162948 tn?1205256292 I had the mirena in for about 13 months & had it removed end of august to try to get pregnant. I had thought it was more immediate. I found out it can take 3-6 months for your cycle to return. my husband and I are pretty bummed because we would have removed it earlier (or never had it put in). Anyway, I bled a few days after removal (probably due to the removal) & then nothing until a couple days of brown spotting at the beginning of this month.
Avatar f tn However, you're peripheral vision will be significantly impacted due to the retinectomies (removal of portions of your retina), laser, and other treatments. The silicone oil should not be removed until the retina appears completely stable!!! Sometimes the retina will still detach with the oil. Also, the vision with an oil retained eye is not so great.
Avatar f tn One doctor at UNC Chapel Hill in NC said it was an embedded lash and performed laser surgery. Well that wasn't the problem as it appeared several more times after that. We continued visiting the doctors at UNC but no one could diagnose it, even the professors at the school! We eventually gave up and dealt with it the best we could.
Avatar n tn I had successful cataract removal and IOL implantation in both eyes in July, 2009. On December 4 in the middle of a business trip, I awoke to find my left eye full of new floaters. I managed to locate a retinal specialist who could see me that day, and he said he was "very confident" that all I had suffered was a PVD, that he found no evidence at all of a tear or detachment. However, I did suffer a major detachment in my left eye while in the air on my trip home late on December 10.
Avatar n tn When I revealed my HCV status to my laser hair removal nurse, she told me about several of her nurse colleagues who are HCV+ & are still working. Having the disease doesn't preclude one from working in the medical profession in ANY capacity; in fact, HCV patients are covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act & have a legal right to sue if they are fired for having the disease, from what I understand.
574673 tn?1234129578 The problem seems to be a Yag laser would be done first and then the refractive laser, which obviously increases the explantation risk. ( I know I have been all through this before and I am driving myself and anyone else crazy) Anyhow do you know where I can find out the reputation of The Boston Eye Center (Dr. Samir Melki) and TLC Laser Vision ( Dr. Eric Donnenfeld). These are the two people I contacted so far who could do either explantation or Yag and laser. They lean toward not explanting.
Avatar f tn That seems to help but I have to use it every day along with warm compresses and a cleansing routine or the blurry vision gets worse. She now wants to perform laser surgery on me for a slight astigmatism I have. She says this will help, they gave me glasses to try on with the way it should look after surgery. I can see clearer but still double vision and she doesn't know if that will go away.
Avatar f tn The eye is always uncomfotable and I wear a contact over it most of the time for distance. If you know an experienced Dr. with these lenses in Charlotte, NC, I would certainly go in for a third or forth recommendation. Thanks.

Avatar f tn I found a book online called The Atlas of Craniomaxillofacial Osteosynthesis Its a medical book for sale and you can only see a couple pages, but from the index there was a whole chapter on plate removal due to immunologic response. Also.... Allergic reactions to metal implants: Influence of wear debris Properties of implant materials and particles.
Avatar n tn I decided it must have something to do with shaving and so, at the age of 50, I have started to have laser hair removal on my lower legs. Low and behold, it seems to be working. I rarely have the itching anymore. And usually, it is just before my next session. And the shaving that used to make the itching worse, doesn't anymore! It is expensive but totally worth it if it makes that doggone itching stop.
Avatar n tn I have a physical tolerance to these meds after taking them for so many years. The oxycotins I have reduced from three tabs tid to two a day. Do you have any advise? NC nurse?
Avatar n tn I was very thankful for the finding and removal of the turmor But! I had another ct last week, my brain seems to be ok, I can't get him to tell me a thing about the chiari, I told him I the reason I came to him in the beginning was the pain I have all over my body, now the dizziness, it moves around and sometimes it is so bad I can't stand it.
Avatar n tn His team has also had a lot of success with endoscopic and laser surgery. You can send all of your stuff to him for evaluation before having to make the trip. I've seen some spectacular cases he's operated on. One guy had no discs in his neck, just one long rod! You only have one neck and that connects to your back which makes up your whole spine..... make the right decision when it comes to who you let cut it open. Another great site is GPN, Global Patient Network.
Avatar n tn Taking progestrone injection, prometruim suppositories, and estrace. Have had mild cramping and lower back pain. What y'all think.....Anxious in NC.
Avatar m tn I notified all of my doctors when I realized what was going on and they all told me that the belief that mercury fillings cause migraines was quackery and that insurance would not pay for the removal. They all wanted to give me drugs to mask the symptoms. At the beginning of 2009 I decided to just pay out of my pocket to have the fillings removed. I then followed the removal with a heavy metal detox called HMD.
Avatar n tn The oxygen resulted in Retinopathy of prematurity, which was treated with laser surgery to both eyes. He was in hospital for 97 days. My son is now 6 YEARS OLD, & very healthy. He wears glasses only for distance and has never required any other surgeries. He is very intelligent showing no side effects from the brain bleeds. His only-on going treatments are physio and occupational therapy for low muscle tone which may/may not be linked to prematurity.
