you have been having infertility treatment for two years and are still not pregnant, I wonder if you should not consider more aggressive treatment than just a fertility pill with inseminations, particularly if you have regular periods without fertility medication, and particularly if you have used fertility pills in the past.
1626928 tn?1378850167 Treatment of endometriosis will depend on its severity. Consult an infertility expert. Do not get disheartened as treatment for infertility may take a few years to give results. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Unexplained infertility for 1.5 years. I am not sure what could be the reason for my infertility , it might be endo but they didn't do a laparo for me yet. If anyone can tell me what other options do I have if Clomid failed?? So what worked for you ?
795248 tn?1250686616 Hi! I am 31y.o. and have unexplained infertility. Have had a laproscopy and cromotubation and tons of blood work and I am perfectly healthy and beyond perfect for conception. Except for the fact that I can't conceive. My husband is perfect also. We've tried clomid for 4mos. and letrozole plus iui last month and tested this morning and got a neg hpt. I'm starting to lose hope. Has anyone else been here??
Avatar f tn I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march. The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.
6889053 tn?1386025503 Drug like Clomiphene is used as first line drug for treatment of PCOS related infertility. It has been observed that approximately 60-70 percent ovulate after taking Clomiphene. Along with Clomiphene lifestyle modifications like weight control, exercise are very important to improve the success rates of Clomiphene.Tamoxifen and gonadotropins are other drugs which can help women with PCOS to get pregnant.
Avatar f tn how long is a typical cycle of femara (2.5mg)? what are the success rates with this in infertility? This discussion is related to Femara 2.5 mg.
1057389 tn?1325465587 I am on my third treatment cycle of letrozole and the last cycle I mistook the break through bleeding as implantation bleeding, which occurred on 6 nonconsecutive days after I ovulated. This is so hard on the heart?!! I hope that this is your month to get pregnant! If any of you are wanting to use letrozole they have a free 30-day trial http://www.femara.com/thank-you6-femara-cares.jsp. This saved me about $330 of infertility treatment.
Avatar n tn Just before i found out i was pregnant my doctor had prescribed me letrozole femara which I didnt end up needing to take. Unfortunately, because I was so overwhelmed with grief over the miscarriage and could not think rationally, I decided to take the letrozole counting the bleeding from the d&c as a period in which i used from day 2 throught to day 6. As mentioned, it has now been 3 weeks 4days since the d&c and today I had a positive pregnancy test.
Avatar f tn I had first round of IUI in March after 3 years of infertility and ended up miscarrying at 7 weeks. What are the odds we will get pregnant again soon? I didnt get my first period post miscarriage for about 6 weeks; so thought about trying again next month (July). Need some encouragement.
1121300 tn?1426184776 Hi Sherry, I only did the trigger injection with clomid and it worked. Mine was right about $1200 as well since my insurance doesn't cover infertility. Hope you have good luck with this, it will be worth it!
Avatar f tn The REs know these drugs well and can tailor your treatment even during the course of the cycle. The clomid and letrozole just kick start the follies into action but the injectibles really keep them growing. Best of luck!!
Avatar m tn My AF started a few days earlier than expected. I have started another round of Letrozole and added dexamethasone this time. I go to the Dr. for my monthly visit Friday.
Avatar f tn Gonna be using infertility injections. Have been doing some research n just curious which ones have you tried. And did they work? On the last round i had great looking eggs but due to the clomid my lining wasnt thick enough. So nervous and excited for January to get here.
1287560 tn?1272216521 If you are seing an OBGYN, most have not heard of using femara (letrozole) for fertility. It is a breast cancer drug. It has not been FDA approved to treat infertility issues. I was seeing a RE and he put me on it and also did IUI with it. I am now 12 weeks pg with Twins. It can and it does work! :) When I went back to my OB for my prenatal care, she asked me what was done to get me pg and she said she had never heard of it....so that may be why. Best of luck to you!!!!
Avatar f tn We have been ttc for 9 months, For the last five, we received ART assistance--2 IUI cycles with Letrozole and 3 cycles with just Lotrozole. We were preparing for our third IUI this week when the news came that my FSH levels were high--21 and my AMH low--.4. We were told that we could do just as well on our own as they could, and that we had a <5% chance of success even with IVF-- in essence sending us home with minimal hope. We were of course devastated.
1773487 tn?1331540488 i did use Letrozole for 6 cycles...but no BFP...there were no side effects either....just got cramps during those entire cycles...i know 2 of my patients who used d same...one of them who had PCOD concieved with timed intercourse n letroz...d other who had endo like me didn't...however she got preggo by ICSI...Letroz is now banned in several countries but here in India its widely used....
Avatar f tn Does it require some kind of preparation or can I start the treatment at any time. I do not ovulate on my own and I never get periods due to my PCOS which have been diagnosed 2 years ago. I have been taking Metformin 1500mg/day and sometimes Provera 10mg to get a period and then Letrozole 7.5mg cd 5-9 but never got any results. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over 2 years. Im 26 years old and desperate to have a baby.
Avatar f tn Hi, Typically ovulation monitoring is carried out along with ovulation stimulating drugs like Letrozole. The monitoring can be done through external sonography but infertility specialists prefer vaginal sonography to find out the exact date when you ovulate and also the size of follicle(s).
Avatar f tn re 56 years old), taking letrozole (another hormonal treatment) for a few years after completion of the course of Tamoxifen will further lower the risk of cancer recurrence. You may wish to consider this option. Of course, this medication has its own set of side effects. While the side effects of letrozole are generally milder than those of Tamoxifen (less hot flashes, vomiting and vaginal dryness), this drug can cause more significant osteoporosis than Tamoxifen.
