587306 tn?1218529734 com/ Home » Spine Procedures » Spinal Fusion Alternative Spinal Fusion Alternative Laser surgery medical procedures offer a gentle endoscopic alternative to spinal fusions to help alleviate pain to the lower back (lumbar), upper back (thoracic) and neck (cervical). When the tube is placed into a joint, it is referred to as an arthroscopic procedure (arthro meaning joint).
Avatar m tn Had neck lift surgery 10/13 and still have lots of pulling of skin , keloids behind ears and doctor told me to see my regular Doctor so what should I do? This discussion is related to black lips.
Avatar n tn Hi Dr. Kutryb, It is my understanding that some people need laser touch up surgery post cataract surgery. Since your surgeries are done in the local hospital, would that be another hospital bill? I am a self-pay patient, Judy gave me a quote that was under the national average. Thank you, that's very nice of you. I wish you had your own facility. Unfortunately, we have a 'cadillac' hospital in a 'ford pick-up' town. I thought my question was very clear, I asked what it would cost me.
4397957 tn?1354284522 Has anyone had back surgery from this Laser Soine Institute? If so, did it help? I am running out of options with the many injections I have tried since June 2011. I am having Radio Frequency Injections over the next few visits and if they do not work may consider this Laser Institute. Looking for any Feedback form anyone who has had surgery at one of the Laser Spine Doctors. Thanks so much! God Bless.
464790 tn?1255372945 The laser therapy for NODULES is in the pilot study right now. The Pubmed placed the abstract: "Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Neck Surgery, Odense University Hospital, Odense C, Denmark. h.***@**** The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of combined cyst aspiration and ultrasound-guided interstitial laser photocoagulation (ILP) on recurrence rate and the volume of benign cystic thyroid nodules.
Avatar f tn I asked about fusing my whole neck after my second surgery and they wouldn't do it and 15 years I finally had it done and am fixed, go figure. Call you insurance co. and ask if they can direct you to a good Dr. for your condition. If you get an accepted workers comp. claim you have more choices of Drs. and they will even intervene to get you fixed as soon as possible. Please don't give up and get aggressive if you need to you are your best advocate.
Avatar n tn on 28 april, dilated exam was ok, but after one week, i found a new shape of floters and flashes in front of my right eye in darkness, and i was examed to have tetinal tears in my left eye. on 10 may, i had the laser treatment.
Avatar n tn Even though I think all my surgeries were a success each and every surgery caused the next surgery. Physical therapists have a cold laser machine that I believe it helps muscle spasms and soft tissue. They also have a much better traction unit. If you haven't been to physical therapist in a while look for one with that cold laser or low level laser unit. To be on the lighter side gravity is our problem!
412873 tn?1329178055 Go get a drink and sit down. This is going to be long. I have seen their TV commercial and my first impression is that they're too confident about presenting positive outcomes for too many back problems. I general, treatment outcomes come with a percentage of success vs. a percentage of risk. The patient must make an informed decision as to whether the risk is worth the benefit in any medical treatment. The word "laser" means little. A laser can cut or a laser can heat.
Avatar n tn I have had this pain for almost 6 months, and it seems to continue to worsen. I have even tried steroid shots in my neck. So, they are suggesting I have surgery before any nerve damage gets worse or becomes irreversible. I was wondering if anyone with a similiar condition has had surgery and if it worked. It will be quite expensive, but I would rather be in a lot of pain then do something that is so expensive and it not work. Anyone?
Avatar n tn What are the odds, statistically of that kind of bad results? What about that laser surgery (Bonati Institute, Florida) How do I check on my doctor's records of success and faillure?
Avatar m tn Post green laser surgery, I have a persistant and recurring bladder neck stricture. I have had four follow-up surgeries to remover the scar tissue in the past year, but each time the stricture grows back. Currently, I am self-cathetering twice a day and the Urologist has recommended in-office dilation every six weeks to temporarily keep me out of the OR. This is very painfull and bloody and not a satisfactury outcome as far as I'm concerned.
Avatar n tn Hi, About 4 months ago I woke up one morning and I had some pain in my neck on my right side. Like I slept on my neck wrong or something. Over the next few days the pain got progressively worse. A week or so went by and the pain went away. So, I thought I just slept on my neck wrong or something. Well, about 2 months ago, the same thing reacurred. This time after a few days went by, I was getting up from doing something, and something happened in my neck and shoulder area.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm Eleonore. I posted a few days ago on the dermatology general forum ("do I suffer from CRP?") showing some pictures - to ask an opinion about marks I have on the inner neck since I'm 12 ( I'm 32 y.o. and mixed race female). None of the dermatologists I met so far could advise what I was suffering from and what to do, and I would really like to find a way to get rid of these marks rather than hidding them under make-up... I am not pregnant for information.
Avatar f tn She says that it is pressing on the blood vessels in my neck, and will start causing sleep apnea. I'm wondering if there are any alternatives. Will doses of iodine or desiccated thyroid cause it to shrink? My best friend is trying to send me to an alternative health practitioner, but she is of the mind that all doctors are evil and herbs will cure anything.
Avatar n tn Hi, for about a year now i have had this fizzing sound in my neck that occurs randomly, usually when i am just laying down. It doesnt occur when i am moving my head or anything, its usually just when i sitting still or laying down. It sounds like it is coming directly from the back of my neck and is starting to worry me. I also experience these weird pains in my head that come for about a second and then go and come back again every 10minutes or so.
Avatar n tn scar revision from carotid artery surgery by nancyrichards2 Leave a Note Send Message Add as Friend nancyrichards2 Member since May 2009 , 2 minutes ago I recently had carotid surgery and now for 4 months I feel like the scar on neck is choking me. It can because of spasm or scar on muscle on neck. Is there any way to revise this so I am not an emotional wreck, Ativan and to lesser extent xanax help a little. My quality of life is horrible now. .
Avatar m tn Hi, I had the same surgery for bone spurs on C5/6. It was not a painful surgery but I will say that I have more problems now then before surgery. This could just be my specific case but since the surgery, which did help aleviate my neck pain, I have had problems with my right arm tingling and my hand and some fingers going numb at times. As i said this did not happen before surgery. I suggest that you give therapy a good try and if it really doesnt help or didnt help then do the surgery.
Avatar f tn After way too many trips to Emergency Room for a Foley catheter, I had laser surgery and then cold knife surgery. Surgery alone almost never fixes a stricture permanently. What finally worked is a second cold knife surgery followed by 6 months with a temporary stent (Spanner). I took the Spanner out March 30 this year and have had NO retention problems since that date and my flow rate is above normal for my age (77) and has remained unchanged since the Spanner was removed.
Avatar n tn He has been giving me IPL laser and Pixel laser treatments as well as both red and blue light therapy for inflammation and injecting a very diluted kenelog solution into the scar tissue as this helps it break up and get thinner and softer. He is next probably going to try some Accent treatment on the jawline to help tighten it and rid the jowls that I never had prior to the "lift". I suffered every rare complication in the book from lip paralysis (it came back) to a bad seroma.
Avatar m tn I had the surgery yesterday and everything went well. I am just a bit sore and am walking around like a turtle. I did not throw up because they gave me a pach on my neck that I can wear for up to 3 days. I also got vicaden since I get sick off perks. It helps a little but makes me sleepy more thn anything. I feel like my right side hurts the most and I am definately feel uncomfortable getting in and out of bed. Thank you for all your support.
Avatar f tn But I wasn't yet fully recovered because my neck problems were extremely severe, prior to my surgery. I luckily had no throat problems or hoarseness after surgery. I was up and walking around unassisted immediately after the surgery, even going out on the hospital lawn to smoke a cigarette – which is VERY bad to do when you’ve had fusion surgery because it can prevent or delay the fusion. The next day, when I got out of the hospital, I felt well enough to fry chicken for supper.
290592 tn?1205775276 I to had c5 c 6 fusion 6 years ago august, i feel that rubber band situation your talking about on my right side, im going to see a chiropracter friday to see if it can be adjusted back into place, will let you know the resuluts, also i never had any pt on neck after surgery, had surgery, went a couple of times for check up and that was it, wondering if scar tissue could of developed and is cause this rubber band like symptoms.
Avatar f tn My question is, now that my dry eye problem has been resolved, can I think about getting laser surgery done down the road in order to get my close vision back? I've read some posts where laser surgery has been recommended in cases where the person is not happy with their vision after cataract surgery. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar n tn In these situations thyroid surgery removes the pressure in this area of the neck. Another new surgery option, if available in your area, Outpatient Laser Surgery in which patients received light sedation (i.e., Valium), and the procedure typically takes 30 minutes. This is compared to traditional surgery, which involves general anesthesia, and requires at least an hour. However, both types of surgery have the potential for nerve damage, but it's less common in the laser surgery.
Avatar n tn So I was surprised with the diagnosis of a macular hole. My doctor says the hole is very small and recommended the surgery. To read the eye chart with that eye, I could see the letters if I looked slightly to the right of the letter, so it makes sense it must be very small. With both eyes, I don't seem to have too much trouble, just with reading under low light.
