Avatar f tn I had RK about 30 years ago and Lasik 15 years ago. I am now 72 and have been told I have moderate cataracts; right eye worse. I can function relatively well; have had glasses now for years. I have records before/post Lasik. I have consulted two ophthalmologists; neither wants to consult records. When I expressed concern about selecting IOL, the first discounted my questions and the second said, "Don't overthink the problem; I would suggest making the IOL about 1 diopter myopic.

Avatar f tn I am also in Houston Texas. I had my decompression surgery 3 months ago and although my neurosurgeon has great credentials I do wish I went with a specialist. Definitely do not settle for just anyone and if you so happen to find one within Houston please let me know. I'm currently trying to find one as well.
1467525 tn?1286414315 t think he would let you walk out without a solution, especially if your daughter is in OBVIOUS pain. After some crap neurologists in the Houston area I almost wanted to give up, so I went straight for a neurosurgeon and now I can honestly say that when I do have my surgery, I trust Peter Yeh with my skull + brain 110%. (: Was the one you saw at Texas Childrens?! the chiari specialist? I can't remember his name ... but my mom wants me to go see him.
Avatar m tn Has anyone been to the Houston eye center or know of a good ophthalmologists in the area or the east valley?? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn t give you a specific name for a doctor, but if I were in your shoes I would head to The Texas Heart Institute in Houston. They are known all over the world. I know when my daughter had her first ablation for WPW, they were the ONLY place in the world doing electrical surgery on the heart. They were amazing!
Avatar m tn t tell you a specific name, but if you are in SW Lousiana, you are close to Houston, and that is one of the greatest heart treatment centers in the world. I had valve surgery there. I did have a cardiologist who did my presurgical cath and who followed me postsurgically in the hospital, and I would go back to him anytime. He is extremely well regarded and is the head of a large, high-profile cardiology group.
Avatar f tn About 2 weeks ago i received a Avastin injection in my right eye for the treatment,This is my second flair up of histo in this eye 11 yrs ago i had laser surgery on this eye to stop the bleeding. Avatar f tn No questins here. I just had Laser surgery yesterday, performed by Dr. Vosoghi. I have been in his care for approximately one month and could not be more impressed. Demeanor is professional, chairsidemanner so kind, highly educated and knowledgable, and I do not think I could be in beter hands. If you need a specialist, and you are within traveling distance of his offices, I highly recommend him.
Avatar n tn he will be able to reduce it to normal by laser. i would like to know how much could be the success chance in my case and does the laser have major side effects?

Yes, I'm exhausted and head and neck hurts, but not as much as I had thought. Lots of naps and short walks to get my strength back up. Down to half the prescribed pain meds. My most noticeable improvement is the ability to really breathe ,,, big lungfuls of air. Feels great.
Avatar n tn I have had two episodes of bleeding behind the retina since having laser surgery for catarac removal with lens? and is it dangerous?
Avatar m tn I am in my late 20's and have cataract on my right eye and traces of cataract on left eye. A little background is that my opthamaligist is reputable according to his background and experience. The reason I am asking for this referral is because I am seeking a second opinion. Since my consultation went by rather quickly and the MD seem to think there are much more risk to use Crystalens due to my age and the cataract I have. So he would recommend the Monofocal IOL.
Avatar f tn I am developing cataracts in that eye and I want to have a multifocal IOL replacement when I have cataract surgery. I would like a surgeon that has a track record with operating in someone with only one eye and I don’t know how to find out if a doctor has that expertise. I live near Houston TX, but with travel to find a doctor with this experience.

Avatar n tn My question is, as I am so shortsighted, is it OK to have the Laser Cataract Surgery? I ask this because the Laser Cataract Surgery is said to be less traumatic to the eye. I wonder if Dr John C Hagan III could answer this question, as I know his son also works in his practice and he is a retinal expert? Also do you fit the New nanoflex IOL?
