Common Questions and Answers about Laser removal for stretch marks

Avatar m tn , i read about your suggestion for stretch mark.can u suggest me a name of a good stretch mark removal cream available in india?thank u.
1950518 tn?1333223465 Its a 50/50 chance you will get them or you wont. The only way to completely get rid of them is to have laser removal. But in time they will deminish into these little silvery lines. But for at least the next year they are going to be purple. But look at the bright side...
Avatar n tn Hello, There is no such treatment for stretch marks. Creams containing alpha hydroxyl acids and retin-A are said to be useful in decreasing the stretch marks but the advertised antimarks creams have no proof of effectiveness. Eat healthy , nutritious food ,drink plenty of fluids and do moderate exercises. Laser therapy, and dermabrasion, alone or in combination have also been shown to be effective in diminishing the appearance of stretch marks. For that you need to consult a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn I have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation following laser treatment for stretch marks. I am very reluctant to use a hydroquinone cream because of the controversy regarding its safety. Other creams seem to be forms of hydroquinone. Using no treatment, will it eventually fade and how long do you think it will take? Are there other creams using a different agent with less or no safety concern?I have a medium/tan skin tone; any thoughts on why I got PIH ? Can over-zealous laser treatment cause it?
Avatar f tn Hello, Laser can be used for stretch marks but you should discuss the pros and cons with your doctor. Laser treatment can often cause hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, redness, erythema etc and hence you should know the complications before going in for laser treatment. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar n tn hi. i have strench marks on my back, look like a grow any good marks removal creams or i should do a lasik surgery?
Avatar f tn Surgical/ interventional modes such as laser are the only effective method of stretch mark removal. If planning to have the stretch marks lasered, it would be best to consult a dermatologist for suggestion of an appropriate management plan. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
1123156 tn?1338866969 there's no ACTUAL laser designed specifically for stretch marks but stretch marks are scars so its the same thing. OH and one more thing you can pay for them by session at most places. so thats a pretty good cost cause you can spread out your sessions how you want. paycheck to paycheck or whatever works best for you.
Avatar f tn Hi, There are several treatment options for stretch marks. The degree of success with any treatment will be impacted by your age, your skin tone. Dermabrasion, chemical peels, or laser surgery can be used to address unwanted stretch marks. ref:
4725768 tn?1358447571 Nothing will get rid of stretch marks except laser removal. The lotions help with the itching but it will not make them go away. Over time they will get lighter and turn a silvery color but the bright side...I got them with my first pregnancy and never got them again. It's genetics as to wether you get them or not.
Avatar n tn well thank you for all ur help!!
Avatar f tn I've noticed stretch marks, and I know my inner thighs rub together when I walk. I've tried waiting for it to heal before shaving, but it's still bad. I've tried shaving different directions. I don't know what to do without a doctor's opinion.
Avatar f tn I have a chicken pox mark on my chin I have been using Bio Oil (you can get it from Boots) for about three months and it has been greatly reduced. Bio Oil is fantasic. Its good for stretch marks, age spots and scars.

748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.

485259 tn?1519050626 Don't plan on doing much for at LEAST a week or two. If you are lucky like some, you'll be up and at 'em. But if you're not, then you won't be disappointed and frustrated. 2. Make or buy muffins. Especially bran. You will need them. Don't ask me why. Ok...why? Because your meds will constipate you and make your stomach hurt. AND you will be too tired to make food. You can buy stool softeners too, but they don't make for a tasty breakfast... 3.
162948 tn?1205256292 Hey missy, I've had the IUD in for about 3 1/2 months now. Although we have not taken it for a 'test drive'... still... um, I'm getting spontaneous spotting. Sometimes red and sometimes brown. I dont understand why I'm getting these strange spotting.. Sorry to origional poster, I didnt feel it was necessary to open another post.
743543 tn?1268766823 There is some kind of liver disorder that can cause excessive itching during pregnancy, that's probably what she is testing for. As for stretch marks they have more to do with genetics than the lotions and other things you can use. But by using lotions and keeping your skin hydrated you can lessen the appearance of them. If you are going to get stretch marks there really isn't anything you can do to totally prevent them.
8101930 tn?1420005056 Yeah for sure. It is worth it for baby.
Avatar n tn I can dig them out with tweezers, but it leaves red marks, and if I don't, small red bumps form anyways. I need to shave for my job, so using a beard trimmer is not possible. I have read many, many other boards and websites for information. Here is what I have tried: 1) Shaving with brand new triple blade razor (very bad results too many blades).
1356258 tn?1277667850 I also have fatigue, edema in my foot, joint and muscle pain (in hands, legs, back and neck), headaches, chronic sinus infections, sweating, red face, tingling in feet and hands, thin skin (I can see my blue veins), muscle weakness, some stretch marks on stomach and breasts and shoulders (but they have turned white and faded), etc. But my arms and legs aren't thin. Symptoms and severity varies alot (except for the weight). Thanks for your help.
Avatar n tn Hey girl. I'm 18 and have had the same problems you have since I was 12 or so. Words of advice: Do not shave! I did when I was 13 and have regret it ever since. Its gotten so bad I'm looking at laser hair removal. As for the stretch marks I have then and so does my sister. I'm 5'7" and she's 5'11" (but she's only 16.) She had very dark deep red/pink scars on her sides and legs and mine were similar.
Avatar n tn I was very self conscious about it growing up- for I couldn't find anything about girls with nipple hair. I actually had laser hair removal when I was 16, but it has all grown back which is unfortunate because it cost a lot! I still pluck when their long enough, but they do become ingrown and I end up having some scarring as well. My boyfriend never even noticed when we first got together, I couldn't believe it. It goes to show that men miss detail. It was a huge relief for me.
Avatar f tn and the hairs have made me itch in the pass...causing me to also now have stretch marks...Now, I can't get rid of the hairs nor the stretch marks....Can you see now why I've begun to hate it so much...
Avatar n tn (lol) area i figured its from my weight gain due to my pregnancy i was new to it cuz i always had good skin tone and i was very thin before so i now im the same way its embarrising but to be honest the only reason i dont really get to serious about making it go away is cause my sons father never really got bothered about it he still wants me sexually even though were not together and i know hes noticed it cuz i mean come on he saw me give birth lol but now im dating someone else and hes seen it
Avatar n tn She has also had an Accent treatment (some kind of laser I think??) for skin tightening, which also helps. I had the procedure done on my inner thighs 5 days ago. The first day after the shots, I was REALLY swollen... not really too sore, but just swollen. The second day, I was less swollen and even went shopping for a couple of hours. Yesterday (day 3) I went to work, and had no problem. Today, the swelling is a little less, but still not back to 100% normal.
Avatar n tn This is definately not painless. Swelling, bruising, burning and pain for about 2 days. I can tolerate it, but the first hour after the injections is pretty tough to bear - but it does get better. Any questions, just ask me. I'll share my experience. Please share your experiences about this treatment.
