Avatar m tn Knee replaced 11-13-09. Finally felt I've been making some progress until yesterday. During therapy, performing lateral steps over 6" hurdles, I felt a sudden pain and kind of a pop on the interior medial aspect, a little toward the back of the knee. During the course of the day, I would experience sudden pain causing me to yell out, even when non-weight bearing. My wife appreciates this.
Avatar f tn When i press lump there is irritability and pain. It hurts to straighten knee. I had an x-ray that shows a minor lateral patella tracking but my knee cap does not hurt. I have had this for a year, what can I do to fix this and go back to sport?
Avatar m tn I have a hard boney bump on the outer side of my left knee cap. I only started to notice the bump after I've increased my running miles. The bump has only recently started to give me pain while I'm active. It is not painful to touch, but it hurts really bad when I climb stairs or bend my knee. What could be the problem?
Avatar m tn 6 weeks after the surgery I was still having the pain and discomfort behind my knee. I experience increased tightness and pain with exercise....the more I use it the less I am able to do. Even walking causes discomfort. I am not able to pick up my foot and move it back as if trying to touch my butt with my foot. I have a tight, full feeling and its painful. to sit for a period and then attempt to get up and walk is almost unheard of now.
Avatar f tn Tender to touch with medium to deep palpating. Pain NOT over bone. I am in my 60’s. No knee pain. Pain approx. 1 inch lateral to proximal tibia. What the heck happened here?
Avatar m tn I felt no discomfort then, but each day afterward for about a week I felt first pain on the lateral side of the knee, then the pain moved to the medial side of the knee, now the only discomfort is on the posterior portion of the knee in the soft tissue with my leg straight as I walk. It was bad enough last week that I was limping, (almost ready for a cane) but it was intermittent. What happened to my knee and what should I do to heal it and for how long?
Avatar f tn (1)well defined altered signal intensity lesion(13*7*6 mm) in postero lateral endosteum region of proximal metaphysis of tibia-s\o osteoid osteoma (2)grade 1 changes in posterior horn of lateral meniscus What should I do? Will exercise and calcium tablets work? Please advice..
Avatar f tn My left was done in Janurary 2007 and my right knee was done in July 2007. Since the surgery I have had severe pain espically on the outside of the right knee. I have pain in both knees and limited movement in both. The pain has not gotten any better with time. I did have an injection of steroids about 6 months ago that helped some but things have not gotten any better since. Has anyone else had this sort of problem?
Avatar f tn The MCL is intact. LATERAL COMPARTMENT: Allowing for motion artifact, there is fraying to the lateral meniscal posterior horn free edge, and the posterior root is diminutive. Superficial chondral fibrillation is present at the posterior meniscal surface of the tibial plateau without subchondral remodeling. Intact lateral collateral ligament complex and structures of the posterolateral corner. INTERCONDYLAR NOTCH: The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are intact.
Avatar f tn I did competitive gymnastics for over 11 years, and I always had some kind of knee pain. I never adressed it, because I figured that it was just from overuse. Now I am a rower in college, and I am having a lot of trouble with my knees. It started in January, so i went to see the athletic trainer at my college. After doing pt and stim and ice with her for over a month, i did not see any results.
Avatar m tn I had open excision of bipartite patella and lateral release to my left knee in August 2014. I had a hematoma and potential infection so they did a clean out in September 2014. I was still experiencing pain and tightness in my knee as well as in the quad tendon but have been able to resume training with running, squatting, jumping, etc. Laying on my back, lifting my leg, and bending my leg back and forth usually creates some discomfort and a little grinding in the knee.
1069378 tn?1255215132 , but my knee never healed and in fact the pain has spread to other parts of my knee and my knee swells very easily when I do anything (upright, sitting, sleeping). The MRI shows that my lateral meniscus is torn again and x-rays show I have osteoarthritis. One of the orthopedic surgeons I saw suggested trying Synvisc injections before resorting to surgery, especially since the surgery will involve removing the rest of my lateral meniscus which will in turn worsen the osteoarthritis.
Avatar f tn a bakers cyst is a fluid filled sac in the back of the knee. inside your knee, providing padding on top of your tibia, there are two "pads" called menisci (medial and lateral) and by the report, it sounds like you have a tear to the lateral meniscus. a grade 3 tear is usually the worst. (grade 1, 2 and 3) truncated means 'short' so a short/small meniscus? (that would be my best guess:) i really dont know about the staying off the legs. and surgery...
Avatar m tn Dear I have also same poblem in my left knee i am working in saudi arabia. i filling very worst pain. i go to india i shown doctors. in my MRI report they found GRADE I CHNGES IN THE PROSTERIOR HORN OF MEDIAL MINISCUS. he gave me to do some exercises.and medicine. then i came back in saudi here i woking 8 hours sitting on chair. now same problem paining is worst when i sit more time. Avatar m tn On September 27th/17 i had a lateral release on my right knee, during surgery if was found that i had deep fissue behind my patella, had a torn meniscus, and needed the removal of a thick pilca. i have had a slow recovery and have had consistent pain, snapping, popping, crunching, grinding..ect.
Avatar n tn My problem started 2 yr back as sharp pricking pain along lateral aspect of the right knee with numbness(5 to 15%) when compared to other adjacent area. After some 3 to 4 months later in the same area there is tinigling sensation develop, this tingling slowly progressive towards thigh region 1 yr back pain in the lateral aspect of the left popliteal fossa develop which is sharp and burning nature and radiating towards calf muscles.
Avatar n tn i play about 2 or more hours at a time, everything is fine the first hr or hour and a half. After that the side of my knee begins to hurt and after a while i cant put any weight on it. My lateral movement is almost completely gone and then i can barely walk. Afterwards that whole night im in severe pain, worse after sitting for a bit and trying to stand up. Up until today everytime that would happen the next day my knee would be perfectly fine, this time it stayed sore for longer than ususal.
Avatar m tn Now pain located vicinity of lateral collateral ligament and behind knee. Sharp pain behind knee upon straightening/standing. Also pain behind knee hen bending (I.e. Getting in an out of car, drivers side). Flexing foot to put shoe on cause sharpe pain around lateral collateral ligament. Knee slightly swollen an somewhat warm. Any ideas.
Avatar f tn i can not walk arond a store without the foot and ankle and knee swelling so bad. cant do stairs, bend knee, get on the knee, or evan keep it srait for long periods of time. i want to know if this is normal? i seen my ortho surgeon who did the surgery on april 30 2009 and he now says he does not know whats wrong. i asked for a second opion and he said i could not have one. what should i do? and how do i get this fix so im not disabled all my life for im only 29 right now.......
Avatar m tn You should find a different surgeon. I am a surgical technician and have first assited in knee replacements. Let me tell you,the glue must not have "attached" the bone to the implant or they could have put the wrong size implant in. As for him saying you need to lose weight, how can you do that without exercise? You can't exercise if your knee is painful. Most people who have knee replacements are overweight so not sure why he would have said that.
6736456 tn?1384270917 About 3 days in with this pain my left buttock and behind the left knee started feeling numb (or like a falling asleep feeling). No pain between the buttock and knee. I went to a chiropractor and she said it is not a sciatic pinch because it is not a continuous pain down the leg. My lower back pain is gone, but still have the other pains.
Avatar f tn I was stupid enough to have a Lateral Release done on my right knee before my other knee completely healed and now have severe chronic pain in both of my knees. After realizing it was getting worse I did some research only to find out that the surgery can have the exact opposite effect on the knee. I have been living with debilitating pain for almost 7 years now and nothing will make it better.
Avatar n tn Bending knee after putting weight on it often causes painless popping/clicking noises. Bending it with weight still applied causes louder clicking/popping. I have to be standing on it for a few minutes before it starts happening, like when you're brushing your teeth or standing in the shower. The clicking seems to be closest to the lateral posterior outside of the left knee, near the upper calf. Possibly meniscus related. A couple months ago I injured my left knee doing lunges.
Avatar m tn Pain, swelling, popping sound in the knee could be due to arthritis, as it is the most common cause of pain in the knee after recurrent injuries to the knee. Burning, tingling and radiation of the pain to the hip and ankle relates to compression of nerve. I would suggest that you visit a orthopedician and get x-ray and MRI of the knee to confirm with the diagnosis. All the best.
510679 tn?1265668267 post op surgery in august 2009(lateral release, torn meniscus repair and scraping of knee to get arthrtiis cleaned out), still no better actually more pain since but different pain. I am in severe pain most days dr wont give me no pain meds, i have tried ibuprofen so much to the point my stomach burns, so that is out. Tylenol, aleve doesnt help. I got an appt to a new dr tomorrow, so maybe he can help..was just wondering if anyone had any advice on injections..etc..
Avatar f tn the pain is at the right side of my right knee, its situated near the fibula, not indicating that my bone is the one hurting, the pain is distinctive as it only hurts in a manner or form of a thread, the pain doesn't take up all of the right part of my knee, its just a thread shape pain that seems to extend from the femur down to the fibula.
