Avatar n tn I had a car accident many years back and have excess scar tissue as a result. I also had 15 stitches inside my upper lip. Years gone by and it is noticeably larger. I am going this afternoon to have the scar tissue removed via laser. My lip wasnt bad for the first few years but over time it became alot worse. I will let you know the results if you are considering having it removed.
Avatar n tn your link just said that the CO2 laser works really well with great cosmetic results. That laser, CO2 laser, is a relatively new laser, and does have a wide range of conditions that it can treat. Though there are numerous other lasers that can be used. Going for surgery may only cause more scar tissue growth and leave a similar marking on the lip. Talk to your doctor about your options and then decide from there.
Avatar m tn However, I was worried if this would work as i dont think it is raised enough, if i rub my finger on my cheek i can barely feel it is there, and i think it might grow back or leave a bad scar. I wondered if anyone had had any similar experiences, to help me decide if i should go ahead with it? Thanks.
Avatar f tn You may also have scar tissue inside that could be causing some sensitivity. You can ask a doctor to laser the scar tissue away.
Avatar f tn im such a baby when it comesto pain but after my c section im not afraid of anything lol and no your scar just looks like a line..u cant tell u had stiches but i seen someones scar who had stapples and u could tell she had staples lol and when its disolving it itches! so no pain in the healing process..just advise u to NOT WEAR ANYTHING TIGHT AROUND YOUR WAIST!
Avatar n tn Laser may be more expensive and they may require more sessions for effective results. This depends on the extent and depth of the scar. For small scars, then Laser may be helpful. Microdermabrasion may even help. How large is this scar?
Avatar m tn Doctor went in and removed scar tissue - repaired back of eye close to retina. Used stitches. Removed virtus and put salt water solution. Was done with a small laser machine. The problem I can not see out the eye after the operation. Is this norma? Doctor said that sight would come back after the air bubble clear up. The air bubble has cleared. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I always get a vitamin E capsule, ***** it with a pin, rub the oil over the scar and massage it into the scar (making sure it isnt too sore or too soon after the surgery). Massage seems to keep the scar tissue away...doing it gently with your thumb.
Avatar n tn Hello, You should consult your dermatologist and get prescribed for oral anti inflammatory medicines like Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen. They will help in reducing the swelling. Stitches’ scars can be dealt with laser treatment after the lesion is completely healed. I hope it helps.Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
Avatar f tn I cry at the thought of trading one problem for another and a worse quality of life than I already have. Is there any hope in laser surgery to remove scar tissue? Any homopathic remcommendations? Any hope at all? I'm young, tired and have to make a living to survive. I don't want to depend on pain meds for the rest of my life either. Please, is there any help out there?
1171751 tn?1265889823 Anyway, I ended up having to get 6 stitches and was left with a pretty dark vertical scar about an inch long. Your son looks about the same age as me (I turned 24 two weeks after the incident) and although mine was less severe, I'd imagine the treatment options may be similar. I've gotten four Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments which have helped smooth the scar out and are supposed to help lighten the discoloration as well.
Avatar f tn will I be left with this huge scar in my lip? Can a plastic surgeon remove this scar? If so, when do you recommend that I have a consult with a plastic surgeon? I feel like my bite is off because my lips no longer close naturally due to this large bump.
1116823 tn?1303072844 But this procedure left a scar, and I had surgery done about a month ago, to remove this scar. Now, that scar has been removed, but the skin did not heal properly. One side of the skin did not attach with the other side of skin, so there's a deep gash left in between. When I bring this skin together it looks perfect, but when it's separated, it looks very bad. So, is there a way to attach this skin together..? I have uploaded pictures in my album..
Avatar n tn Some older scars may not respond to injections for scar reduction. Only an experienced scar reduction doctor can determine whether or not a scar is a candidate for reduction surgery. ref: http://www.aboardcertifiedplasticsurgeonresource.com/scar-revision/scar-reduction/index.html Hope you find this information useful. What ever you choose please make well-informed and the least risky choices.
Avatar n tn and i got three stitches on the chin beacuse of this my chin and lower lip got dislocated slightly .how can it be brought back to original position .
Avatar m tn There are many procedures of mole removal like by shave or deep elliptical excision, excision with cauterization (a tool is used to burn away the mole) and laser removal. Your dermatologist may choose excision with or without stitches, depending on the depth of the mole and the type of cosmetic outcome desired. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
1422823 tn?1287679280 Hi, Excuse my denseness here but how do you have stitches after 9 months? Your stitches have long since dissolved or been removed, yes? Am I misunderstanding something?
Avatar n tn Ouch! I hope you mean a scar. Still, I'm thinking even a pretty recent scar would be tougher to pierce than unscarred skin. Was the Copaxone able to leave the syringe and inject into the scar tissue? That would probably delay absorption of the drug (making it less effective) but I doubt it would cause harm. I'd definitely call Shared Solutions and/or your neuro though and let them know what happened - just in case. Don't be embarrassed to confide in them.
