femara

Avatar m tn Gave me symptoms. I am now on letrozole. Also experiencing symptoms. Will letrozole keep this cancer away. Is there a smaller does than 2.5 of letrozole that I can take.
Avatar f tn I've been on Femara (Letrozole) for about a year and a half. It didn't do anything for me...I never even had a period without forcing it. I recently had ovarian drilling and I know it has made a difference. After the drilling, the femara is supposed to be more effective so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Avatar f tn After surgery, I had radiation therapy, plus taking tamoxifen. My cancer is stage 1 and grade 1Gradually, my hot flash is stopped and my life is back to near normal. I noticed that I always very thirsty, my eyes are dry, my skin, hair also dry. I also have joint pain occurred in joint, both small and large joint. I read the symtom of Sjogren's syndrome which is a incurable auto-immune system problem which is that the glands produce lubrication has stop function properly.
Avatar f tn Dear Setter, You have received the good, standard chemotherapy drugs for recurrent ovarian cancer. There have been studies looking at anti estrogen and anti aromatase drugs for women with recurrence ovarian cancer. The drugs that have been used include tamoxifen, arimidex, letrozole. The response rate has varied from 0 to 50 %.. there may be correlation with the hormone receptor status of your tumor but this has not been well studied.
Avatar m tn t had a period or ovulate on my own so my doctor put me on provera, metformin, and letrozole(femara) to get pregnant but the metformin alone will help you NOT to have a miscarriage...good luck to you sweetie. I think you should ask your doctor about taking metformin, it corrects PCOS also...
6889053 tn?1386025503 Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?
Avatar f tn Hello, Letrozole i s used to treat certain types of breast cancer (such as hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer) in women after menopause. Letrozole is also used to help prevent the cancer from returning. It is not used for fertility treatment rountinely. Consult a gynecologist to discuss about the treatment options. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn I finally broke down after 26 mo of TTC, 8 clomid cycles, 2 IUIs and trigger shots and went to the RE for advice. After AF shows in 2 weeks or so - we will start on letrozole with CD3 blood work and U/S and then do another IUI. If that is unsuccessful - we will do IVF. Has anyone done letrozole vs clomid? side affects? BFPs?
Avatar f tn I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer and have been offered a trial on Letrozole before and after surgery along with radiotherapy. I would appreciate knowing any side effects when taken along with Lithium and mood swings suffered if any.
Avatar f tn My husband and I have been trying for almost 1 year. I was on Clomid for 6 months and last cycle switched to Letrozole. Now my period is 4 days late and 2 pregnancy tests say NEGATIVE - this is killing me! My OB has told me I will have to take progesterone to bring on my period. Has anyone else had a late period due to Letrozole or had negative PG tests but turned out they were PG? Thank you.
Avatar m tn Hi, my mom (79 years old) was diagnosed with breast cancer last week, I think it's stage I (less than 2cm in size, and lymp nodes are fine, whole body ultrasound scan + lung/head CT are also fine). here is her report: ER + 90%; PR + 40%; AR + 70%; C-erbB-2 ++ (waiting for FISH results); P53 -; Ki-67 + 20%; CK5/6 -; E-cad +; EGFR weak + Doctor has prescribed letrozole (mainly because of her age). I'm thinking surgery might be a better option. any advice? Thank you!
Avatar n tn I was 26 when I discovered I had ovarian cancer. I had a foot long tumor on my ovary which turned out to be a juvenile granulosa cell tumor. My tumor burst on the operating table and they performed a complete hysterectomy removing both ovaries as well. The tumor board recommended chemotherapy so 2 months after my first surgery I started chemo. The chemotherapy included sisplaytin, if I'm spelling that correctly, and it was quite harsh .
1030058 tn?1252253572 (beyond the initial 5 years) is with letrozole (Femara) after 5 years of tamoxifen. Letrozole and anastrozole (Arimidex) are both aromatase inhibitors and are very similar to one another. In most of the adjuvant studies using these drugs, 5 years of treatment has been given. An ongoing study will compare 5 to 10 years of aromatase inhibitors but there are no results available yet on that study.
1319297 tn?1274794630 I took 10 letrozole pills on May 2nd and then the HCG shot on the 12th and I have been really moody and emotional since. I've taken clomid before and expected it but they told me these would have no side effects. This is my first time doing the whole fertility process after having surgery for endometriosis. Am I just psyching myself out or has anyone else experienced bad mood swings after the shot or pills?

Avatar n tn However, those cells which are only mildly ER positive or are ER negative are only slightly affected by letrozole or not at all. These types of cancer cells now have the opportunity to grow, multiply and become the majority population. On repeat testing, ER positivity is now observed to have decreased, since more cells are now only mildly ER positive or are ER negative.
Avatar n tn I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and was on depo to help with the pain, but now I would like to have another child I only have one and he is 9.... I'm off depo now, what advice would you give me on trying to conceive?!
Avatar n tn I have stage 1C ovarian cancer. I had a hysterectomy and staging surgery on November 15, 2007, and am currently undergoing chemotherapy. I am 46 years old, and had normal levels of hormones prior to diagnosis. Following the surgery, my doctor put me on estrogen patches (HRT). It is his belief that the benefits of estrogen outweigh the risks at my age. My pathology report showed that my ovarian cancer was estrogen receptive/reactive. So why is HRT okay?
1773487 tn?1331540488 While browsing, i found that Letroz is prescribed for breast cancer patients. Not sure how will this relate to conceive. Have any of you used this tablet while trying to get conceived? Kindly help...im very scared to continue with this tablet or not.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has used letrozole to get pregnant and if so did you have any side effects while taking it? My doc just prescribed it and I am just curious about it's effectiveness..
