Avatar n tn If so, there are a number of treatments available. One very popular remedy has been laser skin resurfacing which helps to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, scars, lines and hyper pigmentation surrounding the eyes and mouth. It can also be used to treat areas on the cheeks. Laser resurfacing does not cause as much discomfort, bruising, scaring or bleeding compared to other cosmetic surgery procedures.

Avatar n tn I have used TCA, glycolic peels, hydroquinone, tretioin, kojic, bit nothing has reduced it. Recently i heard that yag laser can be used for depigmenting skin by destroying melanin cells itself, and in a way cause hypopigmentation in these regions. Can I do this. Please advice the type of laser, etc.

Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it might be due to chloasma of pregnancy. It is a tan or dark facial skin discoloration. Although it can affect anyone, melasma is particularly common in women, especially pregnant women and those who are taking oral or patch contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The treatment includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment.
Avatar n tn As for laser therapy, this may be of use also but look for a dermatologist with a good experience in terms of performing laser procedures. Laser therapy may burn skin and cause discolorations also. Bleaching creams may be used also but with close supervision as this may be abrasive.
Avatar f tn s looks like my chin is bleached. Will my natural brown skin color come back? How long will it take for me to recover from this? Is this permanent? I'm worried and scared. It's horrible. Is there a different product I could use to even out skin? I need help. ASAP. Thanks.

Avatar n tn It sounds like you might have some hemosiderin staining--i.e., your skin has been stained by your blood. I had that problem following eye surgery. In some cases, this type of staining can be permanent--but don't worry, I have a solution for you. Google "candela laser" to find the company's website. You'll find a small-scale study in which the AlexTriVantage laser successfully removed "permanent" hemosiderin stains.
Avatar f tn I do also have dark thin line which look like a mustache due to skin pigmentation (i think). When i spread the skin it do not appears but otherwise it looks really awkward. I have used some skin lightening creams but it did not help. How can i get it better. What are the treatments available? Is there any cosmetic or laser treatments are available? This discussion is related to dark skin.
Avatar f tn But when the same laser is also absorbed by the melanin in the skin, it turns the surrounding skin darker. (They place the laser right on the skin to get the hair, so I have no idea how they can claim the skin woykd not be affected.) Of course, you sign a waiver before doing it, so all of this is just hindsight talking.
Avatar m tnLaser treatment to Cherry Angiomas immediately. We use a long pulsed Nd:Yag laser for this and I would anticipate removal of these in one session with no real issues. Commence Obagi Nu-Derm immediately for the reduction in hyperpigmented areas. The system is a combination treatment of 4% Hydroquinone and tretinoin and should be used for a minimum of 6-12 months. As we discussed, this will cause initial redness and flaking, as both active ingredients are irritating to the skin.
Avatar n tn Hello, There are 5 types of laser hair removal systems. These include pulsed light, Nd YAG laser, diode laser. Alexanderite laser and ruby laser. This depends on the skin type and varies from patient to patient. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist for the skin type and then depending on that, laser hair removal can be decided.
Avatar n tn ve seen different therapies available, but I am not sure which one I should be looking for (i.e. IPL / Fraxel Laser... There were other laser types but I am not sure.) Different places have different treatments and I just wanted to have a better idea what might remove this single flat mole, and cause minimal to no discoloration if removed. Please guide me to the direction and type of professional I should look for.

Avatar m tn Hello, It is better to get the dermaroller done first and then go in for laser treatment of telangiectasia. Telangiectasias on the face are often treated with laser. My sincere advice is to consult a cosmetologist and discuss this with him. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar m tn Hello, The Vbeam produces a laser light that can be absorbed by the red pigment in the skin. The Vbeam laser works in combination with the Cool Touch laser and with a substance called Levulan. While the Vbeam laser removes red from acne scar tissue, the Cool Touch laser tightens the skin from the inside out. But this requires more than two sittings to take effect. So you should follow up with your cosmetologist and get it done in multiple sittings.
Avatar f tn I have a solution for you. I think that your problem is hemosiderin staining--your skin has been stained by your blood. I had the same problem from a black eye I got from having eye surgery. Try googling "hemosiderin staining candela laser" to locate a small study showing that an AlexTriVantage laser can remove this type of discoloration. I used the doctor locator feature on the website to find a dermatologist in my area.
Avatar m tn s a 8 hour drive to get to Hermosillo I just wanted people to know that babies are dying in Mexico and especial in a plce were torisit come to isit so much my7 baby would hav still be alve if I would have had money I waitted 15 years and a half to get pregnant i could'nt get pregnant it took all this time for nothing.
Avatar m tn You could also try laser hair removal. It's expensive and a bit painful, but it would significantly reduce the amount of hair permanently. It works best for people with darker hair and lighter skin since the laser looks for the color contrast. If you do laser hair removal, you'll probably use a lidocaine cream 30 minutes before the treatment. It basically feels like a rubber band snapping on your skin. Laser hair removal requires several treatments to work.
