Avatar m tn There are dermatologists with a good experience on birthmark removal. For some, this may require referral to a cosmetic surgeon. In you case, however the risk and benefits have to be weighed. What is the size of the birthmark? Does it cover or affect a large area of your penis? I can not really say if laser therapy is effective in treating genital birthmarks. Although at this point, I feel that this does not require further intervention.

Avatar n tn Hello, There are 5 types of laser hair removal systems. These include pulsed light, Nd YAG laser, diode laser. Alexanderite laser and ruby laser. This depends on the skin type and varies from patient to patient. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist for the skin type and then depending on that, laser hair removal can be decided.
Avatar n tn ve seen different therapies available, but I am not sure which one I should be looking for (i.e. IPL / Fraxel Laser... There were other laser types but I am not sure.) Different places have different treatments and I just wanted to have a better idea what might remove this single flat mole, and cause minimal to no discoloration if removed. Please guide me to the direction and type of professional I should look for.

Avatar n tn Hello, Since the marks have been present for such a long time,so I don’t think that they are dangerous. They sound like Fordyce spots, marks due to friction rub with clothes or simple hyperpgmentation of the skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment.

Avatar n tn I have used TCA, glycolic peels, hydroquinone, tretioin, kojic, bit nothing has reduced it. Avatar m tn You could also try laser hair removal. It's expensive and a bit painful, but it would significantly reduce the amount of hair permanently. It works best for people with darker hair and lighter skin since the laser looks for the color contrast. If you do laser hair removal, you'll probably use a lidocaine cream 30 minutes before the treatment. It basically feels like a rubber band snapping on your skin. Laser hair removal requires several treatments to work.

Avatar f tn Hi, I had a mole on my face and I did a mole excursion, a small brown spot grew back, and I did a mole laser removal surgery to get it remove. However after the laser removal surgery, my mole is not disorted and grown, it doesn't seem to be a tissue scar cause it is dark brown and a raiser lump has occurred. Is this an indication of something? Can I get mole removal again using laser or excision or it would keep coming back? Thanks!
