Avatar f tn I pluck and shave but it leaves dark spots.it seem to b spreading. Anyone tried laser hair removal ?? Did it work?
Avatar n tn I did laser hair removal about two weeks ago on my lip, toes, and underarm. I love it - I have not shaved my armpits during this time and only have a few thin hairs there. My lip is a little better but they said the lip is hard to treat and can require a few treatments. I used Hair Today Gone Tomorrow and they were pretty affordable. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn My husband had laser hair removal about two weeks ago to his beard. He developed folliculitis. The folliculitis is now cleared up and the hair on his beard is very patchy. The skin under the hair seems to be lighter than the skin that has no hair. Is this b/c the skin without hair is still healing and will blend in eventually or is it going to stay this way. Also, this was the first treatment. Will hair grow back in these spots that have no hair.
Avatar n tn even my hubbie, he has never said anything to me about it but when we are getting it on I have to be very carfeul not to let him touch my face.. So enough is enough I am ready for laser hair removal. Does anyone know how much it might cost to have this done and how often do you have to go in for the "treatment"?
1178131 tn?1282658419 Since every month my Aunt shows w/o fail, with her ugly face, and understandably shatters me, making me think this will never happen etc, (I am getting into this routine every month LOL) I wanted to concentrate on few things that I had been putting off because of possible pregnancy, which btw doesn't seem to happen anytime, GRRRR anyway, on of which is facial hair removal. Did you ladies hear from any docs if it is harmless to do some electrolysis or Laser?
Avatar n tn Does anyone have experienc with laser, electrolysis or other related facial hair removal procedures. I recently read and entry in Dr. Peter Gott's column regarding a woman who had used product called Hair Block, which she got from CosmeticLabSales.com to help remove unwanted facial hair. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with over the counter products like this vs. having surgery or undergoing potentially painful experiences.
Avatar n tn I am interested in laser hair removal, but have read a lot where it is not permanent and hair can regrow in lighter so when you go to get the removal done again it's not effective due to the color of the hair. My menstrual cycle is very unpredictable. Most of the time it is very light and lasts a couple days to lasting a month and very heavy. My hair is thinning on my head. On my legs you can see my pores. Looks like chicken skin.
Avatar n tn If you have a lot of hair, the most effective way (though it is a little expensive) is laser hair removal. See the dr.first and then work out how to handle the hair. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn ive gone through laser hair removal but hair growth near the chin is still the same...wht should i do consult a gynaec or a dermatologist?
Avatar n tn Hello, For facial hair, temporary hair removal can be achieved through depilation or epilation. Permanent means of hair removal by electrolysis and laser treatment are also useful. But if there are excess body hair then hirsutism needs to be ruled out. Although hirsutism in not regularly found in males but it is not always so. Adrenal tumors and dysfunction are the commonest causes of hirsutism in males. Adrenocortical tumors are almost always malignant in patients who present with hirsutism.
Avatar n tn You can also take some over the counter anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen after waxing. However, the best method of painless hair removal is by laser treatment. I would advise you to consult a dermatologist/cosmetologist and discuss this option with him. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn There are hot waxes and many many things a woman can do for facial hair removal....including laser type stuff it think. Another thought is I wonder if her hormones have changed? Ill google it and see what it says...Also if it was clinical trial, gone bust? you might contact them and see if they can find out if it is hormonal or fix it.
Avatar f tn The methods of hair removal in hirsutism are shaving, chemical depilation by using depilatory creams, temporary epilation by plucking, tweezing, waxing and permanent epilation by electrolysis, thermolysis and laser hair removal. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. Avatar n tn To be honest, I know little about it and have only just begun to recommend it. Have you tried or considered laser hair removal or electrolysis? Either is likely to be very helpful, and is worth at least looking into. Best. Dr.
Avatar n tn A. Facial hair can be a difficult challenge. Many people are using laser hair removal. Others are using medication such as spironolactone or other medications that block the hair receptor.
Avatar m tn Hello, The different methods of hair removal are shaving, chemical depilation by using depilatory creams, temporary epilation by plucking, tweezing, waxing and permanent epilation by electrolysis, thermolysis and laser hair removal. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn On the plus side, results last longer than with waxing and depilatories, but the process is time consuming, costly and probably painful due to the hair by hair removal process. Tweezing, waxing and depilatory creams are not suitable for the face as they can cause scarring/irritation of face, also there are chances of damaging the hair follicle. The only permanent method would be laser hair removal. ref:http://www.idealimage.com/services/facial_hair.
Avatar f tn I finally decided to try laser treatments and with only 3 treatments all my facial hair has just about gone away. it is worth every penny for this treatment. I go every few months for a touch up. PLEASE do not pluck it will only stimulate more hair growth. hope this helps. At least look into it and get some more info.
Avatar n tn If you are embarrassed by the appearance, you should look into laser hair removal of the hair you have, to make your face look more even. I think that is by far your best bet. Take care. Dr.
