412873 tn?1329174455 Has anyone on this forum been treated by the Laser Spine Institute in Tampa for spinal stenosis? My father is scheduled for a procedure there and I have some concerns about the center based on the way they have treated him so far.
Avatar f tn I did everything and even went to Laser Spine Institute for relief. I had surgery on my neck and lower back in July. I still have pain and have pain in my two fingers. 395684 tn?1215997724 However, recently I have moved to Tampa Florida and the Hotel/Condo I have been staying at for over 1 1/2 months is 1/4 mile from Laser Spine Institute located at Rocky Point in Tampa Florida. It is a well-recognized facility. I have gotten into lenghty conversations with residents while at the Pool and I am told Laser Spine Institute is the "BEST" in the US.
Avatar m tn That may give you some idea of what we are talking about. In Tampa, if a surgeon is using the Alcon LensX laser to do the cataract surgery, they charge from 3000 to 4000 per eye!!!! There's no doubt the public is getting ripped in this process of "multi focal" lens. Trust me, there IS a form of price fixing, ALMOST every doctor is HIGH. They see it as a great way to make a lot of money quick because quite simply, what is your alternative?
Avatar f tn they may not have been aware of them b4 having the surgery and assume it is a failed surgery....so u can not look to others....only make sure u r checked for ALL related conditions b4 surgery so u will know how u need to be treated and what is going on with u. We do have a list of Drs the members here have been to and liked, that said the list is not a referral or endorsement, u do need to research ALL the Drs and see a few to find one u r comfortable with.
Avatar f tn There is one private clinic that does femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery. The other one does not, but it is much more convenient. When I asked my RS about the femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, he basically said that it is the skill of the surgeon that counts in either way of doing cataract surgery. He admitted that it probably is the wave of the future.
Avatar n tn I had a multifocal lens implant following cataract surgery a year and a half ago. After yag laser, ointments, drops, pills and prk, I still have severe ghosting, halos and glare. What I want to know is if I have surgery to replace the multifocal with a monofocal, is there a risk of retinal detachment and do you know of a good doctor in Maryland that could do this surgery?
2118160 tn?1334705452 The Bonati Institute in Tampa Florida! It is a really great place; I was logging on tonight to tell you all my surgery is tomorrow. I feel like you guys have been along for the whole ride since I got in my car accident. I am having an L4-L5 decompression to alleviate this pain that has happened both due to age and the crash. I am so excited - the incision is only a couple of inches and the recovery is next to nothing. I feel very fortunate to be able to avoid a fusion.
Avatar f tn Hi ValveJob, just wanted to comment on your potential cataract surgery. As a fellow myope who's axial lengths are also over 30mm, I've read a lot about the difficulty of cataract surgery for patients like us. I can't remember if I've commented before on this, but wanted to make sure you are aware of the option in cataract surgery between 'traditional' methods of cataract extraction and the 'laser' method.

Avatar n tn My father is 73 and had a lasik and cataract surgery and then he had his eye lids lifted, but still his eyes shut and he can't open them until he the muscle relaxes and react to the motion of opening up. He has seen doctors in Miami, Alabama and S. Carolina and he has been told the what he has is eye spasm. The only treatment that he has been given for that is botox injections. My question is, is there a cure or therapy or surgery to correct that?
Avatar n tn Can you still have your prostate remove via Da Vinci surgery? Both the TURP and GreenLight Laser Surgeries remove a portion of the bladder. Can the doctor reattach the urethra on the penis side to the portion of the bladder that remained after the prostate surgery previously performed. I hope you can follow what I am say here. Does the previous prostate surgery complicate the task of reattaching the urethra?
Avatar m tn the forums and websites that i have visited relates highly to surgery with low levels of sucess. also, i found the laser spine institute information (LSI) regarding spinal surgery procedures. their site indicates a high level of surgery sucesses compared to the traditional surgerical procedures. obviously, i would prefer to find a way other than surgery at this point and i am looking for recommendations. also, i have been going to pt therapy for 4 weeks with levelsof improvement.

Avatar f tn Do you know of any neuropthamoligists in the central Florida area? I have had cataract surgery, YAG laser, ptosis surgery, punctal plugs (I think they have come out) tried Restasis briefly, all kinds of sunglasses & anti-reflective lenses, some days I can hardly walk around house. My regular dr. is ordering tests for autoimmune diseases. All my eye Dr. would say is dry eye. I will find new eye dr. as soon as tests come back. I have good vision except for light problems.

Avatar f tn I have sent many questions to you over the last few months. I really appreciate your input. My condition is continuing to deteriorate rapidly and recently had an LPI in my right eye which is the one without all the previous surgeries and complications. I have been told due to pigmentary glaucoma after I already had angle closure that I need Trabulectomys in both eyes. Is laser Trabuloplasty as effective or is Trabulectomy more effective?
Avatar f tn a trial of non-invasive techniques like steroid injection, laser ablation etc. or minimal invasive surgery may be preferred if possible, over surgical excision. I would suggest discussing the possibility with your orthopedician before deciding on a management plan. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn I then had a procedure called vertebroplasty and have been in worse pain than I was before. DO NOT HAVE BACK SURGERY!!! Bulging dics can be corrected through laser surgery and there is no cutting through muscle. Check out Laser Spine Institute. Just google them and check out their site. I have all the conditions that you have and I take Oxycodone 10/325 mg. 5 a day.

Avatar n tn I have taken pain killers daily and also went to get my final eye examination following laser surgery. I expressed my concern but the outcome was of a positive nature, slight change since laser surgery but nothing to be concerned about. This was three weeks ago.I have since visited my gp as the headaches have not eased, mainly the left temple with pressure behing the eye, also a dilated left pupil at times with distorted vision.i await blood reults and have been put on propranalol.
251991 tn?1239296030 I just returned from the Laser Spine Intitute in Tampa Bay Fl. They do arthoscopic laser spine surgery. In addition to freeing up my nerves from stenosis on the lower right lumber level 4and5, they did a Facet Thermal Ablation. In plain words they went into the facet joint on both sides a "killed" the nerve and eliminating the pain. Its genuine and it works. I can now sleep pain free. I can't say enough about it.
