Avatar n tn Thank you for your comments about the laser and brown spots in my cheeks, but i have a question now, i've had the laser 3 times and my spots are getting darker is this normal?. after the procedure ( make for a certified doctor) my skin gets red and then dark for some days ( is like burned skin), and after 4 or 5 days this burned skin is gone but the brown spots still there but darkers. should i stop the laser treatment or keep going for more?. Thank you.
Avatar f tn The risk of RD in your fellow is probably very close to the 2 to 5% your surgeon quoted you. Optimistically that means 95-98% of NOT having RD. Light, dark spots, floaters post laser are frequently reported here. use the search feature and read the many posts from about about their experience post laser to retina.
Avatar m tn She is 20 years of age and have been told to go through laser surgery if she sees black spots in front of her eyes. Various precautions like avoiding cold &cough, avoiding motion have been told to her. Please tell what are the options to correct for weak spots in the retina and can she go for a laser surgery right now.
Avatar n tn Hi Recently I have been waking up with more and more tiny smooth red spots on my cheeks by my nose and some on my forehead. They are smooth and are not acne but don't itch or anything either. Could it be from my face wash or switching birth controls? Or maybe from dry winter skin? Help it seems to get worse every day!
Avatar n tn They can occur almost anywhere on the body but usually develop on the trunk. They are most common after age 40. The cause is unknown. Although painless and harmless, cherry angiomas may bleed profusely if injured. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherry_angioma Cherry angiomas generally do not need to be treated. If they are cosmetically displeasing or prone to bleeding, angiomas may be removed by surgery, freezing (cryotherapy ), burning (electrosurgery/cautery), or laser.
Avatar n tn As far as I remember I have had red spots on my skin. Most of them are very tiny while others are bigger. Three weeks ago I discovered an infection of insects (pubic lice or crabs) all over my body. I followed all the steps prescribed by the doctor, hair shaving among them. Since then, I have been checking my skin everyday and I have noticed that the number of red spots is increasing (on trunk especially).
Avatar f tn I have to admit that my concerns come from having one thing after the next, and possibly causing more future issues because of another intervention or surgery of sorts? How much can the eye take, and at what point is more surgery making it worse, or not worth the added risks? What is the recovery time from this procedure? At what point, if I go ahead with this surgery as scheduled, do I know that this has been successful?
Avatar m tn I was hoping you would be able to tell me first, what you believe this particular condition to be (the white spots), second, if you believe that they will ever go away and my skin will even out, and third, how I can expedite the process if I have a chance of them going away? I know that laser surgery and some topical retinoid creams would help the discoloration, correct?

Avatar n tn Hi, I have weak spots in Retina and it require periodic checks (every 1 year). My age is 30 years. Please let me know whether Lutein will be helpful for Retina weak spots.
Avatar n tn For the coronal papillae, I received a treatment of liquid nitrogen, and with this, this condition didnt disappear completely, declined both in size and which are almost imperceptible. For Fordyce spots, I read that with a CO2 laser can be eliminated, because I have an appointment with a dermatologist for consultation. I wanted to share with you this.
Avatar n tn I have had surgery on the boils 4 times this last time I had surgery on the boil was when I was about 4 onths pregant with my son. They told me if I didnt have the surgery it would harm my baby. The dr also told me that it would never come back. My son will be 2 years old in Oct. and I am suffering with a boil right now. I cant remember how many times Ive had them drained. I always get them in my buttocks never anywhere else. Ive done all the home remides that can be done.
233488 tn?1310696703 Quite some time back a survey was taken of retina surgeons about letting their patients return to full activities after retinal detachment surgery (much more extensive than what your husband had). Almost all retina surgeons allowed full activity after a variable period of time (with the more extensive surgery generally several months).
Avatar n tn Last week my sister started having black spots/shadowing in her left eye and was diagnosed with a torn retina. She had surgery the next day, scleral buckle to repair the tear. The doctor was and has been very optomistic that she will have a full recovery as the tear did not involve the the macula. It has now been over a week and she is still having the same black spots/shadowing in the eye, with one extra small spot. It did get somewhat better but it never went away.
233488 tn?1310696703 (the risks are much, much less now than say 10-15 years ago due to better techniques). Because of your age (young) your will in all likelihood need cataract surgery sometime. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I had spinal fusion on my L5 5 weeks ago, and i am now hurting now more then i ever did before surgery. My Doc said he had the surgery and was back to work in 2 weeks. At 2weeks for me i was hurting so bad i thought i had messed up my fusion. So i went to see my my doc and had an xray and was told it was fine. He gave me a RX and said it was my last one. So i have had nothing for pain since 3 weeks after surgery.
Avatar f tn I'm hoping for this rather than another tear. And if I was unfortunate to get another tear could it be treated by laser rather than eye surgery again?
Avatar m tn I had a cataract in one eye only but I chose to have cataract surgery in both my eyes. My post-surgery distance vision in the eye without the cataract is at least as good as my best-correct vision was before surgery. I've never had a problem with my IOLs.
Avatar n tn My results were instant. Had the surgery done at age 43. Hope to be able to get surgery done on bulging disc c6/c7 at some point. Anyone wanting more info about my experience just let me know.
Avatar n tn What is a good age to get the surgery? I really think the doctor should consider coming to the US. The laser treatment getting the patent sounds interesting too. I have a science background so it is not too scientific for me. The laser is aimed to treat only the pigmented part of the sclera. Like any other laser treatment the pigmented cells will absorb the beam. The good thing about this treatment is that it could be tested on a small area first and its not as invasive as the surgery.
Avatar m tn You need to have surgery. I have had macular pucker surgery (in addition to other surgery starting with a retinal detachment) for a vision of 20/200 My vision has recovered to about 20/20 with some distortion. 20/200 is legally blind. Get this eye fixed. I have seen patient who have not a surgery in one eye for a correctable problem and years later they develop a problem in the one remaining eye that can not be fixed. At the time is was too late to fix the problem in the first eye. Dr.
Avatar n tn Hello: Fellow Retina Detachments I am in my 2nd month after surgery for a detached retina. I had 2 major surgeries, the first one was after a failed in-office Laser procedure. In the first surgery I got a Scleral Buckle & Vitrectomy with a gas bubble. Because there was a lot of scar tissue I required a second surgery and received the Silicon Oil in place of the gas bubble. The issue for me is the amount of vision that can be expected after this procedure.
Avatar m tn i had retinal spots, i gone through laser treatment and clear them 3 years ago. now my eyes are healthy. can i go for lasik treatment? my age is 22 and my vision is -10.00 and -16.00.
Avatar m tn What TYPE of laser is most effective in removing these spots?! Is there anything new? Also, could vitamin K supplements help fade them? Thanks for answers.
Avatar n tn The only treatment is removal by surgery with/without skin grafting (depending on the size of the lesion) or use of laser (CO2 Laser). I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn A dermatologist who removes age spots with lasers could counsel you, prescribe topical creams as a trial, and follow up with laser if they don't work. I think there's a reasonable chance of success with one mode or the other. Best. Dr.
Avatar n tn At the age of 27 I was diagnosed with fordyce granuales. I was told that I could have laser surgery to have them removed. I am kind of interested in doing that, but I was curious of the side affects if any and if Iwere to do that would they come back?
Avatar n tn Really it helps me a lot. From your reply I got that these spots are not any deasese and it will not affect me. Is these spots will create any problem in my SEX life?? Can I permanently remove this spot without surgery... ???? Bcoz in future if my girl friend thinks somthing different...... So plz help me.. Thanks and regards....
