Avatar n tn Hello, There are many procedures of mole removal like by shave or deep elliptical excision, excision with cauterization (a tool is used to burn away the mole) and laser removal. Your dermatologist may choose excision with or without stitches, depending on the depth of the mole and the type of cosmetic outcome desired. There are no home remedies for mole removal.
Avatar n tn a flat mole should allways be lasered away and a raised one should be flattened down first and then removed using a laser. Also be aware of which laser they use some are much more destructive than others. Dont go to some dermatologists to get pretty, they are specialised in skin deseases like psoriasis or skin cancer. I'd really see a plastic surgeons clinic and dont have anyone cut on your face, you're gonna regret this afterwards seeing some ugly scars in the mirror. But the doc doesn't care.

Avatar n tn I have quite a few small brown moles there. They are a couple of mm. Now, a couple of weeks after the first treatment, I noticed that several of these tiny moles became very dark, almost black, and their shape is not round. They are still very small, I don't thing they grew. Is this dangerous? Should I run to a dermatologist and avoid any future treatments? Or is this normal and safe?
Avatar n tn I had a laser mole removal done on my face to two moles, one is somewhat large and brownish, flat. and the other was smaller, black and protuding. This laser procedure was done about 2-3 months ago and it is still red and discolored. the scab fell off in 2-3 weeks after the laser procedure, and I have put sunblock on and even massaged it yet it is still red. when will the redness go away? the larger flat brownish was is slightly indented as well.

Avatar n tn I have been receiving laser hair removal treatments around my aerolae. About an inch away from my aerola one of my breasts is a flat mole, about a centimeter big, with a lighter shade of brown surrounding a darker brown in the center of the mole. The mole has been there my entire life with no change in character. The laser techs told me they would just work around this mole to prevent burning it. During a treatment on 1/17/11, I was told the laser would be "turned up".
Avatar m tn I have more than 300 small moles on my face and both hands. One of my nearby doctors said that it is not a skin cancer but it is due to sun allergy. My social confidence is going down as I tend to meet many handsome peoples. Further what should I do next to prevent upcoming moles and clearing the existing moles mostly from my Face?
Avatar n tn Hello, Hi i have 2 moles on my face that are a little bit smaller than the end of an pencil eraser. I had one from birth that started out as a tiny freckle and continually grew up until where it is now, this one is located about a cm left of my nostril. The second is on the side of my nose half way down which began growing in elementary school and is now the same size as my first. These are a pest for me as i am 16 and getting girls is hard for me and other than these my skin is perfect.
Avatar m tn Hello, Using heavy make up to cover them area temporary solution and might cause additional harm to the surrounding normal skin. Several methods are available nowadays for the removal of moles, like cryosurgery, excisional biopsy, electro cautery, cold freezing to name a few. You need to consult a cosmetologist and get it evaluated to confirm the diagnosis.

Avatar m tn ' 'While laser treatment is commonly offered and may require several appointments, other dermatologists think lasers are not the best method for removing moles because the laser only cauterizes or, in certain cases, removes very superficial levels of skin. Moles tend to go deeper into the skin than non-invasive lasers can penetrate. After a laser treatment a scab is formed, which falls off about seven days later, in contrast to surgery, where the wound has to be sutured.
Avatar n tn Depending on the depth and size of the mole, some moles are better excised surgically. Superficial moles are best removed with laser treatment. Creams and the like are not usually recommended for large and deep moles. It is also important to be reminded of the "A,B,C,D', Es" of melanoma. Those are five characteristics that make a mole more likely to be a melanoma, one of the most aggressive of skin cancers. A= Assymetry: if one half of a mole appears different than the other half.
Avatar f tn I made an appointment with my dermatologist and instead of getting him, they scheduled me with a cosmetic physicians assistant. And of course, the PA said after looking at them, they were just moles and not to worry about them. He did not biopsy them or do any other tests other than looking at them. He said, they could be treated cosmetically. I am in my late 40's and as I said, these have developed over the past six years.

Avatar m tn My Dr noticed two suspicious moles that i had and I wanted to see if they could be more closely examined. The pictures I have taken are pretty high quality. Both of these moles are located where the sun don't shine if ya know what I mean - probably not due to UV radiation. The one in the top right is only about 3-4mm in diameter but it wasn't there 3-4 months ago.
