Laser surgery los angeles

Common Questions and Answers about Laser surgery los angeles

Avatar m tn cloudiness of the posterior capsule (secondary cataract) is very common and occurs in 20 to 35% of all cataract surgeries. Yag laser capsulotomy is easy, quick, painless and the risks are small (nothing doctors do to patients is risk free). I just got done doing one, it took about 45 seconds. You would need to discuss pros/cons risk/benefit with your surgeon. There is no "Best" opthalmologist there are many excellent ones. This is not a complicated procedure.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the names, one of them is already on my list. I'll just have to keep trying until someone is (a) willing or (b) able to figure out what the problem is.
Avatar m tn I had a cataract in one eye only but I chose to have cataract surgery in both my eyes. My post-surgery distance vision in the eye without the cataract is at least as good as my best-correct vision was before surgery. I've never had a problem with my IOLs.
Avatar m tn Apparently the astigmatism I had has been corrected (toric lens) but I am now slightly shortsighted (I had hoped for good vision overall). It has been suggested I could have laser surgery to correct this. My main worry is that I have what I feel is quite bad flaring from car headlights at night and also lots of circles around the lights, presume this is haloing. I see you talk about haloing and I am wondering if this has diminished/improved for you as time passes after the surgery.
Avatar n tn His team has also had a lot of success with endoscopic and laser surgery. You can send all of your stuff to him for evaluation before having to make the trip. I've seen some spectacular cases he's operated on. One guy had no discs in his neck, just one long rod! You only have one neck and that connects to your back which makes up your whole spine..... make the right decision when it comes to who you let cut it open. Another great site is GPN, Global Patient Network.

Avatar f tn Our son was diagnosed with keratoconus and fortunately we explored alternatives and have C3R (cornea collagen crosslinking with riboflavin) with Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler in Los Angeles. We flew from Tennesse to have the procedure. While we were in the office, I spoke with many of the other patients who had flown in to see Dr. Boxer Wachler. Many of them had a cornea transplant in one eye and were there to prevent having a transplant in the other. While there they learned Dr.
Avatar n tn And would like to know where could I get the 7-methylxanthine (7-MX) in Los Angeles, California US. Please provide the contact or doctor name in Los Angeles. If not available in Los Angeles, please provide other contact. Many thanks.
Avatar n tn I thought I would write you about my own experience with LUTS (lower urinary tract symptoms) in the hope that my experience will help. I am currently 56 years old, in general good health, live in Los Angeles CA, and have undergone several surgeries at UCLA Medical Center. I first experienced urinary retention at age 45, when extreme bladder pain sent me to my first urologist. After an ultrasound, he discovered that I was retaining and cathed me for the first time. Traumatising!
190132 tn?1215010758 PLEASE HELP, in Los Angeles, saw doctors from St. Johns, to UCLA to Cedar Sinai. Just can't find the right physician to cure. I cough for about 1 hour straight through out the day and night EXCEPT when I am lying down. I cough when I eat, drink or doing absolutely nothing I'll have a coughing fit as long as I am up right. Twisted / Deviated Septum was finally discovered last year after years of testing i.
Avatar n tn We were told there are two options, one is laser surgery which poses risks and the other I am sorry do not remember the name, but it is less invasive and they shoot tiny pulses of light into the eye which I believe is the least likley to cause damage comparing to a laser. But there website is if you want to check them out. they are top in there field and are currently doing studies on CSR. Oh yeah stress is a major factor.
Avatar f tn The other uses NanoFlex, and I can't remember if that was considered premo or not. Since I live in Los Angeles, there are lots of choices.
Avatar f tn Thank you for responding! BCP sounds good. I will ask him for his thoughts on that. I live in Los Angeles, California. I've been looking for an endometriosis specialist around the area to give me a second opinion, but I haven't been able to find one. If I see a specialist outside my medical group, I would have to shoulder all the cost so I really want to make sure that the one I go to is legit. Do you happen to know a good one in my area? At this point, I'm not hoping for a miracle.

Avatar m tn I'm in the Los Angeles area. According to the registration card,my first lens was -12 (myopia, presbyopia and less than 1 diopter of astig). It has been 48 hours since cataract surgery and I can already use my 13" laptop comfortably at any location between 10 - 16". My vision isn't completely settled yet. I think the UHD screen is helping with its high contrast. I have slightly less reading range with paper documents.
Avatar m tn I am SO Sorry that I ever had cataract surgery. My distance vision is great, but I can't even see a computer screen w/o glasses to chart. It also left me with severe dry eye syndrome. My eyes tear up so bad that I can't even focus. I've been using eye drops but it's been 4 months!! Also when I focus on the computer screen I see black crescents (like my hair is hanging in my eyes) on the outside of my eyes. My doctor says he's never heard of that...REALLY??
Avatar n tn ORA intraoperative measurements to validate IOL power is one of those as is femtosecond laser. No studies have shown that femtosecond laser and ORA contribute to a better, safer surgery. More expensive for sure and does significantly improve the miniscule profit/case over what medicare pays. Medicare and insurance pay aboout 50% less now for cataract/IOL surgery than was paid in 1980's when you factor in inflation it's probably more like 1/3.
Avatar n tn As said in my earlier post I started having pain(heat) on my left testicle veins and also slight pain on the left side of my stomach. 2. An urologist from Los Angeles told me that it could be hernia. He asked me to say No to alcohol, smoking, coffee, tea and spicy foods. 3. I stopped all the above, have only coffee, tea weekly once. I started eating apples and other fruits which helped me relieve the pain on the side of my stomach. 4. Still i cannot run and cannot sleep on my left.
Avatar n tn I didn't realize this was not the norm....I am 48 yrs old and my surgery was done at Kaiser Hosp. in Los Angeles. 90% of my day I do not use any glasses. My vision about 20/500 before surgery, and couldn't function without glasses extreme myopia. After surgery I was about 20/40 at 6 weeks, and now can see 20/30 and the last surgery was performed in June of this year. Recovery was very easy. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn In fact, the only piece of remotely helpful information you offered was about laser surgery, but you didn't even take the time to explain anything about it. You're lucky I am a strong person that has come to terms with myself, because comments like yours could cause someone to stop searching for answers and lock themselves into an unhealthy sheltered life. So please, don't get complacement, and remember that the people your replying to are real people coming to you for real help.
2134929 tn?1338264264 I now go to the best dermatologist for Vitiligo in the country, Dr. Pearl Grimes in Los Angeles. She recommended I try laser treatment and referred me to a guy in LA. I had a consult with him and he said its 100% safe and the only downside is that it may not work. So, i'm going in next week to give it a shot. I'm nervous about doing anything down there but I figured that since i'm still suffering after all this time that I really have nothing to lose.
Avatar n tn I live in the San Fernando / Los Angeles Area. I am trying to find out where I can get the hcG. Can anyone help me?
Avatar n tn Recently I was in Los Angeles for about two months. There also I was told that by-pass is not advisable but treatment like PMR and Angeogenesis may provide me great help. Now I have (1) frequent Angina Pectorisis on slight exertion (2) very little effort tolerance (3) a permanent type pain in about 4 regions around heart(4) I can not walk after taking meal . Due to this I donot take meal for wole day and take only liquids and I mostly take night meals after which I avoid any movement.
233488 tn?1310696703 when the Xiidra first refill discount cards and samples are exhausted the patients have found it way too expensive. New treatments also include pulsed laser to the surface of the eyelids and heat/compression to the eyelids I do not have much experience with these but patients treated elsewhere have told me they are quite expensive and may or may not prove helpful.
Avatar f tn I have been told to wait until I was done having children before getting this surgery done. I'll let you know how all goes. The surgery is planned for later this month. Good luck to you all. That nutsack comment cracks me up, Cause it's true.
163305 tn?1333672171 Unfortunately hes NOT my Dr....but I wish he was! Comes highly recommended if your in the Los Angeles area. Jeffrey A. Kahn, MD Keck Hospital of USC 1500 San Pablo St.
Avatar f tn I am now 38 and am pretty upset, as I just had a consult with a joint replacement specialist here in Los Angeles who said that I am not a candidate for hip resurfacing surgery due to the severe deformities of my hips. I wish to remain as active as possible throughout my life, and I worry about traditional hip replacements limiting my physical activities.
Avatar n tn Growing up my sugar was always out of control but I was very healthy. Doctors could not understand. I had laser surgery back in 1991 for rethinopathy and my eyes are doing very well. Now, I'm ok but I was just diagnosed with celiac disease and gerd. So it's hard to find things to eat. No wheat, barley, pastas, caffeine, sugar fried and acidic foods. I also suffer of arthritis. But I still feel blessed by God.
