Avatar n tn Other treatments for warts on the skin are burning the wart, cutting out the wart or removing the wart with a laser. These treatments are stronger and they may also leave a scar. They are normally done in warts that have not cleared up with other treatments. Talk to your doctor about which treatment is best for you. Take care and regards.

Avatar n tn In case they recommend surgery, I read somewhere that the the Hospital in Rochester(sorry I can't remember the details)Minnesota is doing some experimentation with removing benign liver lesions with just laser laproscopic surgery. The patients are home the next day! From what I read the lesions have not returned in 5 years so far! Take care and keep me posted.
Avatar n tn I too, am a gay male and had the "green light" laser surgery on my prostate about 6 years ago (in NYC) to help with my urination problem. My doctor did mention to me that I would not be able to ejaculate afterwards and also said it was irreversable. I had to then weigh the pros and cons of what I thought was more important - being able to pee normally or not being able to ejaculate during orgasm.

Avatar n tn I had the exact same problem as you. I will tell you what happend to me and let you decide. After 3 years of on again off again pain in my left leg (ranging from moderate to through the roof) and numbness I finally elected to have surgery at "The hospital for special surgery" in NYC. One of the best in the USA. After trying everything from physical therapy to acupuncture to yoga and chiropractic I figured it was the last rational spot.
Avatar n tn My therapist sent me for another operation to straighten it but it ended up removing all movement due to a build up of scar tissue and the fact that they cut some of my tendons. If i had my time again i would have left it the way it was.
Avatar n tn I, myself, had a radical hysterectomy in April of 2007 because of ovarian bloat and the fact that my uterus was grossly enlarged. It weighed 5 pounds when it was removed! Last summer I had to have laser ablation of pre-cancerous cells in my vaginal vault. And just these past several days I've started to bleed from my vagina a bright red color with what appears to be tiny clots.
Avatar f tn My mom had something similar and went in to have it removed. She has a tiny scar, but is glad it is gone. I don't know what caused it. Her procedure was outpatient, so she went home the same day.
Avatar n tn Although I have had two catheters before in my life, one was after a car wreck where I was left with scar tissue from how they catherized me, and the other was after a stomach surgery called a Fundal Placation, I think thats the spelling. Trust me, you are not alone in this. The wisest thing to do is find a new doctor, and keep at them untill they tell you something.
Avatar n tn My doctor didn't go into details about the surgery because it's not something I need to have done at this time, but it sounded to me like a minor procedure, not something serious. She did say that the surgery would leave a small, visible scar. Here is some information I just found online on About.com: "Sebaceous cysts most often disappear on their own and are not dangerous. Occasionally, they may become inflamed and tender.
Avatar n tn I was told by two different neurosurgeons that fusion was my only option. WRONG! I had Laser surgery in May of this year and I can honestly say I now have NO PAIN and NO HARDWARE!! Plus I was back at my office less than one week after the surgery. The name of the facility is Laser Spine Institute : http://laserspineinstitute.com/home.aspx They also work on fusions gone bad. (I have never heard of a good fusion personally) The so called "Gold Standard" they told me.
Avatar n tn I asked my doctor if there was any way with me having my right ovary and still ovulating that I could get pregnant, with no utereus but still having a period. He told me that eventually my cervix would scar over at the end where he removed the utereus. Therefor not allowing any sperm to get to the egg that was released every month. I am wondering why he left my cervix. If it was to keep from opening me up by incision i think I could handle a scar better than having a period every month.

Avatar f tn I was suffering and on tons of gabapentin until I discovered an orthopedic chiropractor who uses the cox technique (check internet for practitioners) and a laser on my neck. Guess what - this problem disappeared after 2- 3 treatments.
Avatar n tn I have been having laser treatments from my chiropractor and they seem to be helping. Also taking 2000mg vit C 4x a day and Natrual B along with a good natural multiple vitamin. Resting after work as much as possible. The front area has been very ichy and then painful, the iching just started on the 3rd week. The back area is much better. Hoping it dosen't last much longer. Also I felt like I was coming down with something for about a week before the pain started. Good luck to everyone.
Avatar n tn Many years ago I was treated for Warts with acid and she noticed that scar tissue had formed causing a thin barrier of skin betweei=en the vagina and anus. She said that she has seen this before in women that have given birth and developed scar tissue after. She cut the skin and stitched it to the sides in order for it not to grow back. In 3 weeks I will go back to see her so fingers crossed. I will keep you updated.
940391 tn?1255758976 Well your 16 mm nodule is probably nothing but old scar tissue - but I agree with you the anxiety awaiting for the results is just terrible!!! Most of these nodules are NOT cancerous........ but just the thought about the test is enough to cause a panic attack! Don't understand what type of pain your having - be a bit more specific. Where is your dull pain?
298579 tn?1192250448 Yet another woman here, relieved to find she's not alone. I've had the same symptoms since age 33, and I'm 53 now. Mine started when I had a botched laser cone biopsy of my cervix which left my cervix a mass of scar tissue. I always assumed that my pain had something to do with my screwed up cervix. My symptoms were so weird that I never mentioned them to my doctor. I've done a bunch of Google searches but never got the right one to get any information.
Avatar n tn His team has also had a lot of success with endoscopic and laser surgery. You can send all of your stuff to him for evaluation before having to make the trip. I've seen some spectacular cases he's operated on. One guy had no discs in his neck, just one long rod! You only have one neck and that connects to your back which makes up your whole spine..... make the right decision when it comes to who you let cut it open. Another great site is GPN, Global Patient Network.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 1996 and had surgery removing fibroids, lesions, and scar tissue. I have been in multiple car accidents but only ended up with bulging discs, whipflash, and spranged something. I was diagnosed with having Fibromyalgia in 2002. I just read in some of my previous doctors notes from 1999 that I had rhematoid arthritis. My blood work came back and my doctor said she thinks I have anemia. I have a doctor's appt. with a Rheumatologist 5/1/08.
Avatar n tn i am having doubts about this fusion but there is a alternative surgery(laser surgery) laser surgery institute.

We were so discouraged.
