operation

Avatar f tn Your stuttering problem should have nothing to do with your operation on your hip. Are you on any medication at the moment for pain relief or any other medications that could slow down your brain? With your leg involuntarily twitching this is likely to be because of nerves that run in the leg. Have you been given any gentle exercises to do by the physiotherapist or told what to do by post operation by your specialist?
784382 tn?1376931040 they are not born with a remote/game in their hand, a lot of times I feel that parents just want some peace and that TV and PC are doing the work for them, now dont get me wrong all these modern tech inventions are good, it seems that it takes a turn for the worst when children have no rules and put the games on as soon as they get in from school, from my experience children do better in life when Parents are in control, take an interest in school and learning, read books, sing songs, plenty

Avatar f tn This is a powerful tool for parents to help kids learn that they are in charge of their actions and outcomes in a positive manner. I also would recommend the book "Love and Logic". It is about natural consequences for kids. She may need to make it up to a sibling if she yells at them. The whole family will have to curtail the outing if she acts up. Everyone goes home when it happens after a warning.

When I bought that doll, I saw a "Thumbalina" $100.00 for reproduction. I will buy it for myself. I never had one and all the neighborhood girls, five of them had each a one for Xmas one year. Avatar f tn My 10 year is in charge of games and the sweets table, one game is pregnant twister. The kids would put a balloon under their shirt and play twister, whoever loses their balloon is out. Then we have measure mom's belly, 40/60 raffle $5 labour guesses (date, weight and time) 40% goes to the winner and 60% goes to baby, and guess price items on baby supplies.
Avatar n tn Just so long as you know that his behaviour is absolutely normal for a 5 year old, then you can deal with this in a grown up way. I agree that it is undesirable for young children to be fixated about 'sex', but at this age looking at the bodies of other children and playing kissing games happens frequently and isn't a sign of future perversion.
973741 tn?1342342773 Times have greatly changed from when I was a kid! Enter electronics. I've read and know the addictive component to gaming. And it is true, it seems to cause kids to throw out all reason to 'finish the game'. It's hard though because it has become a social avenue for kids. They don't 'talk on the phone' like my generation did. Now they text or talk through their headphones and the X box. I heard my son tell his friends to 'meet him on x box in an hour'.
203342 tn?1328737207 Hey, I just thought I'd share this. Did you know that there are vidoe games that can actually help kids with ADD concentrate better? And you know all kids like video games so it wouldn't seem like work to them! There are two that I know of. There's the Smart Box which includes a helmet with built in sensors to moniter brain activity. As long as players remain calmly focused on the game, it plays normally.
Avatar n tn I had not seen her son since he was born. he is 5yrs now. I stayed with them for about a month and i really had hard time. That 5yrs kid used want to touch me all the time. When m playing with him or carrying him he used to try to slip his hand under my t-shirt. he used to ask me to lie down so that he can touch me. He used to try to touch my private parts almost all the time but i used to push his hand away.
Avatar m tn I suffered a discetomy/laminectomy 20 years ago for a severe L5-S1 herniation. A rather successful operation until now as I've been suffering for leg pain for several months. With the aid of a MRI and an electromiography my neurosurgeon considers it a case of late post-op lumbar fibrosis with a severe radiculopathy from the S1 nerve root. I'm on conservative treatment. (Lyrica150mg/day, Ibuprofen 1200mg/day).
Avatar m tn i am not sure what the reason for the leg pain, i had it before and after operation i had, it did seemed to go away some before i went to phyical therapy then it came back full blast
561393 tn?1320962815 Well I definitely see your dilemma, and I've been there myself! Although my kids stay interested in toys for longer, I totally appreciate the sentiment (3yrs and 1 yr and due in April).... But I would say...maybe the lodge isn't the best place, especially if it's a stretch financially? the 2-year-old and the newborn won't appreciate it, won't remember it, and to THEM, toys are concrete, even if they're quickly outgrown.
Avatar f tn The orthopedic surgeon has said that he thinks he can save my ACL ligament via an operation without the use of a graft. He said by doing this type of operation it will be much better in terms of healing ect. I have to do this operation within 8 weeks of the injury occurring or he said it isn't possible and I would have to have a different operation. I have been trying to research this style of operation but I can only find the option where it talks about using a graft from other body parts.
Avatar f tn I knoww but guys love there gamess lol
5623087 tn?1377889284 Some kids are tiny even though she's 8, 40pds is the usual for a 5/6 year old.. but I agree tell.
Avatar n tn I am 23 years old, 5'4 and 90 lbs, my BMI is around 14.9 and I am having an open surgery next month to remove a 7 cm dermoid cyst on my right ovary and there's a 70% chance they'd remove my right ovary too, the cut would be just under my abdominal and it's about 10 cm, would it be okay to have the operation if I'm this skinny?
7607165 tn?1395780125 Your baby is used to the loud noise already from hearing it somewhat in the belly. If you make it completely quiet while baby sleeps then baby will wake easily with small noises. I had to come up with quieter games, craft time, and rewards. How old are your boys?
Avatar f tn after all these two were natural miracle babies for us since I was told I would never have kids. So, naturally it saddens me to not have anymore kids since I now can after being told I'd never, but, on this past Monday my hubby got a vasectomy.
Avatar n tn Thats why it doesnt work , overkill, too many yelling sessions and spanking you are getting nowhere with that, try the opposite focus on their positive side and praise them when they do something good , children respond to lots of attention, if there is a Dad around get him involved with Games a nd sports and outside Activities. They are still young enough to use the time out system.
Avatar n tn It sounds to me like she has a long way to go, at least a year, you need to give her more time at home, encourage her to play some fun learning games, team work games, and social skils games. Being physicaly smaller then 95% of the kids in her class i should point out that there is a chance she may have either a growth disorder (such as dwarfisim), or Turner Syndrome.

Avatar f tn Makes sense to me too.... Is this some more of the "instant gratification"? Mom and Dad both had a hard day at work, the kids "only" had to go to school.........Dad wants to go have a couple drinks with his buddies, mom wants to go the gym or book club -- sure we can let the video games entertain the kids for a couple hours.
