Laser removal beauty marks

Common Questions and Answers about Laser removal beauty marks

Avatar f tn My derm advised me to seek laser hair removal, but now I am worried that laser hair removal will just make matters worse, which I just cannot handle. He said that laser hair removal is superior to electrolysis, but stories like this tell otherwise. I read that IPL damages darker skin tones because it does not do a good job in differentiating melanin in hair follicles and melanin in skin, so it damages the surrounding skin. Did all of you ladies have IPL performed on your skin?

Avatar n tn The scars are round and “punched-out” in appearance, and are commonly called pock marks. Most pock marks come from spots that were not picked or scratched, and mild cases of chickenpox cause pock marks as often as more severe cases. There are many treatments available for scarring depending on the persons requirements and suitability. These treatments can be beneficial to varying degrees and your doctor is the best person to decide which is best suitable.
Avatar n tn I recently had a mole removed by laser. It was a small dark flat mole, more like a beauty mark. However, as it healed, it left a crater type of scar. It has been 2 weeks, will this crater heal over time? Is there something I can use or do to help it heal?
8101930 tn?1420005056 ( but please don't feel any less beautiful. It's a big fat lie that stretch marks lessen your beauty in any way. There's no way to prevent them - they just happen. It's genetic. Listen to your hubby - you are still beautiful! They usually always fade in time even on their own. And if you want to cover them up that's great too, but just know pretty much every Mommy has them. Keep your chin up!
363243 tn?1331037450 This is an ongoing problem and I think the only options that will completely remove the hair is electrolysis and laser, both of which are expensive, and the laser hair removal can be tricky with dark skin. I completely understand how you feel and I'm here for you when you get frustrated. If you learn anything let me know and I'll do the same. Take care.
Avatar n tn Hey girl. I'm 18 and have had the same problems you have since I was 12 or so. Words of advice: Do not shave! I did when I was 13 and have regret it ever since. Its gotten so bad I'm looking at laser hair removal. As for the stretch marks I have then and so does my sister. I'm 5'7" and she's 5'11" (but she's only 16.) She had very dark deep red/pink scars on her sides and legs and mine were similar.
Avatar n tn I was very self conscious about it growing up- for I couldn't find anything about girls with nipple hair. I actually had laser hair removal when I was 16, but it has all grown back which is unfortunate because it cost a lot! I still pluck when their long enough, but they do become ingrown and I end up having some scarring as well. My boyfriend never even noticed when we first got together, I couldn't believe it. It goes to show that men miss detail. It was a huge relief for me.
Avatar f tn Although it is costly, but I'm taking the chance and try it, now I decided to go get Microdermabrasion where they use crystals to help me get rid of the marks and also im getting hair laser removal. I started tx 12/17/10. I have 12 sessions/tx to go to, hopefully it will work. I will keep you posted if/when I'm done with my treatment. Good luck to all.
Avatar n tn I am a bit worried that i could have some sort of disease or somthing wrong inside my body? I have read that laser hair removal could help, it's soo expensive, and I have so many areas to treat. I wish that someone would do some reasearch and find out whats going on, im just glad im not alone though. Lastly if anyone has a sucsses storey, please tell.
Avatar n tn I had one laser treatment but it was a freebie and did nothing (SmartXide Dot laser) I've done all this for well over a year and NOTHING has improved. I look like a 40-year-old with an 80-year-old's arms. I live in Canada, so have more opportunity to cover my arms than someone living in Florida and cover them I do. I am embarrassed by them. I feel shocked when I look in the mirror. So ladies, I empathize fully. If I find a solution, I will post for you all.
Avatar n tn - Laser hair removal (long pulse yag laser works good) - there was a clinical experiment being done but do not kown what was the outcome clinical trial but laser has helped me ALOT. I have my doctor perscribe this treatment for me, although my insurance does not cover it but I have had Flex Account cover it. - As mentioned by other people change sweaty clothes, keep dry and wear only cotton.
Avatar m tn I hate this because I thought it was nothing at first, but when I started noticing marks, scars, bumps and never healing scabs that were left after picking or messing with, its become embarrassing. I miss having a clear/clean body and face, but its like a urge to me. Its like an itch that has to be scratched, if you don't itch it, the urge will grow until so.
Avatar f tn they did a biopsy shortly after i did this post, and nothing specific came back. i've had it treated w/ medication (pills and topical) and also laser and it'll seem to look a little better for a few days but then i'm almost to square 1. it just will not seem to heal. just today they decided to do a second biopsy, because they also find it odd and worrisome. they did diagnose me with rosacea b/c in general i am very pink with capillaries close to the skin.
Avatar f tn I found a book online called The Atlas of Craniomaxillofacial Osteosynthesis Its a medical book for sale and you can only see a couple pages, but from the index there was a whole chapter on plate removal due to immunologic response. Also.... Allergic reactions to metal implants: Influence of wear debris Properties of implant materials and particles.
Avatar n tn I scratch them so much that I have fingernail marks all over my legs and sometimes even brusies. This causes my legs to look horrible. I'm so ashamed that I won't wear dresses or shorts. I haven't been to the doctor yet just because everything I have read hasn't given me much hope on a clear diagnosis. This has been an ongoing problem usually I have the severe itching for a few months then it will go away and out of the blue will appear again.
Avatar n tn It's an at home laser hair removal machine. It costs like $600 but I bought it since it would be cheaper than laser hair removal at the doctor. I hate to sound like an ad, but it seems to be working very well. About a little less than half of the hair is gone from my arms and armpits but I don't use it that much on my legs because of the itching after shaving. About a fourth of my leg hair is gone right now.
Avatar n tn I wonder if laser hair removal is an option. At this point, I'd go for that if it would stop these painful lumps.
Avatar f tn and I am pretty sure I have always had this issue... more so the past decade, paying attention to it, since I work in the beauty industry. I have to look "cute".. and I will tell you, not only in dress pants, jeans, shorts, exercise pants/shorts, swimsuits, sweatpants, underwear, ANYTHING and everything shows it, but the worst is sitting in ur car, and having ur pants making it look worse!!!!!! I am a little overweight now, but regardless of my weight it has always been an issue..
472570 tn?1274689487 beleive it or not my doctor figured it out, no mites its a viral infection in your body, i never beleived him as i was getting biten and had marks to prove it they would bite i said then leave a almost mosquito bite sometimes small rash appreared took benadyl last night no bites try it
Avatar f tn I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is possible you will never gain feeling. I had a "average" removal of my wisdom teeth (impacted).. I stayed awake through the procedure( not a great idea) Next month it will be a year since I have have had any feeling in the right side of my tongue, and severe nerve damage over my entire bottom gums and my right upper face... nerves are weird...My days are a constant battle of pain and burning sensations...
Avatar n tn I always wash my vulva with cold water(warm water tends do dry the skin)and I use a moisturizer soap (after trying different brands I've found Dove Beauty Bar very good) I use a vulva moisturizer every day (I use one from a Spanish laboratory because I only came to this country about 3 months ago, but I'm sure there are something identical here). I avoid sleeping with my panties on and also to wear jeans or very tight trousers.
