(Most of my reading online was from relatively dated material) I have been taking Accutane for approximately one month and have so far not seen any favorable results. Avatar m tn Hi there, Any acne medication takes time to act and it is important to stick to particular regime for significant improvement. You should wash your face with a nonirritating, pH-balanced cleanser to decrease inflammation. Avoid scrubbing the face. Do not pop or pick at pimples. A correct nutritional balance and skin care will be helpful. Drink plenty of water every day. Take 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamin A, zinc and rich in multivitamins.
Avatar n tn I'm a 22 year old male still battling acne. I have tried everything under the sun to no avail (including 2 high dose tane courses). My mother is from Korea and the big thing over there is electrothermolysis of the sebaceous glands. I have researched it to death, unfortunately all of the data is in Korean, so I have nothing to refer you to. The procedure involves a specially designed needle inserted into each pore that permanently destroys the sebaceous gland with an electrical current.
Avatar f tn I have uneven patches on my face; some parts are dark brown then the others. I also have acne scars on my face as well. What's a good cream for this? By the way, I have very sensitive skin. If a product doesn't match up to my skin properly, my skin turns red. Write back ASAP. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hello, It is better to get the dermaroller done first and then go in for laser treatment of telangiectasia. Telangiectasias on the face are often treated with laser. My sincere advice is to consult a cosmetologist and discuss this with him. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.

My guess is that you've passed the puberty stage so it's probably something you've done differently in your routine. Simple is usually the best. Don't overload your skin with too many treatments or products. Cleanse once in the morning and once at night. Eat a balanced diet and avoid too many oily or sugary foods.

Avatar f tn I need some advice on how to deal with my 13 year old daughter's skin. A year or so ago she was getting a lot of pimples. We purchased a regular acne care cleanser and she began using it once a day. It made her skin very dry and flaky, so we switched to a "sensitive skin" acne cleanser. We assumed that the BP in most acne cleansers was just drying her sking too much. She began using the sensitive skin acne cleanser twice a day. She does NOT use a moisturizer.
Avatar n tn There is no miracle cure for acne. Cortisone shots reduce inflammation and allergic symptoms but can actually induce acne. The drug considered the "gold standard" treatment for acne is Accutane (oral Isotretinoin). This is a power drug for people with severe acne which has not responded to standard treatments.
Avatar f tn Hello, Treatment for such acne like bumps includes topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist. Till then follow the treatment that has been prescribed to you and use Accutane only under medical guidance.
