Avatar n tn Around 8 years ago I noticed that I was starting to get dark spots on the left side of my face most prominently near my mouth. Throughout the years these spots kept multiplying and getting darker and again this is only on one side of my face. My dermatologist told me this was an actual condition where hyper pigmentation occurs only on one side of the body. Note that I was only 12 years old when I stated noticing this.
Avatar n tn As for laser therapy, this may be of use also but look for a dermatologist with a good experience in terms of performing laser procedures. Laser therapy may burn skin and cause discolorations also. Bleaching creams may be used also but with close supervision as this may be abrasive.

4330487 tn?1352904949 m not qualified to give you a range of credible alternatives. But what does come to mind is laser hair removal. Those with light skin and dark hair are the best candidates for laser hair removal. I have PCOS, too, but I am the opposite...almost hairless. But, in the ways many women would like permanent hair removal, I do too. But since I have very fair skin and blond hair, I'm not a candidate for laser hair removal. Although expensive, that would be a permanent solution.
Avatar m tn //www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8204478); could a Q-switched ruby laser target the darkened raphe line (and leave it looking as though no/little surgery has taken place there)? In anticipation of the expected objections: I know that every man has this line and it's natural. I know from my own experience that women don't really care about it. This is about changing something for myself, "If you're not happy with something, change it".
Avatar f tn saliva) I have tried plenty of cremes and lip balm over the years - it has only given me relief of chapped skin but the color is still the same and it is very noticeable. I have yet to try any bleaching cremes since I'm nervous of the results. My question is weather I should try using a type of bleaching creme or not. Also is there any other products or procedures out there that may help.

Avatar f tn It's been about 4 weeks now since I have been using Xtreme Brite. It's a cream to clear away black spots. The black spots have been left after the pimples and I been trying to get rid of them. This Xtreme Brite cream is like a bleaching cream and now it's making my whole chin peeling and it's looks like my chin is bleached. Will my natural brown skin color come back? How long will it take for me to recover from this? Is this permanent? I'm worried and scared.

Avatar n tn I have cataracts, but so far have been able to live with them, hoping a new non surgical treatment will come available. Last year I read about using femtosecond laser cataract bleaching. Supposedly they were able to successfully remove the protein. http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0009711 Has anyone heard about any updates on the progress of this or other non surgical treatments.
Avatar f tn At first i was using a product called Ambi and Crusaders soap and face cream that are skin bleaching creams. They both work well, but they lighten up my entire face rather than just evening my skin tone so now my face is visibly lighter than the rest of my body. I am looking into purchasing a product called Mederma and i wanted to see what you think about this product.
Avatar m tn Research suggests the best way would be with a bleaching agent much in the same way anal/vaginal bleaching is approached. Hydroquinone appears to be too dangerous; would kojic acid be better? I've heard that a TCA peel can work. I would apply the lightening agent using a q-tip I think. Or, what about laser and or plastic surgery? I'd be willing to pay very good money to have this resolved.
Avatar m tn hi im a skin type 6 male, in the summer i tried to lighten my face i didn't use sunscreen and now im darker than before. i've waited nearly 6 months but it still the same. what shall i do? is there anything i can do to go back to my skin tone before i started.
Avatar f tn The treatments vary from melanin blocking agents combined with topical medications such as Retin A which causes the body to exfoliate the skin to rid the body of the hyperpigmentation while prohibiting new melanin production to laser treatments. The treatments wholly depend upon your needs and skin type. For standard non-hormone induced hyperpigmentations Hydroquinone usually reduces or removes hyperpigmentations very effectively. It is a bleaching agent.
