Avatar n tn A patient with spider veins in the face will usually choose to have laser therapy rather than sclerotherapy. Laser treatment may cause minor bruising that usually improves within a week. Two to four treatments may be required to achieve your desired result. Laser energy causes your spider veins to coagulate and shrink. It is most effective for small and medium size spider veins. Large spider veins respond poorly and are best treated with sclerotherapy.
Avatar f tn As for the eye drops, we did try a few others but with no success, either didnt keep pressures down or cause REALLY dry itchy eyes so since I havent expreienced the passing out for nearly 2 years now, we opted for staying on the Cosopt since it is doing such a wonderful job of controlling my pressures. I haven't had a menstrual cycle since the implant, I have also taken a pregnancy test and came out negative. I know this is mentioned on a lot of side effect lists but I just want to make sure there's nothing I should rush to a doctor to get checked out.

Avatar n tn I had EVRF Laser treatment in mid June (2 months and 3 weeks at the time of this post), to remove my greater saphenous vein. I felt the normal / expected after effects, including heaviness, soreness, and some small sharp pains, up until one month after the procedure. Then about 2 weeks after that, i started feeling my thigh heavy again, and now at almost 3 months i'm feeling some occasional little pains on various parts of the leg (both thigh and lower leg).
Avatar n tn I am a 26 year old male. For the past few months I have had a hard vein in the left side of my penis. It feels like it runs from the base of the penis to the tip. It doesn't seem to be going away. From time to time this vein seems to radiate a dull pain. I'm not sure if this is related to my stress over the issue, or the actual issue, but erections have been less firm and more difficult to achieve.

Avatar f tn In this procedure with the help of a needle a liquid chemical is injected into the vein. This causes swelling in vein and collapsing .This stops the flow of blood, and the vein turns into scar tissue. This procedure can be done without general anesthesia and does not lead to inference in the daily activities. Laser techniques can help in curing small varicose veins. Discuss these possibilities with your doctor. Take care and regards!

Avatar n tn Basically your treatment options are observation only, retinal laser treatment, and Lucentis/Avastin injections. The actual best treatment will depend on your individual findings. If you have a true ischemic CRVO (and not just a partial CRVO, or non-ischemic CRVO) you overall prognosis for visual recovery is very, very bad. Often, visual acuity end up at 20/200, 20/400 or worse. I've seen a few very unusual cases that did better, but that is not the norm.
