203342 tn?1328740807 This is true of most people even if scars elsewhere heal well. I believe that laser treatment for scars is minimal at best, as you have experienced. On the other hand, surgical excision by a plastic surgeon and reclosure will probably not be very effective either. The best alternative would be application of topical silicone gel sheeting designed for scar reduction. Many drug store will carry this product or it can be ordered over the internet.
Avatar m tn I went to see a Dermatologist today. He said he wouldn't use any laser surgery on it because there's a risk that the scars will get even worse. So he just prescribed me to some skin lightening cream and Scar gel, and told me to use them for the next 3-6 months and see if there's any improvements. I'm going to try ScarPrin gel since it's apparently rated as the best scar formula in the market.
Avatar f tn HI There, I had laser hair removal treatment carried out on my legs, underarms and bikini area 4 days ago. Whilst my underarms and bikini are healing well, I have broken out in an "acne" type rash which is itchy on my legs. I have been taking a piriton at night and piriteze during the day and also using sudocrem on my skin. Is there anything else that I can do to alleviate the itch, speed up the healing and prevent any scarring?
Avatar m tn My mum and I have been recently getting laser hair removal done every 4-6 weeks. We are both on our 6th or so session. Both of us have responded well and nothing bad has happened. However, yesterday my mum went for her session and she came back with a lot of redness. She gets her neck, chin, cheeks and upper lip done and everything was very noticeably red. This has never happened before. There might be a little bit of redness/itchiness/soreness afterwards, but not to this extent.
