Avatar m tn Ok, I looked something up. Say the crescent is around the optic nerve and nevus is like a mole in the eye. I'm assuming Nevus is more dangerous than a crescent needs to be monitored. Is that correct?
Avatar n tn No Yag laser is NOT used for that purpose on the eye. Generally benign "freckles" (nevus) of the conjunctiva are not removed.

Avatar n tn can anyone refer me to a surgeon that would be willing to look at my eye for removal of a benign nevus in my right sclera? I understand that this is out of pocket yet I have gone to an opthalmologist and retinal specialist and am being offered no hope of removal, any advise would be great and thank you!
Avatar m tn My concern is that treating this birthmark with a laser will possibly cause damage to this highly sensitive part of the body. Another concern of mine is that once treated, it will return.

Avatar m tn Both is growing along with her and she is 16 months now. We took her to a dermatologist and she did a Woods Lamp test and said that is Nevus Depigmentosus. She said that she is ruling out Vitiligo as it is not Chalk white under Woods lamp. Rather it was off white. She said that since it is Nevus Depigmentosus, there is no treatment and that I should not worry about it. She asked me to come for a follow up visit in 6 months. Want to check if this is ok? Is Vitiligo ruled out completely?

Avatar f tn We recently went to the doctor and was diagnosed with linear epidermal nevus syndrome. We were given really no treatment options. It seemed like they didn't know what to do. It is on the bottom of my foot, they didn't think removing it was an option. Any ideas????
Avatar m tn I am 25 years old man and about 10 months ago I had on the right ear a dome shaped nodule removed with laser. It was very dark brown/black mole that I had never seen before, it came out in 2-3 weeks… it was 4 mm.
Avatar n tn If the lesion is epithelial dysplasia, surgical intervention is indicated. I feel the latest technology utilized in soft tissue treatment is probably laser. Because laser is still quite expensive, I have'nt used yet. You may google laser to get the latest information.
Avatar n tn Recurrent nevus is a melantic skin lesion which clinically resembles a superficial spreading melanoma at the site of a recent shave removal of a nevus. What happens is that melanocytes left behind in the wound regrow in an abnormal pattern. This is accompanied by scarring, inflammation, and blood vessel changes and this both the clinical and histologic impression of a melanoma. To confirm the diagnosis please get it evaluated from a dermatologist. Hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Avatar m tn my 18 months old son has a hairy nevus on his left thigh. When he was 8 months old , size of nevous was very small (around 3-4 cm dia) , but now it spread over his thigh (all around) and continuously growing in size. there are small hairs with skin slightly rough and dark. I've seen a dermetologist who suggested laser treatment , but i'm afraid at this age (he is only 18) i should go for it or not .
