Avatar n tn c because of the letrozole? or is it just that my hcg levels have not completely dropped yet? Now that I am starting to mentally recover from the miscarriage I am so scared that I may have done some damage to my reproductive system by taking that letrozole whilst my hcg levels were still so high (around 70,000). Please help me, I dont know what to do. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over 2 years and I am afraid that i may have now ruined all my chances.
1057389 tn?1325465587 I am on my third treatment cycle of letrozole and the last cycle I mistook the break through bleeding as implantation bleeding, which occurred on 6 nonconsecutive days after I ovulated. This is so hard on the heart?!! I hope that this is your month to get pregnant! If any of you are wanting to use letrozole they have a free 30-day trial http://www.femara.com/thank-you6-femara-cares.jsp. This saved me about $330 of infertility treatment.
Avatar n tn I hope1125, When I started seeing my fertility doctor the first thig we tried was 3 cycles of iui's with clomid and HCG injections and one cycle with progestrone which were all unsuccessful. He then suggested a laparoscopy. At the same time of the laparoscopy, surgery was performed to remove a slight case of endometriosis and adhesions from both tubes. I had no clue I had either. My doctor told me that I was as good as new and he seen me getting pregnant within the next 6 months......
Avatar f tn 11.7, 15.8 and 16mm. Back to back IUI was performed at 24 and 48 hours following the HCG. I am curious what others have experienced with regard to follicle size and successful pregnancy? Singleton, twins, another negative, etc...
Avatar n tn While we are excited, I am terrified that we may have high order multiples. We used Follistim and letrozole. I had an IUI on cycle day 12. On day 9 I had 3 dominant follicles measuring 18 and one smaller one at 12. I did not have another ultrasound after this. I took one more dose of Follistim per my dr. orders and then took my trigger shot on day 10. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn Ok, so, doc doubled my Letrozole this cycle and for first time had more than one follicle growing so had hope this time..a little history, I have PCOS and Agressive Endometriosis. 2 failed IUI's so far with letrozole and HCG inj. Before that, Clomid for 9 months with no success. So this time again, follicles on the left stopped growing at 14mm, and the one on the right was 24mm today but was a anuovulated.. Spelling may be wrong.
Avatar f tn They monitored my follicles and lining. I can just hope and pray for now. And ohhh. With my fertility specialist, they will do an iui twice for a cycle. Which is today and tomorrow. My gynae just did my iui once in a cycle.
Avatar f tn I am. Just had my HCG shot yesterday. Took letrozole aka femara on cd3 to cd7.
Avatar f tn I meant Clomid and now Letrozole with HCG inj past 2 IUI's...
Avatar f tn Hi. Just to clarify matters: Femara is the brand name of the drug letrozole. Since you've already taken this drug and it has caused you severe joint pain, it's really not advisable for you to be taking it again. In the MA-17 clinical trial, Femara/letrozole was intended to be given for a duration of 5 years after Tamoxifen. However, patients in that study were only treated for an average of two years before the study was unblinded.
Avatar f tn He tried me on one more round of clomid 150mg to no avail. I had an HSG done and all tubes were clear. I was then put on letrozole (femara) days 3-7. Went in on day 14 for an u/s and had a follicle measuring 17.5mm. Did OPK for a few days and got my +. Went in the following day and had IUI. I am now 12.5 weeks pg with TWINS! It can and it does work!!!
Avatar n tn I have had the hcg shot for 3 cycles and still nothing. I am thinking that I have something else as well as having PCOS. I am not sure what else to do. I can't afford to have and IUI. I am 31 years old so I would like to get pregnant soon.
Avatar f tn 50mg, 100 mg and 150 mg (twice). I never did injectibles. Instead I went on Letrozole (femara) and got pg with that and IUI the first time. I am 12 weeks preggo with twins. So, there are many alternatives if clomid does not work for you. Dont lose hope!
1190279 tn?1324936257 I had letrozole(femara) and follistim and only had 1. They should monitor you so you know how many follicles u produce before u do the hcg shot. Good luck.
256553 tn?1258883918 Hey!! This is my third round of letrozole. 1st with an iui, 2nd with natural trying, 3rd with iui on may 2nd. This is my last round of letrozole so I pray it worked. Good luck!!!!
Avatar f tn I have unexplained fertility and started on the works - letrozole pills and Gonal F injectable, then when follicles big enough Ovidrel shot, then IUI then Progesterone pills. This us our first cycle of trying anything and I'm 39. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question and we apologize for delay in response! We are glad you are on to maintenance therapy for your previous cancer! Typically, letrozole does have a favorable side effect profile in relation to toxicity. This doesn't mean it is side effect free, however. The trade off is that it does appear affective in terms of prolonging recurrence.
1340383 tn?1309990914 I have used both and after five attempts with clomid no success and the first try with letrozole I got pregnant with my son due to placenta ruption. I'm trying letrozole again with this cycle.
1190279 tn?1324936257 Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.
99627 tn?1301270952 I had ovarian Cyst removed in 2003 and doctor found some endometriosis and cleared it. We did 3 IUIs before we did 2 IVF no succes. We changed our RE and he started me on clomid the first month for clomid challenge test. My FSH came back 9.2 on both day 3 and day 10. I am 30 years old, so he said this was little on the high side. DH did SA and morphology is only 4% normal. RE put me on Femara this month and did IUI again, unfortunately did not get pregnant.
6889053 tn?1386025503 So, I took birth control for a month and a half to allow it to shrink. I then started Letrozole this cycle. I would go with what your doctor says. From my understanding, the Letrozole will help you to produce follicles, where Metformin helps to regulate insulin, which in turn helps you to ovulate. Taking the Letrozole may be good, because you need follicles.
Avatar f tn I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march. The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.
1773487 tn?1331540488 I did letrozole(femara) with injectibles and timed intercourse. It worked first try and my baby is now a little over 10 months. I didn't have any side effects from it(except pregnancy lol).
Avatar m tn I don't understand your question .... if you mean the difference between Femara and Letrozole .... if you mean the difference between the two names there isn't any. Letrozole is the Generic Name for Femara. Regards ....
1319297 tn?1274794630 I took 10 letrozole pills on May 2nd and then the HCG shot on the 12th and I have been really moody and emotional since. I've taken clomid before and expected it but they told me these would have no side effects. This is my first time doing the whole fertility process after having surgery for endometriosis. Am I just psyching myself out or has anyone else experienced bad mood swings after the shot or pills?
Avatar n tn So I phoned the fertility clinic and they did E2 and LH. The same day they called me back and my E2 was very high so I had an ultrasound. I had many big cysts on my ovaries and the doctor told me that Clomid is not working for me. So I am suppose to have protected intercourse for the next 2 weeks and he'll call me back for setting another plan. I read so many success stories about Clomid and I feel very discouraged.
