Avatar n tn On my first visit there I had a consultation with a lady that does the laser treatments in the spa. Avatar n tn I had surgery performed on my face to put bones back in place that had been broken during a club fight. The doctor assured me there would be no perminent damage or brusing. Now almost 8 months later i have what looks like a perminent black eye. They repared the fractured bone right under my eye. It feels like it healed smoothly but the bruising wont go away. The insition was made in my mouth under the lip. could that be the cause for the bruising.
Avatar n tn There are many products in the market that claim to remove scars that decrease inflammation and minimize pigmentation. . However, there are not enough studies to show their complete removal. There are many factors to consider such as the type of scar, location, depth, width, age and your medical history. It is best that you have this checked by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist for proper evaluation. Scar revision through surgery and laser treatments may be indicated.

Avatar m tn Genitalia have thin skin and hence steroid induced atrophy can be more pronounced. For such atrophy, apart from plastic surgery, laser resurfacing is also helpful. They can be safely and effectively resurfaced through the proper use of a high-energy, pulsed or scanned carbon dioxide (CO2) or Erbium-Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet (Er:YAG) laser. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Research suggests the best way would be with a bleaching agent much in the same way anal/vaginal bleaching is approached.

Avatar n tn (excuse the unfortunate pun) With treatment options varying from antiviral treatments for herpes to laser/Cryotherapy (freezing) for milia and laser/surgery for fordyce spots. Avatar m tn So, i should consult a dermatology in my area? is there any side effect after the surgery? will it comes back? Please advice. thanks!
Avatar m tn The treatment methods employed are cryotherapy with carbon dioxide (dry ice) or liquid nitrogen, electrodesiccation, electrodesiccation and curettage, curettage alone, shave biopsy or excision using a scalpel, or a laser or dermabrasion surgery. Sometimes keratolytic agents can also be applied but they are temporary treatments. For confirming the diagnosis, I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn Would you recommend undergoing laser surgery, excision or something else? Is it better to wait till she is older? Till now we have just dealt with the Family Dr., Should we see someone else? Avatar f tn Hello, I'm Eleonore. I posted a few days ago on the dermatology general forum ("do I suffer from CRP?") showing some pictures - to ask an opinion about marks I have on the inner neck since I'm 12 ( I'm 32 y.o. and mixed race female). None of the dermatologists I met so far could advise what I was suffering from and what to do, and I would really like to find a way to get rid of these marks rather than hidding them under make-up... I am not pregnant for information.
Avatar f tn What would cause it to be sore and can it be removed? Would it be considered cosmetic surgery? What type of doctor would I need to see to have it removed or evaluated?
Avatar f tn I have MCV too in my Genital area and its ruining my life
Avatar n tn hi, I had surgery about a year ago for a pilonidal cyst. Everything apparently went fine, but suddenly about some 6 months now , even though in the beginning the wound closed by itself naturally it reopened again and I've been like this for about this time (6 months as I said). I cannot do anything because anything I do just hurts me. I can't play sports like I used to, I can't sit well without making it hurt.
Avatar n tn Just a general FYI to anyone interested in this subject. I had Co2 laser surgery done twice (once in 1996, and again in 1997). I was not happy with the results. My dermatologist did a free service b/c of my disatisfaction w/the CO2 surgery. She inserted a few little tiny synthetic pieces into my face, that was supposed to be equal to "permanent" collagen (sp?) injections.
Avatar f tn Also certain specialities like neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery are sued much more than FP and dermatology.) 3. Do your homework. If it were me I would have a monofocal aspheric like the Tecnis put in. Since most myopes are use to seeing at near without glasses (I'm one of them) I would opt for mini-monofocal with near bias.
Avatar m tn They do not hurt but if I cut them they will bleed for ages. I have had laser surgery on them to reduce the redness but recently I have noticed some redness returning. I received a response suggesting that it might be: Adenoma sebaceum. Which does look similar to what I have. However I am concerned now as this seems to be linked to a rare disease called Tuberous Sclerosis which occurs with other side effects including benign tumours in either the brain, lungs, kidneys etc.
Avatar n tn ive researched co2 laser surgery. it sounds like my problem sounds exactly like papules. how long does this treatment take, how much pain, and how long does it take to heal? youve been really helpful , thank u.
Avatar f tn “Bacteria push their way in, causing more chapping,” says dermatologist David Bank, of the Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic, and Laser Surgery in Mount Kisco, New York. Spread on a balm enhanced with antioxidants, like cranberries, to boost softness…and make sure it contains SPF. “Because your lips don’t have much melanin, they’re extremely susceptible to sun damage, even in winter,” stresses Dr. Bank. Pop the balm in your bag so you won’t lick your lips to moisten them later.

Avatar m tn I finally got a dermatology appointment in Jan 2011. The dermatologist started me off with Fluticasone (Cutivate) 0.005% to use 2 weeks on with one week off for 6 weeks. It feels good when applied for the first 30 min. to 1 hour but they would just dry and crust again when I don't use retail lip balms like vaseline or aquaphor after applying it. I went to my second appointment and had a lip biopsy.
Avatar n tn So do I leave her with these ugly marks all over her or get her laser surgery and have scars from that. I don't know what to do.
